It’s Christmas Eve! And this post is just in case you were staring at broken eggshells on your kitchen floor and wondering what to make now for dessert.
It happens.
But, I’ve got your back! Here are my favorite holiday dessert recipes…some are mine and some are ones that I wish were mine, but belong to other friends around the blogworld.
So what do you say? Pick up the shells, eat an oreo and get back in the game.
If I were you, I’d top this sweet, spicy ginger cake with a very large amount of vanilla bean ice cream…but that’s just me.
triple layer mint s’more brownies. The most ridiculous, and possibly best, dessert that I’ve ever made in all of my years. A rich fudgy brownie with a chewy peppermint patty layer, topped with roasted marshmallows. It’s black stretchy pants approved.
Make these personal sized chocolate icebox cakes because they only requires three ingredients and little to no skill or culinary talent whatsoever. Stacking chocolate cookies with whipped cream? Done.

A Cozy Kitchen’s profiteroles. Simply beautiful. Dough stuffed with ice cream and topped with chocolate? Sign me up.

I’ve been staring at this HoHo cake for about two weeks now and think I might break down and make it while I’m home for myself my family. That buttercream layer is calling my name.
Zesty’s brown sugar fudge looks just about sweet enough to fuel me for a long day of present wrapping and pedicures. I want this.
I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing on Christmas Eve than making these mint chocolate covered oreos…and eating about forty of them in the process.

Kay’s oatmeal lace cookies define daintiness in my book. I also think they would be lovely crumbled over a bowl of vanilla ice cream!
I’m off for a fun day of manicures and pedicures with my mom, present wrapping and cookie eating. Happy Baking!

Quick question Jenna—(out of curiosity) you make so many delicious dessers in what appears to be in bulk. What do you do with your leftovers??

I like the oreo-covered ones best, but might go with that ginger cake. ‘Tis the season 🙂

December 24, 2010 at 8:59 amYour mini flourless chocolate cakes are in my oven as we speak. I’m hoping I didn’t screw them up because I am taking them to my husband’s family Christmas and none of them believe I can cook. Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2010 at 9:53 amI’m making your pumpkin whoopie pies with my aunt. I’d rather make them by myself, but my mother is making me get my aunt involved to kill some time. Believe me, this could be disastrous.
Wish me luck!

December 24, 2010 at 10:40 amI’m working. Would feel more worth it if I made more than 15 bucks an hour though 🙂
Have a nice day and have fun baking. Sounds nice and calming.

December 24, 2010 at 2:36 pmDude. You have a job and you’re making $15/hour and you’re complaining (as usual.) There are thousands of people without a job who would love the chance to make that kind of money. It’s kind of shameful that you complain about it all the time.
Plus, didn’t you read the reply to your comment on Jenna’s last post. Whoever that chick is made a lot of sense–be positive and quit being such a Grich all the time. You are lucky to have such a job and opportunity.

December 24, 2010 at 11:07 amBahhhhh!!! nomnomnom I want everything!!! Unfortunately I wasn’t gifted with the baking skillz. I stick to all things that don’t involve baking–lots of puppy chow around the holidays 😉

December 25, 2010 at 11:03 amJenna,
You are too kind to mention me! Thank you! I hope to see you while you are home. I would love to invite you and your mom to the Tea Room if you have some time. I hate to take time away from your family, but if you are in Savannah next week let’s meet for an hour for a cup of tea. I’ll be at church tomorrow if you and your parents plan to attend. 🙂
jenna
December 25, 2010 at 7:47 pmwe would love to, Kay! And we will be at church tomorrow morning as well. Thank you for the sweet invite—I’ll look for you tomorrow but if we don’t find each other, drop me an email and we can set up a day next week. 🙂
