what i’m loving now

by jenna on February 15, 2011

I realize I haven’t done a “what I’m loving now” post in a good while! I’ve been busy pulling my injured boyfriend’s socks on and off, moving to a new house and baking chocolate cake after chocolate cake.

Someone help me.

Regardless, here’s what I’m loving now!

1.

Okay, I admit I’m only fifty pages in, but already I’m loving this sweet epistolary-style novel! I can’t wait to snuggle in my bed tonight and really sink my teeth into it!

2.

I’ve been wearing these aviators from Anthropologie everywhere lately! This is a new pair and hopefully I won’t sit on them this time.

3.

Another fun Anthro find. I’m in love with all the bright colors that are popping out this Spring. This top is super soft, bright and fun!

4.

Hammocks. Because they’re always a good idea.

5.

The Black Keys is Adam’s favorite band and I bought him the deluxe album with book for Valentine’s Day (after downloading the entire album on my laptop…obviously). The whole thing is great, but I can’t stop listening to Everlasting Light and Unknown Brother!

6.

I don’t know why…but lately I’ve just totally rekindled my passion for cream cheese frosting. It’s all I want. Anyone care to join me on a cream cheese frosting diet?!

7.

Yikes! I’ll just admit it—I have 100% full fledged puppy fever! I know the exact kind I want and even the name.  What can I say? Dexter just really wants a big brother or sister. heh heh heh

8.

I took this aerial shot of San Francisco last week when I headed down to LA for the food photography workshop. I LOVE how the Golden Gate Bridge looks from the air, don’t you?!

9.

I read this in the hospital waiting room the other day…such a sweet story–I couldn’t put it down!!

10.

Comfort food. Whether that be perfect buttermilk fried chicken, beef stroganoff, chicken pot pie or turkey meatloaf….I can’t get enough!

(note to self: buy new stretchy pants)

I didn’t know the Pioneer Woman came out with another book. That woman is on fire. Love the shades, all your book suggestions, and your mouth-watering recipes. Maybe I missed it but where and why are you moving?

Marie, I think that’s the book by Pioneer Woman that they are making into a movie…..I think it’s about when she first met her husband.

Jenna, I love the GG bridge from the air as well….so beautiful:)

Oh, and I will totally join you on the cream cheese frosting diet. I made up a batch the other day, to go on top of my red velvet pancakes… but of course I made extra. Leftovers are always a good thing when it comes to frosting ;).

That’s an amazing aerial shot! Everytime I see puppies I get the fever… I’ve got a dog, cat and bunny but there’s always room for one more cute puppy.

Cream cheese frosting is the BEST! It’s my go-to frosting I use it on everything that requires frosting and even on things that don’t, like pretzels. Pretzels dipped in cream cheese frosting are the bomb! :-D

How did you get that super-neat effect for the aerial shot over SanFran? It looks amazing!

Reply

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) February 15, 2011 at 12:16 pm

I love your list, Jenna!

And puppy fever…with the name picked out and everything? Oh I sense a doggie coming soon!

Hopefully the place you’re moving into is pet-friendly:)

And yes I love that San Fran shot but really, I love anything Anthro. Every time I post something that’s “wish list” related, there are always things from clothes to dishes on that list…from Anthro, of course!

I second above poster, do tell where you are moving ;)

Am reconciling a serious case of puppy fever by taking pix of Golden Retrievers I encounter and/or stalk in Carmel. After relocate to France 10/2011 will get two and name them Jack & Jackie. And perhaps celebrate with a Golden Retriever cake with cream cheese frosting just to confound new French neighbors. hehe :)

I loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Isn’t Juliet such a likeable character? I wanted to be her friend. I wish people still wrote letters! You’ll love the ending; it’s heart warming. I am now reading Those Who Save Us. I think I put that on my queue after you recommended it. I’m about 1/3 through it and can’t wait to finish it.

I’m also digging The Black Keys. Great list!

And I’m totally on board with the cream cheese frosting diet. Last week we ate chicken pot pie, and I fully support a wardrobe of primarily yoga pants.

Hey Jenna,

Sorry to bother you but could you ask your man to suggest a dessert place in Austin. I’m running the half this weekend and I’ve been to Hey Cupcake. I was wondering if he knew of another place.
I also wanted to let you know that I made your mom’s pulled chicken and I am a believer in using a slow cooker for cooking pulled chicken. Clean was easy and it tasted awesome!
