Behind The Butter

a family affair

This photo was taken last week after I finally picked myself off the cold bathroom floor, took a shower and blew my hair dry.

Then, I went out for a wine tasting.

I wish I had more photos of the week to share, but picking up the camera proved to be all too much and honestly, it was a nice break to focus purely on my family (a huge thanks to Jess for an amazing guest post while I was out!)! I miss them. My sink full of dirty dishes misses them.

So, because I don’t have any photos of my own to share I went online and hacked my mom’s photos from Facebook and downloaded them to my desktop. Here’s another:

In this photo, I display the art of being severely dehydrated and sucking down water at rapid pace while strolling through wine country with my parents. It’s a keeper despite the fact I have elf ears because on this day, blowing my hair dry was more than I could handle and thus, a greased back ponytail came in for the win.

…and that’s all I have! The other photos just feature more elf ears and greasy hair. You’re not missing much! Go bake these cookies instead. I hear they have magic getting-over-the-flu properties!

Or at least that’s the rumor.

    Jenna:

How awesome for you to spend time with your fam. I also live away from my family and know how much it sucks (and I don’t use that word very often :)), so thos opportunities when we can have time together and have fun in the process are all the more special. It must have been a tad yuck to be sick while they were there, but how good did it feel having the people you love mop your brow in person, instead of over Skype?? 🙂 Glad you had a great time with them!

Sorry to hear that you weren’t feeling well, but sometimes being with family is really all you need.

My sink full of dishes definitely makes me miss my family, that abundant pantry, and my mom’s cooking. Sigh…

Glad that you had a nice time with the fam. From being really sick on the bathroom floor to wine tasting…that sounds like my early 20s 🙂 Seriously though, I know how BAD it is to have a really bad case of the stomach flu…ugh…shudder. Nothing worse. Except morning sickness. Whole ‘nuter topic there though.

You look adorable in that pic with your mom 🙂
