Yummy Yoga Muscles

WOW—y’all must really, really want some all natural organic skincare products, huh?! That’s awesome–keep the entries comin’ friends; I’m not cutting it off until 10 pm eastern time.

In spirit of the giveaway, I did not wear any makeup AT ALL today. I mean I don’t wear a lot of makeup anyways, just usually some bare minerals powder and mascara, but I really wanted to put this line to the test and so this morning I just scrubbed my face gently with the Body Polish (only dead sea salts, avocado oil and honey) and then just applied a tiny bit of Skin Glow per founder Stephanie Morris’s instructions.

The result?

IMG_1850.JPG
I did sort of glow! Or at least that’s what my mom told me 🙂
Anyways, to back up, this morning I ate an early snack of an oikos + 2 tbsp MojaMix before yoga:

Forgot to tell you! You can now use the code “EatLiveRun” to get 10% off your order of MojaMix. Holy yum.
Yoga was life changing today. Seriously. I sort of didn’t want to even go at first though just because my back and triceps are SO sore from yesterday’s Baptise power flow but I knew I would feel better after I went so I scooted my sore butt to a noon power class at my studio. The class was 90 minutes and just so delicious. There were very challenging times (like Jen’s “famous” leg series where we go from warrior three to half moon to revolved half moon to standing splits to pyramid) but there were also a ton of yummy child’s poses and, guys, I FELL ASLEEP IN SAVASANA! That has never happened in my entire life. It was almost like I was in another world, I was so relaxed. I’m the textbook case of a Type A personality and rarely (okay, never) do I let myself go that far on the yoga mat where I actually release everything enough to fall asleep. Rather, I’m usually the control freak of the group looking at my watch and figuring out how best to manage my to-do list for the rest of the afternoon. That, my friends, is why yoga is amazing. For those Type A control freaks like me!
Of course by the time I got home after yoga it was already 2:00 so I immediately dove into lunch. Today I had a cup of Amy’s Lentil Dal, half a grilled Wisconsin cheddar cheese sandwich and a ton of super sweet cherries.
IMG_1843.JPG
IMG_1845.JPG
Look at that farmers market cheese!!! 🙂
IMG_1847.JPG
Oh, she was tasty all right. This hit the spot (especially when followed up by one sole square of Lindt Fleur de Sel!)
Since I ate so late there was no need for an afternoon snack but I was getting quite hungry by the time I pulled up to my parent’s house for dinner! My mom made buffalo shrimp with homemade bleu cheese sauce from the new Cooking Light. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world!
IMG_1856.JPG
To drink, we all toasted with Murphy-Goode Fume Blanc—-
IMG_1851.JPG
Did you know that this Fume Blanc was voted one of the top five BEST and most affordable Sauvignon Blancs in California? My mom picked up this bottle from Total Wine for only $9.99!! I had 1.5 glasses over the course of dinner.
We killed it.
IMG_1853.JPG
As for dinner, we had those absolutely AMAZING spicy shrimpies with my mom’s homemade sauce (also from Cooking Light) and I had half a baked sweet potato on the side (my parents had baked potatoes, which I don’t care for). The sweet potato was about the size of my head so I’m having the other half tomorrow! There’s also 1/4th of an avocado with blue cheese and vinagrette on my plate but I didn’t eat it. I was stuffed from the shrimp!
IMG_1854.JPG
But not TOO stuffed for dessert!
IMG_1857.JPG
Yep, that would be one of my previously frozen vegan carrot cake cupcakes that I had originally baked for the garage sale a few weeks ago! I spotted a defrosted one in my parent’s fridge and I went in for the kill. It was a little dry but still pretty tasty. 😉
Oh my! My shoulders, back and triceps are talkin’ to me right about now. Off to soak my sore yoga muscles in the bathtub and call it a night. Can’t believe tomorrow is THURSDAY and my trip is so soon—just found out I will be staying in the posh Hotel Healdsburg over the weekend and getting picked up from the airport in a limo…..wow!! Tomorrow I have laundry, packing and more yoga planned. Long run on Friday!

You look beautiful without makeup on! Today I took a plunge too and did not wear any eye makeup. I still put some cover-up on, but it was huge for me to give up my eyeliner and mascara! But it also felt SO NICE coming home and NOT having to remove eye makeup! I love my makeup, but it definitely does take some extra effort 🙂

Hotel Healdsburg looks great! Very exciting and life-changing weekend ahead. You might want to check these facts but I read that there was no such varietal as Fume Blanc- that it was a marketing name that Robert Mondavi created to make Sauv Blanc more inviting to Americans (this was back in the ??70s? 60s?). If that is the case I’d be surprised that M.G. could use the name. Anyway, just thought I’d throw it out there- not sure if it’s true, but I might have read it in Wine Spectator or something, like 5 yrs ago- don’t rely on my brain to remember all that long ago! 😀 I’d love to hear if you find out the real story!

I too am a Type A personality girl! Friends keep telling me how much I would benefit from yoga. It’s crazy that I’ve gone 23 without ever trying a class. Your skin looks fantastic! As for the wine: I have ALWAYS thought that good wine is expensive or at least over $20. The only that I had found that wasn’t was the wine at the winery down the road from our house. But, I am beginning to see that there is other good (ahem…Goode) wine out there for a good price.

You look absolutely stunning, Jenna. All I have to say is WOW! That is freaking amazing. I wear the same make up normally … but I still need to cover up things dang it.

Hey Jenna- How long do you think a bottle of the Skin Glow would last, if used daily? I use Bio-Oil now on my face and it’s $10 for a teeny bottle. I’m thinking the Skin Glow might be worth it, although its a tad pricey.

Sorry for the repeat post. I just posted this under your wine blog…ooops…

      Lauren,

mmmmm I’m not sure to tell you the truth. Maybe a few months? You really only need a very small amount–it smells HEAVENLY!

      blueberrybabe,

Honestly bananas are my favorite addition to a GM. They make it sooo sweet and creamy I just don’t think you can find otherwise. Peach was good and I think frozen mango would also be really good too, though!
