Well, kiddos, it’s about that time again. Time for Feta Friday, that is.
You all know the drill by now. Except this time, I want to hear about the BEST moment of your life. When did you feel your absolute best? Could be your wedding day, the day you graduated college, the day your kids were born or the day you mastered low fat salad dressings. I won’t judge.
I’ll pick a random winner by ten pm PST this evening—go!

I fiinished my AP Macro exam. It was beast

I think it has to be the day I got married. Totally cheesy, I know. There was just something amazing that happened that day. I married my best friend and could not stop smiling. There are no words.
LizJuly 23, 2010 at 6:30 am
The best day of my life is actually kinda strange: it was the day I got into medical school. And then about two hours later on the same day when I decided NOT to go to medical school. I had worked four years straight studying my butt off to go to med school, but had never really stepped back and asked myself if I even wanted to be a doctor. Well, it turns out I didn’t. I was able to let that go and move forward. I got married, moved across the country, and am pursing things that I actually want to do! SO so so so happy!
jackieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:45 am
i applaud you for going with your gut. i know how difficult it is to even begin the process of amcas!! not to mention everything else before it. best of luck!
KathrynJuly 23, 2010 at 6:33 am
definitely my wedding day 🙂 (although the honeymoon was a close 2nd!)…or maybe the day I got my puppy who is definitely my baby. Lots to choose from!
ChristineJuly 23, 2010 at 6:34 am
The best day of my life is when I met my father’s side of the family in Nicaragua and got to see the place where he grew up in and see my history. I can still remember every detail from that day it was so beautiful.
VeroniqueJuly 23, 2010 at 6:34 am
It has to be the day I graduated. It never sunk in until the actual convocation ceremony, but seeing my parents there (cheering really embarassingly loud for me), brought the biggest amount of joy I had ever experienced. I made my parents truly proud (to the point where my mom was in tears), and that is a feeling that can never be replaced. They have invested so much of their money and time to put me through school, and the fact that I respected this and successfully graduated from University with honours was a proud moment for everyone, especially myself. 🙂
AlyssaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:35 am
It would be my wedding day – the feeling you have that day, knowing that is the only place you should be – is amazing!
saramariesueJuly 23, 2010 at 6:35 am
Leaving home and knowing I could survive in a whole new world on my own. With this brought healthly living, eating and caring more about what I brought into my life & what I gave out.
alexaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:36 am
The day I felt the greatest wasn’t the day I graduated from college, but the day I received my college acceptance letter. I was so excited to start a new chapter of my life!
AshleyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:37 am
The best day of my life so far was when I signed on the dotted line to by my first house at the early age of 22. I’m about to turn 25 and it still feels a little crazy that I have my own house.
yanaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:37 am
It might sound boring but i’m not one for grand celebrations or cornerstone events(graduations, engagements….) I enjoy the process:) So best day of my life would be any one of the 3 days i spent with my boyfriend in the mountains when we hardly knew eachother. It was magical 🙂 Hope i win!
JaimeJuly 23, 2010 at 6:38 am
is it bad if i think my best moment has yet to come. that sounds so depressing and all…but i really feel like my new focus in life makes for an opening for some great things.
lisaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:38 am
I don’t know if I’ve had the BEST time of my life yet. I have been so blessed so far, I would like to believe that my whole life promises more best moments… although hearing the pride in my Mum and Dad’s voices when I told them I’d landed a job with my dream company was pretty wonderful.
StephanieJuly 23, 2010 at 6:39 am
Delivering my son! The best day of my life. hands down.
MicheleJuly 23, 2010 at 6:39 am
Of all the wonderful moments and days in my life, I still say the BEST and HAPPIEST day was the day I graduated from law school. Nothing could have made that day better!!!
courtneyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:40 am
the day i moved to spain completely on my own. the scariest and most amazing experience ever.
AndreaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:40 am
I remember feeling my best sitting on the beach in Maui for my honeymoon, rocking my favorite swimsuit after lots of hard work, and sipping a delicious coconut porter out of a can. I look back at the picture and it makes me smile knowing that day was just perfect.
KimJuly 23, 2010 at 6:41 am
The best day of my life is kind of hard to pin down. My wedding day was awesome, but in the year and a half since my wedding I feel like my husband and I know each other even more and love each other even more, so it’s hard not to see one of our normal around-the-house, laughing together days as even better than the wedding day. So I’m going with that. The week after we moved into our new house we had days together of just us, doing stuff, shopping for furniture, laughing together. I loved it!
CanJuly 23, 2010 at 6:42 am
The day that I graduated from college/the day that I finally decided on what law school I would attend. Both happened on the same day- graduating from college was wonderful, and FINALLY deciding on a law school after months and months of deliberation was also such a relief.
JulJuly 23, 2010 at 6:42 am
College graduation. 🙂 Never felt such an incredible sense of accomplishment.
JulieneJuly 23, 2010 at 6:42 am
Best day of my life was hands down the day my husband proposed. It was sentimental and so personal. I had never felt more blessed or loved than in that very moment! Great question!
SaraJuly 23, 2010 at 6:42 am
No doubt, it was the day I got engaged 7 years ago! It was in Napa at a very secluded winery with nobody else around. Followed by a Oakville Grocery picnic overlooking the winery’s lake. The very best day of my life with the one I love.
CarolineJuly 23, 2010 at 6:43 am
My wedding day. I got to marry my best friend and the love of my life.
candiceJuly 23, 2010 at 6:43 am
I think my best day is still yet to come but…The day I got the call that I landed my fantastic job was a pretty amazing day.
JessicaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:43 am
the day i graduated college 1st in my class of 1000 or so! and i only found out the day before so it was a big surprise : )
ShannonJuly 23, 2010 at 6:43 am
The absolute best moment of my life was when I went on vacation with my best friend from home…we went to Chicago last summer and I have never laughed so hard, eaten so much brunch, or drank so much wine in my entire freaking life. It was blissful. Oh and I met a cute boy at a bar. Tehe. 😉
moxie79July 23, 2010 at 6:43 am
I’ve been sitting here for five minutes, and I cannot think of one single best day, although I can think of hundreds of days where I felt as happy as I imagine could be possible. So perhaps my best day is yet to come?
KimberlyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:44 am
The day my best friend got married to an awesome guy!
Kimberly LeeJuly 23, 2010 at 6:45 am
The best day of my life was when my daughter was born. In that moment, I saw the beauty life that was created out of love between my husband and I, I feel deeper in love with my husband, and was utterly amazed that my body had nutured that life. Giving birth helped me to finally embrace my body for what it does rather than what it looks like — that was HUGE for me!
Maria @ lapiattini.blogspot.comJuly 23, 2010 at 6:45 am
The best day of my life had to be when my niece Isabella was born!
AlishaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:45 am
The best moment of my life will probably be this weekend when my husband and I will finally be able to have a weekend to ourselves after almost two months of living with our parents – urgghh. That’s right, we are a 24-25 year old couple, married for 4 years and we are living with our parents. This weekend will be full of peace and quiet, fun and laughter, and lots of make up sex – 2 months is a long time to be living with family and returning back to your shoe box of a childhood bedroom. And the summer isn’t even over yet, blah, 4 o’clock can’t come fast enough 🙂
HollyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:45 am
The day I passed my last section of the CPA exam. 2 years of my life gone but at least I passed
JenniferJuly 23, 2010 at 2:43 pm
I am 2 parts passed, one more part taken (waiting on score), and studying for another part (taking in Aug.). Been studying for a year now and the day I pass the 4 part will def be a happy day!
Lisa A. A.July 23, 2010 at 6:45 am
Just one???? Impossible to choose when I met my hubby by pure luck at age 19, got married (12 yrs. ago) and now have 2 children. The perfect days are frequent because we enjoy adventures and life as a family!
MelanieJuly 23, 2010 at 6:45 am
My best day? The day that my now-husband showed up at my job and told me to dump my then-boyfriend to be with him!
EmilyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:46 am
I decided to leave a job and place that was making me unhappy, take a leap of faith, and move to the city where I always wanted to live. The first day, after moving, where I really woke up and saw how much I had to do with changing my life for the better was my best ever day. Not that you know anything about that, Jenna… 🙂
AmandaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:46 am
Any day that I’m with my besties! Looooooove them!
HeatherJuly 23, 2010 at 6:47 am
The day I found out I passed my 3rd level exam for my CFA charter and was finally able to obtain the designation. I waited for (and worked for) that day for 3 years, and it felt so great when it arrived.
Sweet Mama JaneJuly 23, 2010 at 6:47 am
The day we got engaged. It was just my perfect day. Just me with my husband, playing on a beach… we went kayaking and snorkling and drank blender drinks at sunset. Right before he popped the question, I remarked it was my perfect day. Then it got even better! And we ended it with an amazing dinner and a bottle of champagne at sunset. Ahhhh…..
ChristyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:47 am
As cheesy as it is, my wedding day was the best day of my life. All of our friends and family were able to make it and we danced the entire night. We were the last ones to leave! It could not have been any better. 🙂
meghanJuly 23, 2010 at 6:47 am
Not to be a downer but it was breaking off my engagement w my ex. It was not a good relationship and I knew I needed to do it for some time. A huge weight was lifted when I did : )
CristinJuly 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
My wedding day was pretty amazing but I think the best moment was when my husband and I were in the car on the way to the hotel we were staying at that night. We just sat together and marveled at how wonderful the day at been! It was special.
RachelJuly 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
My wedding day will forever be one of the greatest days of my life. A close second is definitely the day I found out that I passed the final section of the CPA exam. I realize these two events are completely different! Hopefully one day I can say the day that my child is born will be best the best day of my life!
KateJuly 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
The day I found out I passed the bar exam!
KatieJuly 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
The best day – so far! – was the day I graduated college, because I knew I was going home to start the rest of my life.
MaryJuly 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
The best moment of my life was the first time I was able to take a few steps after breaking my back. I have a lot of spinal cord damage and the doctors were not sure if I would be able to walk ever again. It was so emotional!
Anya @ Fitness & SunshineJuly 23, 2010 at 6:48 am
This is pretty hard 🙂
One of the best moments of my life involves taking a walk through fields of wheat near my grandparent’s farm with my cousin and looking at the sunset, surrounded by miles and miles of wheat. It was beautiful. <3
CamilleJuly 23, 2010 at 6:49 am
The best moment of my life (so far!) was crossing the finish line of my first marathon. I have never felt so proud to be me in my entire life!
AnneJuly 23, 2010 at 6:49 am
The day I passed my nurse practitioner boards!! I was so happy after working so hard and giving up so much free time for years. Now I can do whatever I like in my free time…run…cook…read…see people I saw far too infrequently!
marieJuly 23, 2010 at 6:49 am
best moment of my life? you ask tough reflection questions, girl! being in paris with my mom was definitely one of the best moments of my life, so far!
SamanthaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:49 am
It hasn’t happened yet, but I’m really looking forward to the day I’m no longer working my current job and get to work at something I’m passionate about!
*Andrea*July 23, 2010 at 6:50 am
i felt my absolute best when i graduated college this may with honors & cum laude 🙂
NicoleJuly 23, 2010 at 6:50 am
My best moment was when I crossed the finish line of my first half that I successfully trained for. I had ran one before but got injured and felt defeated by it. The second one I mastered 🙂
Alyssa @ bride to be fitJuly 23, 2010 at 6:50 am
The day I got engaged was my best day, hands down, so far. We were in st. Thomas on vacation, woke up for an early morning run, had breakfast overlooking the ocean, went to the beach all day, then a nice little nap after a few afternoon cocktails, put on a pretty sundress for dinner, and then a handsome boy knelt in the sand at sunset. Perfection!
AngieJuly 23, 2010 at 6:51 am
The best moment of my life was the day I found out I was pregnant. My daughter will be one on Monday, and there have been a million amazing moments in the past 20 or so months, but I can still remember that feeling of watching the the second line turn pink.
Nora@LifeLifeEatRightJuly 23, 2010 at 6:52 am
The best day of my life…hmm…When I was little my dad would take me to the park. Just us. I remember one time he packed lemonade and snacks and we hung out in the sunshine, played baseball and had fun on the jungle gym. Sounds simple but it was so special to me thoughtful. I think quality time and moments like that are my favorite days.
ChristinaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:52 am
The day I realized I had conquered my fear of flying. I got on a plane to fly across the country (as I did several times a year to visit family), sat down, opened a magazine and it wasn’t until we had been in the air for 20 minutes that I realized I was able to sleep the night before, there was no throwing up in the airport bathroom, there was no Xanax – just me, my magazine and my oddly calm nerves. I had been flying for over 10 years, hating every second of it and had worked hard to overcome it. It was a huge moment for me… A very powerful inner confidence erupted from that. 😉
LaurenJuly 23, 2010 at 6:53 am
It is too close to call between the day I got married, and the day we got engaged. Obviously my wedding day was incredible for so many reasons, but the day we got engaged was so wonderful too. We had planned to fly to Seattle just for a day (something we never never do), to see a baseball game. Our favorite team was playing against the Mariners. He had a surprise plan as well, and led me to this amazing old theater. He had set it up for us to get in when they were closed and be the only ones in the huge and beautiful auditorium. That’s where he proposed!!! I had been waiting for quite awhile, and was so incredibly happy!
AngelaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:55 am
The best day of my life, now that’s easy! It was definitely the first day of my husband and I’s honeymoon 🙂
It was the second marriage for both of us, but it was the first time either of us had been out of the country. There was something so exciting about sharing that experience together, when so many of the other marriage “firsts” were lost to our relationship through our first marriages. We truly felt like we were embarking on a lifelong journey of love & discovery together. In fact, that honeymoon was such a special day for both of us that we have gone back each and every year since to the same beach on the same island! <3
LizzyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:55 am
the best moment in my life had to bee last october when i crossed the finish line of my first half marathon! the feeling of accomplishment was so overwhelming i actually cried my heart out! I’ll never forget that moment for as long as i live!
emilyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:55 am
The day I completed my first half-marathon! Plus it was on Thanksgiving Day so I was free to heat my body weight in turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie 🙂
ChristinaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:55 am
My best day so far was getting my first apartment with my boyfriend! We slept on the floor the first night with nothing in our apartment but a few pillows, a blanket, and some snacks; we were SO excited, lol.
CallinaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:56 am
The best moment of my life is also sort of hard for me to pin down. I can’t really think in terms of days or specific moments but more in terms of feelings. The feeling when I finally came to a realization about what it is I want to do with my career, after spending several years in turmoil over the subject, was pretty awesome.
KatelynJuly 23, 2010 at 6:56 am
The day I got offered my new job in a brand new city… so exciting!
Katie HeddlestonJuly 23, 2010 at 6:56 am
Definitely my wedding day 🙂
molly l.July 23, 2010 at 6:57 am
the best day of my life is every day that i get to be with my husband. after 3 1/2 years of a long distance relationship, 3 deployments and spending over half our first year of marriage 5,000 miles apart in the middle east, every day that the Navy lets me be in the same country, zip code, & house as my husband is a day i will soak in and never ever take for granted.
BetsyHJuly 23, 2010 at 6:57 am
This may sound completely corny, but right now is my best moment. I’m tired from not sleeping well. I’m uncomfortable from the heat and my protruding belly. But I feel my precious L Bean kicking away at my insides, and that is the BEST. My husband kissed me goodbye this morning. Then his leaned down and kissed my belly goodbye. Up to today, it doesn’t get much better than that.
Mary CatherineJuly 23, 2010 at 6:57 am
By far the best moment in my life was when I got accepted into the University of Texas at Austin. I grew up as a Longhorn (orange blood!) and the thought of going anywhere else just didn’t sit well with me. I remember checking online every day to see if a decision had been made and when I finally saw the acceptance, I jumped up and down and screamed with joy for hours. Hook ’em horns 🙂
KendallJuly 23, 2010 at 7:37 am

