Chickpea Take Three

Hi guys!

Hows your Monday going? I slept like a ROCK last night…I’m thanking swimming for that one! =)

This morning when I got up around 3:00, I decided to try a new bar for a snack along with a half of a banana

BLAHHHHHH THIS BAR WAS REVOLTING!!!!!!!!! I should never have gotten it because “chocolate raisin” just don’t seem like tastes that go together but I tried anyways. I finished this because I knew I would be starving in an hour if I didn’t but the whole time I wanted to gag!

However, it did give me energy for the first five hours of my workday so I guess not all was lost. At breakfast I finally was able to try the Better Whey of Life yogurt that I received in the mail to sample last Friday:

Now THIS was yummy!! Definitely not as thick as Greek yogurt, but it still contained 15 grams of protein and I thought it tasted like a jolly rancher! πŸ™‚ It was sweet, but not overly sweet and reminded me of Stoneyfield Farms or Dannon. This is a great alternative for those that do not like Greek yogurt but are looking to increase their protein intake.

This morning I mixed the yogurt with a half cup of muesli and topped it with the last of Courtney’s homemade almond butter for a filling breakfast:

Yum!

Work was good and we got out early, which is always sweet on a Monday. For lunch I had chickpea take three…this time rolled up in a Rudi’s wrap and served with another delicious champagne mango!

This was delicious and SUPER filling. Bye bye chickpeas—you lasted me THREE full meals! Amazing πŸ™‚

I’m off to go biking….I have a pretty BIG announcement coming in the afternoon so please stay tuned!

That bar looks pretty nasty to me, but I guess that someone must have thought it was a pretty good idea when they created it. I hope that you have a great run and I cant wait to see some more of your delicious baking recipes soon, havent seen any new ones in a while!!

Just stumbled onto your blog for the first time today and it’s been a genuine pleasure catching up on your thinking. Really like your philosophies on diet and exercise and in particular your thinking on how people consume too much protein. And I loved your yoga post. You are a gifted writer!

Just curious, what was in the chickpea dish? It looks yummy, I would love to try and re-create…was it tomato sauce and spices? or more like tomato paste?

Your wrap looks so delicious- that’s so great you were able to get 3 full meals out of those chickpeas πŸ™‚
I wish I could get my hands on some of that yogurt- it sounds great. And 15 g of protein is a lot!!! Your breakfast looks delish too. Quick questions, what is the difference between muesli and oats? Which do you prefer for staying power? Do you sweeten your muesli with anything?
Have a glorious bike ride! Can’t wait for the big announcement πŸ™‚ Happy Monday, Jenna!

I went to a party and there were chocolate-chip raisin cookies. Maybe if they were oatmeal it’d be ok, but they weren’t. Just normal choc chip cookies with raisins thrown in. I took one bite and threw the rest of the cookie out…and that’s very unlike me to do πŸ™‚

Haha I love your reaction to the bar. I think the only time chocolate and raisins should go together is if they’re chocolate covered raisins. And today I decided to try to replicate the wrap you made a few days ago with the fakin’ bacon and it was absolutely delicious!! I never liked tempeh plain but this stuff is amazing! Thanks for posting it on your blog!! And I’m really excited to hear what this announcement is going to be….

Although it is sort of disturbing to see how huge restaurant portions can be, I LOVE when I can get multiple meals out of one!

Lol, I love how you made that meal stretch three days. Thanks for the review on the bar, I’ll make sure to avoid it. I had the same experience with PB & CO. Raisin Cinnamon PB, It sounds like it should go together, kind of , but YUCK!

Yeah, some bars just taste too chemically, or they try to do too much. Simple ingredients make the best bars. That’s why LARABARs are so great!
