Hi everyone!
Happy Sunday 🙂
This morning I had a veryyy creamy bowl of oats to start off my day—-
A combo of 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup silk, 1/2 cup water, 1 mashed banana and 1 big spoonful cinnamon raisin peanut butter
After breakfast I did a 30 minute power lunchtime flow from yogadownloads (it was actually quite challenging and I had a good sweat!) and then worked with Ryan for about 20 minutes, helping him get into basic yoga postures and showing him the proper way to do a vinyasa. Ryan wants to start practicing yoga a little bit to become more flexible but doesn’t want to go to an actual class until he feels more confident in the poses. As of right now, Ryan cannot touch his toes……BUT I feel very confident that yoga will help him.
For lunch, Ryan and I picked up Pita Pit. I had a whole wheat pita with hummus, spinach, mushrooms, pickles, banana peppers, onions, jalapinos, feta and hot sauce. It was SPICY!!!!
And now we are off to go pick up Erin and head out on the boat for a few hours. Its not incredibly hot out but its a pretty day regardless and I’m bringing my book to read on board. 🙂
Have a great Sunday and I’ll see ya for dinner!

January 4, 2009 at 11:48 amHee, hee — ‘it’s not incredibly hot out’. It’s very bizarre to hear somebody say that when it’s currenty -2F outside (without the windchill factored in). I’m glad you’re getting nice weather, though — enjoy the boat!

January 4, 2009 at 12:10 pmYay to Ryan for trying yoga. Flexibility usually isn’t the male strong point.
Your Pita Pit has me craving…
Have a great boat ride!

January 4, 2009 at 1:18 pmA Sunday boating adventure – so fun. I admire Ryan for wanting to improve his flexibility. I don’t think I will ever get my husband to a yoga class. He just wants to run, run, and run some more. Happy Sunday!

January 4, 2009 at 1:30 pmI just started stalking you via Caitlin. Haha.
We’re from South Carolina, too!
I was born and raised in Irmo, about to finish up at Clemson in May, and we have a sailboat at the Charleston Harbor Marina. So we spend a lot of time down there. And by a lot…I mean A LOT. We wanted to get married there, but I would rather spend half of what we would there and use the rest on a fantastic honeymoon… or down payment on a house.

January 4, 2009 at 2:10 pmI am jealous that you are in FL and can go boating. I live in NJ and my fiance tells me every dingle day how much he thinks we NEED to move to FL. haha He has family there. I would consider it as I do not like the cold months. Do you enjoy living in FL Jenna?
Every time you post from Pita Pit it always looks so yummy.

January 4, 2009 at 3:17 pmIt’s okay Ryan. I can’t touch my toes either. Yoga has made me get a little bit closer though.

January 4, 2009 at 3:25 pmomg, jenna you have got me hooked on yoga too. hmm can you give some tips on how to do a headstand. I am very afraid to do that pose since it looks so . . . hard. is it hard? i tried today and like flipped myself over. lmao, dont worry i didnt hurt myself. i am a pretty flexible person but this pose intimidates me.

January 4, 2009 at 3:38 pmWe have a Pita Pit in Chicago—who knew?!? Do you have any other suggestions on what is good to get? I tried hummus on my sandwich for lunch today and was not a fan 🙁

January 4, 2009 at 3:38 pmMy hummus sandwich wasn’t from Pita Pit—I made it myself!

January 4, 2009 at 5:43 pmHi Jenna!
So this is random, but we went to COFC together and suffered through writing the Milton paper together! I have been one of the lurkers for absolutely ages now… but I wanted to tell you that you have really inspired me to 1. try and learn how to cook, 2. try and learn yoga, and 3. keep track of my culinary endeavors on a blog. We will see how the blog action actually goes, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the great posts and for giving me some good motivation to get 2009 off to a good start!
Take Care!
Samantha
January 4, 2009 at 5:45 pmI can understand your “it’s not too hot out” comment…since we’re in a steamy climate too with an average yearly temp of 85!
The yoga poses post was great, good visual for many. That was nice of you to take the time to do.
I’ve used to follow KERF and have been following you and know ya’ll are fans of oats for breakfast. I’m trying to rework them back into my morning diet as I love them but too much starches don’t sit well with me. I’m 30 years old, 4’11” and CANNOT get my weight down despite food journaling and staying very active. Hopefully some new dietary changes will help.

January 4, 2009 at 6:16 pmYum Pita Pit!! I am so glad I discovered we have one down here in New Orleans!!!!! I get the same as you- hummus. Delish 🙂
Yay, for getting Ryan into yoga. That should be fun and y’all can practice yoga together.
Happy Sunday!

January 4, 2009 at 6:18 pmGo Ryan! Hope he sticks with the yoga. My husband was doing yoga with me on Sunday mornings for a while but never took it seriously and got fed up. Oh well. The only way I can do a head stand is to use my bench…cheater that I am 😉

January 4, 2009 at 11:42 pmI’ve been reading for a while but not commenting recently. I love YogaDownload – I am completely addicted. And Pita Pit! I miss it. I used to go there all the time when I was in college (Ithaca NY has one). I love your blog 🙂

January 5, 2009 at 6:57 amI wanted to chime in this morning in support of your boy, Ryan! I’m a big fan of Ashtanga Yoga! We guys sometimes have a tough time putting our egos aside, though. I work in the construction industry so I get some strange looks when I mention it.
PS – Totally impressive pose pictures from the other day! It’s awesome what the body can do, isn’t it??