The best moment of my life was when I woke up one morning and felt a perfect, gorgeous, wonderful sense of ease and beauty. I felt full of bubbles and sunshine and it was wonderful. I don’t even know why I felt like that, and it was about ten years ago, but it felt fantastic.
Beth @ DiningAndDishingJuly 23, 2010 at 6:58 am
The best moment of my life was when I won “Newscaster of the Year” in my final year of college. For me, it was what I must imagine winning and Emmy is like…I lost my mind!
TristaJuly 23, 2010 at 6:59 am
The best day of my life…. So many to choose from as I have been incredibly blessed! I would have to say the day I ran my first race (10k) because I was so proud of myself and had never in a million years thought I could be a runner.
CoreyJuly 23, 2010 at 6:59 am
One of my best moments was finishing the Boston Marathon with my mom – I can’t even describe it. One of the happiest days ever.
SandyJuly 23, 2010 at 7:00 am
So many and I’m too old to remember the emotion of each of them but I’m going to pick my oldest son’s wedding last summer. I loved my dress, I felt fit and fabulous and it was a wonderful occasion with lots of laughter and dancing.
CocoJuly 23, 2010 at 7:00 am
i am only 22, so i am hoping i haven’t had the BEST day of my life yet, but so far, i’d have to say it is this:
the day i arrived in paris in may 2009 and walked up the steps of sacre couer. the sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and a man was playing the guitar and singing. i sat on the steps and sang along, watching the people and looking out to the city below. perfection <3
ReneeJuly 23, 2010 at 7:00 am
best day of my life was definitely when I got engaged! this past May my long-time b.f. of 5 years whisked me away to Napa for the weekend as a surprise and proposed there at a restaurant called Brix (awesome place if you are in Napa area:)
lauraJuly 23, 2010 at 7:00 am
The best day (week?) of my life was spring break w all of my best friends from college. It was our senior year, we went to cancun, and it was a great way to wrap up college. We had such a great time, ill never forget it!!
Tracey @ I'm Not SuperhumanJuly 23, 2010 at 7:00 am
My wedding day was pretty awesome, but right up there in Best Day Ever status is the first time I went sky diving. It was a huge adrenaline rush but also stress-relieving and peaceful at the same time.
postcollegecookJuly 23, 2010 at 7:01 am
I could say my wedding day, but that seems so cliche (although it probably was my best day ever). But second up was the day I ran the Chicago Marathon. It was the most fun ever. I was high on life the entire day!

Possibly one of the best moments in my life so far was a conversation I had with my fiance (boyfriend at the time). It was the moment I realized I could not be with anyone else for the rest of my life because no one has ever believed in me or supported me the way he does.

One of the top, best days of my life was June 24, 2007, when I sailed into Poland after being away from home for a year and starting in Vancouver. Realizing how far I came since Vancouver made me SO proud of myself!

Passing the bar!
JennJuly 23, 2010 at 7:04 am
Probably my wedding day.
JenniferJuly 23, 2010 at 7:04 am
I can think of two…the last 100 meters of my first marathon, crossing the finish line, and getting a huge, teary hug from my mom afterward would be one. The other is the moment that my husband and I were introduced as husband and wife, and all of our family and friends stood and cheered. Both moments still give me goose bumps because they were filled with such complete and utter joy.
KatieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:04 am
I’ll take the easy route and say my wedding. But I will say as far as feeling good about myself, the past week has been a close second. I have decided to go vegetarian and feel so incredibly good after just one week! I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true!

My best moment wasn’t really a day or second in time but a space in time full of smiles, loves and happiness when I spent the summer in Greece with my grandma.
We’ve been close my whole life but I’ll never forget that summer being spoiled rotten with love and indulgence as only a grandmother would do for her granddaughter. Every day was made of nothing but fresh air, sunshine and love.

Day 2 or 3 of our honeymoon in Napa 🙂 My wedding day was amazing, but it still had some stressful moments… Our honeymoon was pure bliss!!

The day my twins were born

one of the best momemts I ever had was when I was in the midst of losing weight. I went to the store to buy jeans and I got into a size 8. When I started the journey I was in a tight twelve and it was to much for me because I am pretty short. So that was the best feeling. I did a dance in the dressing room and then cried a little. LOL
KatieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:07 am
Definitely one of the best moments of my life was when I finished my most recent semester at school with the best GPA I’ve ever busted my behind for. I encountered SO many setbacks throughout the semester, including mono, and still persevered! I’m still so proud of myself for sticking through it all.

I’m echoing some others here but my wedding day was absolutely amazing. Even though I was sick (had to get an emergency Z-Pack that morning…boo) and it was the coldest, rainiest day of the entire month I got to marry my best friend and love of my life. That moment when the church doors opened and I saw my husband standing there at the alter waiting for me is something I will never forget.

BEST moment was when my boyfriend proposed 😉 It was so perfect. I am so excited to marry him next year!

This is tough. I would say the day I got married, followed by a close second the day I finished the bar exam an in third the day I found out I passed.

While I’m not sure that I can pick just one best moment of my whole life, I can tell you about the best moment I’ve experienced recently! Last week I hit my lowest weight since high school. Though I’m still not at my goal weight, this was a huge achievement for me and I am so thrilled because not only is the scale moving in the right direction, but I’m filling self-confident and strong and proud of myself for all my hard work. It doesn’t get much better than that!
JesJuly 23, 2010 at 7:14 am
When i graduated college… I am the only person in my family to accomplish this so far! I felt so proud and accomplished. I was happy to be a good role model for my little sister who was also in college, and now she is getting ready to graduate =)
JenJuly 23, 2010 at 7:15 am
Definitely, the best day of my life so far was the day that I graduated college. I had moved away from my family (out of state) when I was 17, and the whole family actually came up to visit me for the first time (after 6 years)! It felt so good having everyone there and celebrating my hard work, and so good to feel like all those years of effort – working full time and going to school full time while rocking an internship and volunteering really paid off. I really don’t think I’ve felt as special since – but I know the time will come again!

THe day Abbi turned one.
She was still alive. I was still alive. I no longer felt the fog of my post baby yuck, and the stress of her birth was a year behind me. Dan and I had moved closer to family and she (Abbi) was so happy. She was still so tiny (only 17 pounds) bu so happy. We had a huge party. She is loved. We loved her and each other. The Lord was still there! 🙂
XOXO little sis. Please don’t pick me. I hate feta cheese. I just loved this question and I love you!! XOXO Big sis.
AmyJuly 23, 2010 at 7:15 am
Any ordinary day at the lake with my husband and I watching our sons try to catch fish by hand and surf on blow up air mats. Lovley family, sun, cool water…that’s the day!
KimJuly 23, 2010 at 7:15 am
I felt my absolute best the first time I traveled and lived in Spain by myself. I was 19, alone, and learning so much about myself and the world- nothing can top that feeling!
MayaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:16 am
One of the best days in my life was playing in the ocean in Hawaii when I first moved there. I was proud of myself for realizing my dream of living in Hawaii! Crossing the finish line of the Honolulu Marathon was pretty spectacular, too.
KaraJuly 23, 2010 at 7:16 am
I felt my absolute best the day AFTER my wedding. No makeup, ratty hair, no stress, on a beach, content and happy with my husband and several good books. Ahhh, that was such a great day!
MeganJuly 23, 2010 at 7:16 am
When I spend a week with my family on the most glorious vacation ever…nothing like spending time with the closet 30 people to me!
BlissJuly 23, 2010 at 7:17 am
Mmmm…the best day was probably my wedding day too. We planned it in 10 weeks but all of my extended family and friends came in from out of state – one of my bridesmaids didn’t arrive until 10am that morning and left at 9am the next day to get back to her medical school rotation! It made me feel very loved.

