Hi Jenna,
Whenever I am going to be around water with my Kindle, I always pop it into a zip-loc bag. This trick has saved me a few times and hopefully will save you from experiencing Kindle heartbreak again.
You just have to find a brand without writing on the bag, or just buy a gallon size and move it around.
