Good morning from San Francisco!
Well, Kath and I woke up at the early hour of 5:30 this morning. She’s on east coast time and I…..am not. But, I got up anyways with her to seize the day. Actually, I wish I could just live with Kath because she always forces me to go be productive and hit the gym. Without her, I’d probably have just laid in bed and read blogs all morning. 😉
I ate half of the roll that Matt sent me as a thank-you for housing his wife tomorrow night in Healdsburg, straight from Great Harvest!!!
And then when the rest of the group went on their run, I went to the hotel gym and did a 20 minute lower body workout. There were jumping jacks involved, along with squats…awesome.
And then, at 9:00, we met in the lobby downstairs and walked across the street to the Ferry Building for good eats, strong coffee and farmer’s market galore!!
I had half of an baked egg and roasted pepper sandwich with fontina cheese. Delicious!
Chef Kevin said Blue Bottle coffee is the best coffee in the country so, naturally, we waited in the super long line to hit that up!!
Awwww HLS-2! 🙁
What could be better than being totally immersed in FOOD all morning??!
I couldn’t resist taking home these amazing beans!
Okay. Time for LUNCH!!!!

November 7, 2009 at 12:44 pmI LOVED the Ferry Building when my friends and I went to SF a few weeks ago for the Nike Women’s Marathon. I think it was actually one of my favorite places that we saw, aside from TJs – haha! I agree, Blue Bottle Coffee is AMAZING!
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your Saturday!

November 7, 2009 at 12:48 pmBoy, do I miss San Francisco. If you see a clown walking around on stilts, that’s my very good friend, Evan. Tell him I said hi! Haha.
That farmer’s market looks outstanding, as do the beans you brought home. I bet your french press will be pleased with its new java.

November 7, 2009 at 3:22 pmI always forget reading your posts that you are in a different time zone. Sure I know you are in California but it is weird to think of it only being around lunch where you are.
That sandwich looks great. Fontina is an amazing cheese and adding red pepper just makes anything better.

November 7, 2009 at 3:29 pmHey Jenna! I some how managed to screw up my ankle this morning and while trying to push it through a nice long power walk, I figured I should stop before I made it worse. I know I should take it easy for the next week or so but I don’t want to stop exercising! Is there any cardio you think I can do without further screwing myself over? Since you’ve had your fair share of injuries I thought you’d be the perfect person to ask. Oh and I can’t swim, so that’s kind of out =( Thanks a lot, I adore your blog and I want to be like you when I grow up =))

November 7, 2009 at 5:27 pmPlease tell me the roll you ate was not sitting on the hotel comforter.

November 7, 2009 at 5:41 pmAm laughing hysterically over ‘Suzie’s #29 comment above.’
FYI, money and hotel comforters test 75% positive for un-foody things like fecal matter.
Anyway—Great Pix! Got my hometown SF fix! LOVE the Ferry Building/ Farmer’s Market. Thanks!!

Some Darn Good Beans — Eat, Live, Run
September 13, 2010 at 8:19 am[…] year ago I bought these Christmas Limas from the San Francisco ferry building farmer’s market when I was at the Foodbuzz conference. I had good intentions but for some reason, just found them again yesterday…don’t […]