This past weekend!!! I went back home to upstate NY (I live in Orlando now) for a combo of my 10 year high school reunion and my BFF’s bachelorette party (we did a wine tour around the finger lakes of NY-it was wonderful btw!) and it was just so amazing and healing to spend time with my oldest girlfriends and catch up and, of course, drink WINE!
jessJuly 23, 2010 at 7:17 am
swimming in lake lugano in switzerland… it was such a rush of feeling to be with my best friends, swimming in the melted snow from the surrounding alps. beautiful.
ToriJuly 23, 2010 at 7:18 am
That’s a hard one! One of my best days was Christmas a few years ago. It was the first one after my parents divorced, and I made Christmas dinner all by myself. I had a great morning with my dad, had an early dinner with my best friend and her family and then when my mom and her new husband got in late that night we had my dinner. It was a good yet bittersweet day. It showed me that I had truly grown up and everything would be okay despite my parents no longer being together.
MJuly 23, 2010 at 7:18 am
What a about a best week? Going back to Vermont for vacation, tubing down a river, eating chicken salad, staying up late bbqing.
VirginiaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:18 am
I think it would be when I got accepted into an incredibly difficult education program. It’s in the arts, so I felt like they were judging me and my creativity, not just my work. Knowing that they wanted me was a huge accomplishment!
Laura TJuly 23, 2010 at 7:18 am
Hmm I’d have to say it was one of the days I spent in Thailand while I was studying abroad. We spent the day/night with a local village in the middle of nowhere, and it was so nice to disconnect for a bit
KendallJuly 23, 2010 at 7:19 am
Probably when I gave my first tour of the US Capitol during my Congressional Internship. I was 21-years-old, and leading a group of fifteen Texans throughout the underground veins of the Capitol. I felt so accomplished sharing the secrets of our nation’s history with such an attentive group.
samanthaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:20 am
thats a tough one! i think i’ll go with finishing my first marathon and having my mom hug me at the end 🙂
MaryZJuly 23, 2010 at 7:20 am
The best moment of my life has to be the day my husband proposed to me. It was totally unexpected at that moment…I had been home sick for a couple of days and he insisted on taking me out to dinner for my birthday. I wasn’t really feeling it, but he was so determined to get me out of the house. So, I beautified my red nose and eyes the best I could and went out for a romantic dinner. It ended up being the most fabulous evening of my life!

The day that I stepped on the scale and saw that I gained 5 pounds after my first month in ED recovery! 🙂
Jen HJuly 23, 2010 at 7:21 am
It’s a 3 way tie for me: my wedding day, and the day each of my 2 daughters was born 🙂
AlyssaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:21 am
best day ever: day I ran my first 5k! Having been overweight for so long and literally having the life goal of running one mile without stopping-to accomplish that was so amazing. I’m now 4 5ks, and 1 10k down-and am hoping to do a half-marathon soon.
laurenJuly 23, 2010 at 7:21 am
The day I was most proud of myself was when I finished my first 5K. I had never been an athletic person, but I had just lost 20 pounds and gained the confidence to try running. I may have come in 2nd to last, but I felt like I had just won the NYC marathon when I crossed that finish line

Little things make me the most happy. I’ve been working with my little brother and we laugh so much together. Spending time with him makes me really happy!

The day I married my best friend!
ShoeZqJuly 23, 2010 at 7:23 am
I would have to say the best day of my life has to be on my 30th birthday. My husband and I were sitting on a beach in Mexico sipping on Mojitos and 3:00 p.m. rolled around and it was then that I suddenly realized it WAS my birthday. The beach and the ocean (and possibly the mojitos) made me forget right up until that very moment.
MeganJuly 23, 2010 at 7:23 am
The best day of my life was the day my second child was born. My husband and older son, who was three-years-old, at the time, were both on the hospital bed with me. Everyone was cuddled together enjoying our new, beautiful little person and being a mom, my emotions got the best of me. I have never felt more proud, happy, excited and scared in my entire life.
Rebekah @RebeltarianJuly 23, 2010 at 7:23 am
Probably the first time I ran seven miles. I had no idea I was even capable of it! It was the hugest high.
Heather (Heather's Dish)July 23, 2010 at 7:25 am
wedding day, hands down. i’ve never felt more beautiful than when i saw my husband tear up as i walked down the isle 🙂
LauraJuly 23, 2010 at 7:26 am
My favorite moment is really a collection of moments and all have to do with my husband Roman. Our first couple of months together were spent learning about each other, wanting to know everything, not wanting to be apart. Then moving to Thailand and navigating foreign lands and foods as we traveled to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bali and learned even more about each other. To now, where we have a rhythm and a deep understanding of each other. While having a mate isn’t the most important thing for some people, for me, while I work on my Master’s and become professionally the person I want to be, it is an amazing feeling to know we are sharing a life and rooting each other on all the way while still having grand adventures.
GretchenJuly 23, 2010 at 7:26 am
The best moment of my life was when I hiked up a mountain in Andorra, camped there for a night, and watched the full moon rise over the Pyrenees…so lovely.
StephanieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:27 am
My best day was the day I got my kitten Bella. She’s been an amazing addition to my life recently. I love watching her run around playing with her stuffed mice, going after the toilet paper roll, playing on her cat tree….just about everything she does.
LeanneJuly 23, 2010 at 7:27 am
Hands down, it was my wedding day. It may be cliche but saying my vows in front of everyone that we love was a moment I’ll never forget. I mean the day I discovered green monsters was also pretty day! 🙂
Jess @ MTL VeggieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:28 am
Hmm this is hard for me to pin down, I’ve got it tied between two:
1) The day I moved to Montreal. I had literally just graduated from university the day before and the next day I was starting my dream job in marketing. It was the end and beginning of two big chapters of my life 🙂
2) The day I moved in with my boyfriend (2 years after I had moved to Montreal). I had never before even considered taking this step with any other person and the day we did, it felt so right.
KrisJuly 23, 2010 at 7:28 am
I think the best day of my life was when we moved back from three years in Germany to Virginia. It felt so good to be back to what I considered home, even though I loved exploring Germany and Europe.
CaraJuly 23, 2010 at 7:28 am
My wedding day!!! It was the best day of my life!!!!!

