Oh man, what a DAY!!!!! I have been go-go-go all day long and its only 8:20 and I’m about to completely crash. First there was 1.5 hours of yoga, then I walked Mikan for 25 minutes along the water and then I unpacked and cleaned my room for 4 HOURS!!!!!!
(get ready to gag) Eeeewwwww messy room!!!!!
I had 6 years of boxes and crap piled up in the closet and it was quite the sweat busting experience. Whoever said cleaning wasn’t a workout obviously didn’t unpack and shelve all these books:
Ahhh beloved books! They have been packed away and stored for the past 6 years and today I unpacked them all and had to stack them up on my dresser because that was the only place they would all fit! I had to stack up to the ceiling to make them all work there and even though its totally messy, I sort of like having them ALL there near to me. Call me crazy, but I like sleeping with hundreds of books within a two foot radius. My books are my life! It took about 2 solid hours to unpack, climb up to the ceiling and get them all neatly up there but I feel so much better now!
I did take a quick snack break though—
A combo of greek yogurt (the same kind as I had yesterday but this one was plain) with about a fourth of a cup of muesli and topped with some raspberry preserves.
I continued to unpack until about 5:30 when I jumped in the shower to get ready for dinner. My mom made a delicious meal of marinated and grilled teriyaki kobe beef kabobs with risotto and a salad. I also had a glass of merlot with my meal. Obvi 😉
Cleaning must have worked up my appetite because I definitely cleaned my plate! :). After dinner Ryan and I went to Delite to get some froyo and I got a medium sized cup of candy cane with chocolate mint on top:
It was good but not great. I ate about 75% then had a few large spoonfuls of my mom’s vanilla with hot fudge and pecans 😉
Ryan and I hung out with the parents for a little while and watched some football and then he just left and I’m about to get in the bath then go to bed to read. Unpacking all my books was a great activity because I found a few I wanted to re-read!
And the book that got me hooked into yoga about 8 years ago—
Its such a beautiful book, honestly. I just love to flip the pages. I highly recommend this if you are just starting to get interested in the practice and want to learn more about it. Christy is amazing!
Have a great evening, folks. We can officially start the Christmas countdown!! =)

December 21, 2008 at 8:11 pmWow. I lvoe all the books. My husband and I have so many bookshelves around our house, I tend to view the books like decorations. They’re like the “theme” of the room or whatever. I LOVE Julie & Julia. SO worth re-reading.

December 22, 2008 at 7:24 amHey Jenna,
Since you mentionned you may be making some changes to the blog, how about adding a book recommendations page with a list of all your favorites? I know you often mention what you are reading and what you have loved in the past but it would be awesome to have them all in one place.
Happy Holidays 🙂

December 22, 2008 at 11:00 amJulie & Julia is being made into a movie. The story will be combined with a biography about Julia Child, My Life in France (one of my most favorite books ever, about Julia learning how to cook and the creation of Mastering the Art of French Cooking). I think it is due for release in April and I am pretty sure Meryl Streep is playing Julia and Amy Adams is playing Julie.
