Ahhhhhh I feel so.much.better.today!
Last night I got about 10 hours of sleep and totally feel like a whole new person. Amazing what a few extra hours of sleep will do, huh? I have a ton to do today and tomorrow before I leave for Boston so I’m very, very glad I’m feeling back up to par.
This morning when the alarm went off at six I hit it and fell back to sleep for two more hours. Totally 100% necessary. I’m going to do my run on the treadmill in a little bit here and I actually think that’s a better option, because all the running outside I’ve been doing for the past two weeks has sort of made my shins a bit sore again.
For breakfast I had a toasted Ezekiel muffin with almond butter and this delicious sample that Delia sent me with the maple syrup goodies yesterday!

- 3 mile run
- Lunch with Anne
- True/Slant article
- Emails and work
- Grocery store
- Cook dinner for everyone (my Aunt is coming in town today)
I better get started!

August 11, 2009 at 9:09 amI haven’t been getting enough sleep recently either and was just feeling “cranky.” This morning when the alarm went off, I set it for an hour later, and it felt SOOOO good. When you have the time to do it, it’s so refreshing! Have fun with your Aunt tonight!

August 11, 2009 at 9:48 ammmm, I love slathering Ezekiel bread with preserves and almond butter. The hearty texture of the bread/muffin really holds up well to toppings. Have you ever tried Sarabeth’s jam? It’s my new fav!

August 11, 2009 at 10:07 amEvery once in a while, I do the exact same thing with the alarm clock. I swear those two extra morning hours are the best sleep I ever get!
Good to hear that you’re getting back to the treadmill. It definitely makes a big difference on the shins. Outdoor running is so nice by comparison, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
Also, recovery socks!!! I love them for my lower legs post workout. I’m sure they’ll send you a pair, just ask! 🙂

i know what you mean about the shins. i live in the mountains, and i run outside every day because there are no gyms in town, and all the hills and uneven dirt roads really do a number on my knees and shins. rest up!

August 11, 2009 at 10:51 amThat looks…FABULOUS! 😀
Hope your shins start feeling better soon! I had the same issue about a week back, but after changing my running form a little after some GREAT reader recommendations, I haven’t had any problems so far. I totally feel your pain though…they’re the worst!

August 11, 2009 at 12:47 pmdon’t you have a forest or a park nearby where you can go running? I think only 30% or less of my runs are on the pavement, the rest I do on a soft sandy ground!