It was honestly the day I realized that it’s my life and I need to seize it while I can 🙂
LeanneJuly 23, 2010 at 7:30 am
It has got to be my wedding day. Saying my vows in front of everyone that we love is a moment I’ll never defer and cherish.
Finishing a half marathon with both of my siblings was also a pretty incredible day as well.
ErikaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:30 am
Every day I wake up is the best day, but to pick just one… it was a random day that I decided to leave work early. My husband also left work early and we spent the entire day together. There had been a huge snow storm so we played outside in the snow all afternoon. It was so simple and thinking of that day always makes me smile.
LouiseJuly 23, 2010 at 7:30 am
I had just lost forty pounds and was celebrating by vacationing in NYC. It was the best trip of my life!
NadineJuly 23, 2010 at 7:30 am
Finishing my first half marathon and knowing that I was strong, healthy and able to accomplish epic things.
KarlaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:31 am
The best day of my life was actually when my son received an overall sportsmanship award at a golf camp he attended. I really can’t describe the moment that they called his name – I felt so proud of him and really good about myself as the mother raising him! It said so much about the kind of person he’s becoming and his character!
BrittanyJuly 23, 2010 at 7:32 am
The day I adopted my cat, Dozer. We’re soul mates I swear!
kristinJuly 23, 2010 at 7:33 am
This is not particular “event” per se but one time when I was about to graduate undergrad and I was finally recovered from a 3 year eating disorder I was driving in my car on a sunny day just feeling so FREE and purely happy for no reason… That’s probably the best I’ve ever felt.
CarrieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:34 am
The best day of my life so far was probably during a mini-vacation with my mom and sister. They came to drive with me from Florida back to New York after a very rough year. Our day included a run, the beach, pedicures, shopping and lots of delicious food! It was perfect.
karaJuly 23, 2010 at 7:34 am
I have to agree with the many others that said my wedding day. Best day ever!
JessJuly 23, 2010 at 7:34 am
The best day of my life was the third date with my future husband. That was the day I fell completely in love with him. I had never felt that kind of total, unabashed abandon. I knew we were totally connected and meant to spend forever together.
I had this feeling of complete contentment, peace, and pure joy. A huge smile came across my face. It hasn’t left since.

announcing to my family that, after years of trying, we were pregnant!
DanielleJuly 23, 2010 at 7:39 am
The best moment of my life when when I was studying abroad in Italy this past fall. Do you know when you are looking at something beautiful, whether it be nature, a historic building, or simply a pretty sunset — and you are overcome with how pretty it is that you just feel like crying (or is that just crazy old me that that happens to?? ;)) Well, I pretty much felt like that every day when I was there. It was amazing!
LeslieJuly 23, 2010 at 7:39 am
This is going to sound odd, but the best day of my life was the day I finished my first half marathon. I am not an athlete, but I joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program figuring it would help me accomplish such an unthinkable goal. Along the way I raised a few thousand dollars towards research for a cure, and met some of the most inspiring people. One of my teammates was doing the race in celebration of his 20th anniversary of being diagnosed with leukemia – he’s done 15 other races with TNT in the intervening years AND had 3 subsequent cancers as a result of the treatments they gave him to cure him the first time 20 years ago. The entire season changed my life, but something about crossing that line on my own that day really put the seal on the change: I can do anything. And I can help others while doing it. What could be better than that?

The best moment of my life was the moment I saw my husband (then soon-to-be) standing at the end of the aisle at our wedding. The doors opened. I was on my father’s arm. I felt beautiful! All of my friends and family were there. And there he was with a big grin on his face looking SO handsome. I had waited so long for that moment and I will never forget it.
BethJuly 23, 2010 at 7:46 am
Probably pretty cliche, but the moment my husband proposed and my wedding day were both pretty spectacular. Finding out I had been chosen to be on our school’s Math Counts team was also pretty awesome (because I am that big of a nerd :)). I suppose that finishing my first marathon ranks right up there with the best moments as well!
Jackie @ TritoLoseJuly 23, 2010 at 7:46 am
The best day of my life was probably my wedding day. We had so much fun – I would do it all again in a heart beat. We got married in the same place that my grandparents and my parents did and then we celebrated at Miller Park. I even got to run with the racing sausages. 🙂
TrishJuly 23, 2010 at 7:48 am
One of the best moments happened in 2004 when I completed my first, and to date only, half marathon. It had been a goal of mine for a few years and it was gratifying to complete!!! I hope to do it again soon.

The best moment of my life was watching Monty, a black lab who I had raised from 8 wks to 1.5 years, graduate as a service dog. I passed the leash from my hands into his new owner, a man with muscular dystrophy.
I felt proud. Sad. Happy. Excited. Nervous. Bittersweet. And I’ll never forget any of those feelings or that moment of watching Monty graduate.
Carly (Swim, Run, Om)July 23, 2010 at 7:49 am
When I completed my final college exam. It was a Wednesday, and graduation was Saturday. I remember walking around campus and just being flooded over with emotion. It was always my life plan to go to college – there was never a real question that I wouldn’t finish. But that was the moment when I realized what a true accomplishment it was. That was the last time I remember feeling so light and free.
KristyJuly 23, 2010 at 7:50 am
The memory that brought the most joy to my life was when I met my father for the first time but not for the reason you would think. I was 13 – flew by myself to met a complete stranger (my parents divorced when I was 6 months old). On the second day of the visit my grandfather came and picked me up from my “fathers” house.
The man who donated his sperm to my existence had no interest in getting to know me or be part of my future – he was very consumed and satisfied with his new life and other children. That was the day when 13 years of wondering what he was like and if he missed me or loved me was all answered. We have not spoke since. On my 21 birthday he sent me $100, his only financial contribution to my entire life. That trip was the closure I needed, It would be awful to still wonder day in and day out if I hold any value in his life. I have been able to move on and let go. I will always see him as my biological father but he will never be a “dad” in my eyes.
🙂 Good question…
ConniJuly 23, 2010 at 7:51 am
They day I started dancing again. I had stopped when I couldn’t find a good studio, then I finally found one and that first day back in class was so amazing. All the happiness and dedication came flooding back and my passion was obvious. It was amazing and now everytime I walk into that studio, I’m as happy as ever.

I felt my absolute best when I finished my first half-marathon in December 2009. I could not run a mile when I started training with Team Challenge in August 2009 and ran the entire 13.1 miles in Las Vegas on behalf of my husband who has battled Crohn’s disease for over a decade. It was such a decisive moment in my life: we had been going through an extraordinarily difficult time and raising over $4200 while running the half not only changed my life and my body but transformed our relationship as well. I will never, ever forget that moment of crossing the finish line with tears in my eyes!

Probably the day my dad forgave me. Quite personal topic – but I was very rebellious in my early 20’s and it destroyed the amazing relationship I had with my parent’s. In 2006 my grandmother passed away, and the night before she died my dad and I were sitting on the foot of her bed. My dad was tearing up, and he said he wished he didn’t love me because I hurt him so much, but then he said he just couldn’t help it. He told me that everything I had done and was going to do, he forgave. And he knew that eventually I would turn my life around.

The best day of my life was not that long ago. It was my last day at a social work job that I hated and had drained me for almost five years. Now I’m re-evaluating my career path and thinking about going back to get my masters in a different field. This was my best day because I made a decision to benefit myself and make me happy, no one else.
AmyJuly 23, 2010 at 8:11 am
The best day was one day on our honeymoon in Hawaii. We spent a few days on the big island. We hiked through Volcano National Park all day, then came back, got thai takeout, and went back to our cottage in the middle of the rainforest, and ate dinner and drank wine in front of a fire. It felt so amazing to be in such a secluded, incredible place with my best friend and new husband.

I am choking up reading all of these comments, wow! We are a lucky bunch to have experienced such wonderful things.
There are a lot of favorite days, but one I remember so vividly is the first night I met my boyfriend. I smiled at him, he smiled at me and that was all it took. We talked for hours and soon after had our first date. 6 years later, we’ve bought a house together and are deeper in love than ever.
Also, I really cherish the day my little sister was born. I was 4 1/2 years old but remember feeling so elated when I got to hold her. It was like – ‘at long last, here we are. Pleased to meet you.’

Best moment of my life: having the courage and strength to walk away from an unhappy time in my life (university) and realizing it was the right choice for me!

