hey guys!
Hope your Tuesday was great! I had a kick butt workout this morning after I finally pulled myself out of my nice warm bed. Here’s what I did:
couple minutes on the treadmill to warm up (note to self: don’t run…ankle still hurts. lesson learned. fast.)
2 sets of lat raises with 10 lbs
2 sets of shoulder press with 10 lb dumbbells
3 sets of push-ups on bosu ball
3 sets of wall squats against stability ball
2 sets each leg, lunges on bosu ball
2 sets tricep pulldowns on machine
2 sets adductor machine, 60 lbs
2 sets abductor machine, 60 lbs
4 sets crunches on bosu ball
total time = 30 minutes
After my workout I had the second half of my amazing grass protein bar from yesterday. Sorry, recycled photo!
Lunch was sooooooo yummy
A morningstar veggie burger on a whole wheat Arnold’s Sandwich Thin with a laughing cow cheese, hummus and hot sauce. + 2 clementines that I grabbed from work yesterday!
This afternoon I got my hair cut and highlighted and it was maaarvelous. I’m the type of girl that sticks with their same hairdresser for YEARS (I’ve had the same one since I was, like, 15 and we still keep in touch) so I was pretty nervous going somewhere totally new and random here in Santa Rosa. However, I googled Aveda salons and found a GREAT one on the first shot! (You can never really go wrong with an Aveda salon, can you?!) I didn’t do anything crazy to my hair (trying to grow it out), but she did layer it a bit and texturize it so it hung less like a mop. 😉 I love it!
When I finally got home, I snacked on a half cup of yogurt with a little bit of almond butter and raspberry jam—-
And then for dinner, I hit up Diavola with Hardy, Tracy (Hardy’s girlfriend), Broderick and Adam. SOOOOOO good!!!! Especially when started with Prosecco 😉
We all split some appetizers. My favorite was the scallops!
We all split two pizzas for dinner. We ordered one Margharita and one Cha Cha Cha (oooh yeahhh):
I had one slice of the Margharita and 2 slices of the Cha Cha Cha….the Cha Cha Cha was AWESOME! It had pork belly and goat cheese on it…a match made in heaven if there ever was one.
Some of you have asked if I’m now actively trying to lose the 10 lbs I’ve gained since September. The answer is no. However, that being said, I think once my life calms down a little bit, the weight will probably come off naturally. I’m naturally a pretty slender girl and I think my body will once again stabilize at the weight it’s been for years. However, I’m fine at this size and wouldn’t mind sticking here.
Night!

November 24, 2009 at 9:35 pmI love Aveda. Everything smells amazing there, even the soap in the bathroom. I make up excuses to go wash my hands 🙂
The blonder ‘do is very California. I love it…almost as much as I love Prosecco!

November 24, 2009 at 9:41 pmThe dinner looks incredible–your hair too! The hairdresser did a super job. I’ve also had the same blunt-cut/just past shoulders blonde hair for years.
I just learned some exciting wine news tonight on FaceBook The boutique wine served at the first White House State Dinner of this administration tonight is from a Napa winery! A ’08 Modus Operandi Cellars Sauvignon blanc. Young nice, married winemaker with a young child. Very cool…pix of their nice family: http://www.moduswines.com/

November 25, 2009 at 1:53 amI don’t usually comment, but I just wanted to say you look fantastic! (not to sound too sycophantic ;p). California obviously suits you well and you’ve definitely got the ‘California glow’. It’s good to see you enjoying life so much, but your blog always makes me feel so hungry! 🙂

November 25, 2009 at 3:02 amOMG, I love your haircut! Haha, maybe I’m just biased because I personally like to wear layered, thin styles such as that, but seriously–it’s gorgeous! 😀 That Cha Cha Cha pizza sounds so good. Pork belly? On pizza? Genius.

November 25, 2009 at 3:22 amOh man, that dinner looks fabulous. Scallops are the sea’s little miracles.
Your hair looks gorgeous! I understand what you mean regarding hairstylist loyalty. When I first moved to NYC and hardly knew any one, my hairstylist was my rock and closest friend. She ended up moving to CA after 2 years, and for me to find a new one has been like getting over a break-up and comparing all my new hairstylists to her. I still haven’t found my match!
Great job on the workout! Looks like you’re really moving and grooving despite the ankle injury, way to be strong!

November 25, 2009 at 5:20 amLove the hair-do! I go to an Aveda salon as well, it is really the only place that I trust esp since I color my hair and their products are gentle and plant based. They are also the first beauty company in the world to achieve cradle to cradle sustainibility endorsement, so I feel good about using their products both on my hair and for the environment!

November 25, 2009 at 6:11 amJenna, I never noticed that you have blonde hair and dark eyebrows until now. I do, too, and people ALWAYS ask if I dye my hair; no one believes that it’s natural, with such dark eyebrows.

Oh man, I have vowed to try pork belly sometime in my life. Obviously not something one would eat everyday, but all I ever read and hear about is how amazing it is!

December 1, 2009 at 6:09 amAmy,
Hmmm I actually really am a natural blonde! 🙂 Once, in high school, I dyed my hair dark brown but since then I’ve gone back to my roots.