My best day was the 1st day my husband & I spent on Grand Cayman Island on vacation!
JessicaJuly 23, 2010 at 8:15 am
Absolutely my wedding day!! Everything went so perfectly, it was amazing. Throughout the afternoon and evening, multiple people from both sides of the family came up and asked me, “So… was it everything you dreamed?” And each time I replied, “Yes.. and sooo much more. It could not have been a better day”. We had a beautiful ceremony on the beach, chicken and pulled pork for dinner, dancing bare feet in the grass, fireworks, and watching the sunset. Best day ever!
Stacy JohnsonJuly 23, 2010 at 8:15 am
The best moment in my life was when I met my future husband in May 1997. We were at a dance in high school and he was sitting by himself across the room, refusing to dance with anyone! I went up to him to talk and even though he wouldn’t dance with me, I knew at that very moment he would be my “partner in crime” for the rest of my life. We’ve been together ever since and I’ve introduced him to so many things, including feta cheese and have even shown him some moves on the dance floor!

The day my precious son was born! My husband and I couldn’t wait for him to arrive.

My wedding day!
Alexandra ChappellJuly 23, 2010 at 8:18 am
The best moment of my life would have to be when I met my husband. I was a freshman in college and walked into a party to find him standing next to the keg. It was love at first sight- through my beer goggles of course 🙂
TheresaJuly 23, 2010 at 8:21 am
The top moment in my life would be the day I married my husband. It wasnt the wedding itself that made it the best but it was knowing I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
A close second behind it was the day I ran my first 1/2 marathon. Talk about a feeling of accomplishment!
lauraJuly 23, 2010 at 8:22 am
I can’t really say I’ve had a “best day of my life” yet (I’m only 23…that’s ok, right?), especially considering the last 5 years (+ continuing) have been an uphill battle with school and personal life. BUT, I live on a lake at home, so any day I’m home and can sit outside and enjoy looking at or being on the water, forgetting about everything else going, on is a great day in my book 🙂
JennaJuly 23, 2010 at 8:22 am
My husband I got married 2 months ago; it was a great day, a was fantastic day, a highly emotional day but not the best moment of my life. I would say the moment/conversation we had a couple of months before we got engaged when WE decided we were going to get married that was the best moment. I feel we began walking down the same path together then, 10 month before we were official married.
alexJuly 23, 2010 at 8:24 am
The day I felt the best was when I won an award for best dance choreographer at my school. I never thrived in academics, so dancing was my release and where I felt the strongest. It was such an honor to be rewarded for all of my hard work and passion.
JennJuly 23, 2010 at 8:25 am
My wedding day. After a year of planning, it all came together beautifully and I felt wonderful!
BethJuly 23, 2010 at 8:25 am
I know most people say that their wedding day is the best day of their life, but I would have to say the day we got engaged is the best day of my life up until this point! We have been married for 2.5 years now, but those memories of getting engaged are so much fun and so special to me. I absolutely loved being engaged!
RachaelR.July 23, 2010 at 8:25 am
…first kiss with my husband. We waited until we were engaged (5 years!) to make it extra special. It was : )

hmmm… one fabulous moment that is pretty recent was the moment i walked into the elevator on the last day of my year and a half long experience as a personal assistant at a law firm. i hated it there, and i was leaving to start grad school. the door closed, and i could breathe again.
kellyJuly 23, 2010 at 8:27 am
When I finished my first sprint tri. This time last year, I couldn’t have completed it. Crossing that finish line was the biggest rush ever.
TheNerdyRunnerJuly 23, 2010 at 8:27 am
Not to be cliche, but I definitely felt wonderful on my wedding day. However, I think I can honestly say that I felt my absolute best on April 17, 2010. That’s the day I ran and completed my first marathon. I’ve never felt so healthy and strong before and I definitely loved the sense of accomplishment I felt afterward!
By the way, I just came across your blog a few days ago and so far I’m really enjoying it!

My best moment was after I had surgery on my arm for Melanoma…and then to find out that it had all been removed.
I will never forget that moment ever, and I have the scar to remind me to live life to its fullest every day!
Glad you are having fun! 🙂

best moment of my life was when i walked into a bar three years ago, saw an old friend that i hadn’t seen in a long time, and immediately fell in love with him. our relationship changed at that point and we are getting married in three weeks. creating another best moment with my best friend.
Amy @ Amy Starts to RunJuly 23, 2010 at 8:28 am

it’s a tie between my wedding day & the day i told the hubby we were expecting our first baby (she’s due in october)!!! both are moments i think about daily.

When I was traveling Europe last spring. Hands down. I was there for 3 weeks and every day felt like the best, most amazing day of my life!
ErinJuly 23, 2010 at 8:33 am
The day I quit my job and went to graduate school for teaching. I’m about to start my student teaching in just 3 weeks in a 1st grade classroom (eek!) and graduate in December and it feels amazing to finally be doing what I’ve always wanted to do.
AudreyJuly 23, 2010 at 8:33 am
The day I won the departmental award for my senior thesis–over a year and a half of frequent all-nighters finally paid off!
LizJuly 23, 2010 at 8:33 am
It was the day I got into college. Well, the college I attended. I had gotten in a couple of other places, but I wasn’t thrilled. And I had gotten rejected from the school. So I cried for a while, and then I heard you could appeal. So I wrote a letter to the admissions department explaining why I wanted to go to school, and what I planned to do if I was given the opportunity. I got a call a few days later welcoming me open arms to school, I was told that I was just slightly above the average of people who usually accepted, so they had rejected me because of that, but if I was interested they’d have me. So I jumped up and down and screamed. It was definitely the day I learned that its always worth fighting for something if you really believe in it.
AlexisJuly 23, 2010 at 8:33 am
One of the best moments of my life took place yesterday night. I was with my friends on the way to a pickup indoor soccer game. We were in Tucson and the weather was perfect; we had the A/C running while the windows were down. I have been discouraged lately, so it was a great “Ah, I love moments like these” moment.
AmyJuly 23, 2010 at 8:33 am
My best moment was my wedding! It was small, but it was just what we wanted. Not only was it the most perfect day, but every single person we love and care about was together in the same place…BEAUTIFUL!!!!
ActiveEggplantJuly 23, 2010 at 8:33 am
Definitely the day I met my husband. It was a blind date – arranged by my father – and I was terrified. It turned out to be an AMAZING day and I could tell already that we had “something special”. We just connected and it was perfect! And we lived happily ever after!
KatrynJuly 23, 2010 at 8:34 am
I almost don’t want to put this but…my wedding day two months ago. It wasn’t so much the wedding itself that was ‘the best’ but the knowledge that my husband I were starting our lives together…so much to look forward to!
Jennifer SJuly 23, 2010 at 8:35 am
It’s a three way tie – wedding day, birth of my son, birth of my daughter…
CaitlinJuly 23, 2010 at 8:35 am
The best moment of my entire life is RIGHT NOW. I am on my way to college on a full ride and I now realize that I have my ENTIRE life ahead of me! I have a bright future of freedom and potential that I am beyond thankful for with the help of my amazing family and friends. I am truly excited for what my future has in store for me, which is a beyond amazing feeling. 🙂
Beth GJuly 23, 2010 at 8:36 am
The day we got married was just amazing. The weather turned to perfect at the last moment, our flowers, cake, decorations, everything was just perfect. I have never felt so good.
DanaJuly 23, 2010 at 8:36 am
My wedding day. I had such a sense of peace and excitement that day. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that kind of rush before or after.
EmilyJuly 23, 2010 at 8:38 am
Someone else above said their best day was the day they got into medical school and realized that they didn’t want to go. For me, the best day was a couple days before my undergrad graduation (BA in International Relations!) when I decided that I did not want to work for the Peace Corp or Foreign Service, but instead wanted to become a doctor. That was the day that I figured out how to map out the next seven years of my life, the amount of debt I would incur, and how many family events I was going to miss. But really, I realized that day that following a dream is worth everything you can give it. If it isn’t, then you are chasing the wrong dream.
LaurenJuly 23, 2010 at 8:39 am
the best “moment” of my life has actually been a series of moments this year: buying my very first house, finishing a low residency program and graduating with my mfa, getting a promotion at work (and my own office!!), finishing my first half-marathon, completing puppy training (trust me, this was hard-fought!), finally finishing a manuscript, publishing a chapbook, and last but not least – getting engaged; something i didn’t think would ever happen again after my divorce.
it’s been an amazing year in self discovery, bravery, love, independence, trust, hope and faith – a surprising series of moments.
ChristinaJuly 23, 2010 at 8:39 am
Oooh, this is an easy one! When my fiance Ryan proposed. He took me to our first date spot (on our 7 year anniversary). We had a really great night, and as we were leaving, he got down on one knee, told me I was his angel and his best friend, and asked if I would marry him. Best day ever! We’re getting married on November 6 in Jamaica, and I absolutely cannot wait to be his wife.
HeatherJuly 23, 2010 at 8:41 am
Definitely my wedding day…even though there was a big hail storm right as we were finishing pictures!! It was still the best!!
Lina@GreenLivingNYJuly 23, 2010 at 8:41 am
one of the best moments of my life is when my fiancee proposed to me only after one week after we met each other! oh eh love at first sight!:) Now we are almost three year together and still very, very in LOVE!
LauraJuly 23, 2010 at 8:43 am
I felt my absolute best a year ago this weekend. I had been training for the SF Marathon for months. My boyfriend broke up with me 2 weeks prior, and my heart was broken. My friends and family came around to support me on marathon day, to ensure I’d still run it. I have never felt so loved and supported as I did on that Sunday morning. I was high on life for days after.
BeeJuly 23, 2010 at 8:43 am
The day my fiance proposed! I’ve never felt so loved before. This man actually wants to spend the rest of his life with only me. He’s perfect in every way and makes me so happy!
AngelaJuly 23, 2010 at 8:45 am
Wow.. hard to pick just one. Probably the BEST moment was the day that God answered my prayer and I found out I had a brain tumor. Too long of a story to post it all here, but basically doctors didn’t know what was wrong and decided to do an MRI and I prayed they would find SOMETHING.. and they did! A benign pituitary tumor. Did you know 1 in 5 people have one?
AlisonJuly 23, 2010 at 8:45 am
The day I realized I was going to be okay no matter what life brought my way!
kateJuly 23, 2010 at 8:48 am
Wow this is such a difficult question. I feel like my “best moment” was realizing that I am okay on my own. I moved 500 miles from my family for a job that I took on a whim. I interviewed, got an offer, and moved all within 2 weeks! And I have grown within the company, love my corporate job (hate working for “the man”), and know that I still have my family behind me…just not literally! I can take care of myself just fine, and am happy being on my own! I have learned to embrace it, and use this time to learn as much as I can about myself, and what I want out of life!
Sarah RJuly 23, 2010 at 8:49 am
My wedding day–I was over the top to be marrying my best friend, plus I felt fabulous physically and I had all of my friends and family there with me. It was one big party that’s for sure!
TeawenchJuly 23, 2010 at 8:49 am
One of my best moments was when my husband proposed. He’s not the romantic type at all. But on Valentine’s day three years ago, he got down on his knees and gave me a lovely proposal even though I was sick. Best sick day ever.
Kiera E.July 23, 2010 at 8:50 am
up until now my best moment of my life was while traveling through argentina in iguazu falls as i stood at the edge of the waterfall.
next week i will be presenting my thesis for the completion of my masters. i have a feeling, once that presentation is done, THAT will be the best moment of my life.
ErinJuly 23, 2010 at 8:52 am
The day my mom came to visit me in London. I was so in love with that city but feeling a little homesick, so when she flew over it was incredible. That first day was spent wandering through the city, having tea at Kensington Palace and we even saw the Queen!
CarolynJuly 23, 2010 at 8:54 am
Best moment in my life so far was the day I got my green broke five year old paint horse (we had a LOT of learning to do… and a lot of not so good days before we got to the good ones). It was so exciting and scary and turned out to be such a pivotal moment that has defined the rest of my life so far!
SarahJuly 23, 2010 at 8:54 am
There are many bests! 🙂 One of my favorites is, after over a year of looking at homes, we walked into THE ONE and knew it right away. Everyone said, “you’ll know when you see it” but we were beginning to give up on that notion until IT HAPPENED!
Meghan PJuly 23, 2010 at 8:54 am
The day I win this Feta Friday prize 🙂
MollyJuly 23, 2010 at 8:57 am
The day I signed my first real world job offer and moved across the country. A lot of hard work in Engineering school built up to that day. 🙂 Sometimes I can’t even believe I made it!
Jen DrakeJuly 23, 2010 at 8:58 am
I think so far it was when my fiance asked me to marry him *hm* Never in my life had I felt so special and loved. I can’t wait to marry him.
Josh DurantJuly 23, 2010 at 8:58 am
I think the best to date is when i met the woman i’m soon to marry!
AngieJuly 23, 2010 at 9:00 am
The best day of my life was when my niece was born. It was just so amazing how much I could love this baby that hadn’t done anything but be born.
TaylorJuly 23, 2010 at 9:01 am
Well, there are a lot of those moments, you know? The ones you know you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be, going through what you’re going through, and doing what you’re supposed to be doing. My best life moment was when, after months and months of studying, finished taking the GRE. Twenty minutes later I decided not to go to grad school. Best day ever.
NicoleJuly 23, 2010 at 9:02 am
For sure my wedding day. The first day of the rest of my life with the man that I love. My whole family was there, my new family was there and we were starting our own family. It was a perfect day.
NikiJuly 23, 2010 at 9:03 am
The day I moved into my apartment to live alone in a new city at 22. I loved that it was just me and my goldfish Norman. I felt like I was just starting a new chapter of my life, and little did I know that two days after moving in I would meet the man I would marry.
KerrieJuly 23, 2010 at 9:03 am
Hmmm…I feel like I’m still waiting for the best moment of my life so if I had to pick I’d say crossing the finish line at my half marathon was a pretty cool experience.
MauraJuly 23, 2010 at 9:04 am
Hmm, this is so hard. I have no idea! Maybe the best is yet to come!
Jasmine @ Eat Move WriteJuly 23, 2010 at 9:04 am
When I married my current husband.
See, I’d been married before, but since that time I had lost 200 pounds, saw that weight loss and turmoil destroy my first marriage. I had thrown my clothes and shoes in a car and drove to california without a place to live or a job, knowing no one.
And somehow, I managed to end up exactly where I was supposed to be. It was the most amazing day of my life.
CaseyJuly 23, 2010 at 9:05 am
definitely the day i got my mcat scores back. i had slaved for months and knowing it paid off and that I was going to get in a medical school SOMEWHERE was the most joyous moment of my life. There were no tough decision at that point – just pure happiness.
SuzanneJuly 23, 2010 at 9:08 am
When I met my husband. That’s when everything changed, for the better.
MoniJuly 23, 2010 at 9:08 am
My first independent scuba diving experience. I can’t imagine a better experience than drifting from the Bells to the Blue Hole (Dahab, Egypt) and watching as the sea life floats by! I was at peace with the world and in my life.
IlanaJuly 23, 2010 at 9:08 am
I think my “best days” are in the future, but I am looking forward to the day I get into law school, which hopefully will be very soon! Until then, I finally made the kale chips you mentioned a longgggg time ago, and tasting such a delicious alternative to chips definitely qualified as a great, great day.
ChristineJuly 23, 2010 at 9:09 am
I haven’t graduated college yet or gotten married so I really don’t know what the best day or moment of my life was but last year I visited my best friend in Texas (I live in California) and I just had the BEST week. I was free to be myself completely while being understood, laugh until I cried, eat amazing food, see a ridiculously fun concert, meet nice people, etc. I wish my “real” life was like that!
KelliJuly 23, 2010 at 9:10 am
The day my beautiful little boy was born!
CaitlinJuly 23, 2010 at 9:14 am
The day I received my acceptance into my dream college was a good moment. I don’t have a ton of self confidence, so I never thought I would be accepted. I called my mom afterward and I was crying so uncontrollably that she thought something BAD had happened.
Also every moment of falling in love with my college sweetheart was pretty spectacular.
Arleen RobinsonJuly 23, 2010 at 9:14 am
My best life moment is everytime I get to hear my mother’s voice. She is 93 and lives in NY. I live in KC so we don’t see each other as much as I would like therefore, I call her every day just to say “I love you mom”
JWJuly 23, 2010 at 9:18 am
I am hoping my “best days” are in the future. I have had a lot of struggles for the past ten years of my life.

The day I got married was definitely the best day of my life! Marrying my best friend was wonderful, but what made it even better was having our friends and family with us to celebrate!

My best moment is when I give my kids a shower and tuck them in bed. The look of content in their eyes make all my stresses melt away! It is something I never shared with anyone before but I feel proud of myself at that moment!

Completing my first half ironman with my dad and some of my best friends. It was just such a fun day and I was just so proud of everyone and myself. A day of lots of smiles and fun!

The BEST day of my life was just this past Monday, July 19th! My boyfirend proposed!!!! :o) And, he did it is a way that was so meaningful and romantic. It was the BEST day!

Best moment of my life…realizing who my true loved ones are. It’s happened more than once, so I guess those are the best moments, but when it hits me who’s truly there for me, I am just so appreciative.
MichelleJuly 23, 2010 at 9:23 am
best day ever – finishing my first marathon!
Liz OJuly 23, 2010 at 9:23 am
Boy this is a tough one! Wedding day ranks right up there. I definitely looked my best!! I think the day I felt my best – at least recently – was last weekend… my husband and I spent a long weekend in hot and sunny Las Vegas and attended the Garth Brooks concert at the Wynn…. I couldn’t stop smiling all weekend….we had good runs, good food, fun times….life definitely felt in balance, perfectly!

Crossing the finish line of my first half-marathon, and proving to myself that I could do something I had never thought possible (for myself)!

The 1st night I spent with the man I would marry 5 months later!
KristinJuly 23, 2010 at 9:24 am
Can a two-week adventure be my best “moment”? I actually had a very stressful wedding day (add buying a condo into the weeks leading up to the wedding!) and when my new husband and I boarded that train for our honeymoon was the beginning of the most wonderful time of my life. We had an absolute blast and have so many wonderful memories.
If I really had to pick ONE moment, it was the time I jumped out a perfectly good plane. We somersaulted out of the door so I got to see the bottom of the plane and then freefell… it was awesome! And then I almost puked on the instructor while floating down. Almost.
JessJuly 23, 2010 at 9:25 am
My best moments were when I finished my first half Ironman and when I finished my first trail half marathon. The Ironman was the hardest thing I had ever done, but it was the greatest feeling! Knowing that I had accomplished something that big all on my own. The trail half marathon was my 7-8th half that I had done, but it was gruelling. There was a two mile climb up a mountain in the middle… and there were many moments when I thought that I couldn’t keep running. But I did and it so worth it in the end!
BrittneyJuly 23, 2010 at 9:25 am
My birthday two years ago. My boyfriend planned an amazing night out and made everything so special. Half way through I realized that I had fallen in love.
LindsayJuly 23, 2010 at 9:27 am
I ran my first 10k in Charleston this spring. I was quite nervous because half of it is uphill, but I did great and it wasn’t even hard! I felt so accomplished and proud of myself for conquering what I had set out to do for a long time. I wish I could relive that day over and over again!
deniseJuly 23, 2010 at 9:27 am
The best day of my life, which happened to be the one of the most embarrassing days, is the day that I got together with my now husband. We had been friends for a couple of years and one night, after a lot of drinks and some friendly peer pressuring from our friends, we ended up realizing that we wanted to be a couple.
CathyJuly 23, 2010 at 9:28 am
So far, the best day of my life has been finishing my first year of law school. Many, many times during it I didn’t think I would make it through, and then suddenly, I had finished it. Or maybe it was running my first half marathon with my brother. I can’t decide!
CrystalJuly 23, 2010 at 9:29 am
The day my daughter was born. I had the birth I wanted, my husband was fantastic (I was worried he’d freak out), we had an easy labor and she was the sweetest baby I have ever seen.

The best moment of my life was being offered to dance for my hometown Ballet Company. But I deffered the offer and went to college instead. Even though I killed my dream, I still feel confident that I did the right thing by furthering my education instead.
Awesome Giveaway! I love me some Feta!

It had to be the day I graduated college. It was so nice having all my family and friends there to support me 🙂
eatmoveloveJuly 23, 2010 at 9:46 am
I love reading these.
I haven’t had a best moment…God, I hope there is one coming…
I think there are a series of small moments, enlightenments and set-backs in life…the “best” moment for me would be any that let me feel at peace.
Just at peace and happy. Like walking downtown in a different city by myself and stopping at a farmer’s market for fresh fruit and banana bread.
Pathetic I know.
Ashley VJuly 23, 2010 at 9:48 am
Best moment so far? Hiking Mt. Washington (tallest mountain in the Northeast) and reaching the summit, since everyone doubted my ability to do it. And THEN getting proposed to at the top. 🙂 A close second would be my wedding day a little over a month ago!
JulieJuly 23, 2010 at 9:49 am
Maybe it’s kinda boring but I think the best moment of my life is this one drive back from the beach I did with my BF a few years ago. It wasn’t anything really special. I just remember feeling purely happy and at peace- and sticking my bare feet out the window of his 95 blazer while we drove and listened to music.
MeganJuly 23, 2010 at 9:51 am
The day I hiked Half Dome has to be the best moment of my life. No hike in my life has ever been so awe-inspiring or moving like Half Dome was. I think about being there all the time.

The best moment of my life was when I met my now husband. I remember feeling excited, anxious, certain, unsure and giddy all at the same time. I wish I could bottle it up. I knew at that moment on that day that I had met the man I was supposed to be with for this lifetime.

My best moment in my life was my wedding day (just two weeks ago!) But I think the moment I felt most proud of myself was finishing my first half marathon. Thanks for the giveaway!
SarahJuly 23, 2010 at 9:54 am
Hmmm, tough one. I have yet to experience some of the traditional answers like wedding day, baby being born, etc, so I would have to say one of the first days of studying abroad in New Zealand back in college. I felt so independent, alive, adventurous and excited.

One of my best moments was when I was able to attend the Dalai Lama’s teaching in Dharmasala and get to touch his hand. It wasn’t so much being able to physically touch him, but to be in the presence of someone who embodied pure love and compassion. It gave me the foundation to believe that it’s possible for all of us to achieve equanimity and wisdom as well.
RachelJuly 23, 2010 at 9:58 am
One of the best moments of my life was graduating high school. It seems like a small accomplishment or step compared to wear I am now, but I just felt so content with my life back then. I had no worries, and I knew exactly the direction I wanted to go. Things were just so simple…ahh to be 18 again!
elaineJuly 23, 2010 at 9:58 am
best moment of my life had to be when i climbed to the top of the Great Wall. I honestly didn’t think I was going to make it, but when I did I got that wonderful sense of euphoria that comes with feeling like anything is possible!
LauraJuly 23, 2010 at 10:00 am
I think it was the day where I quit an exercise group that I wasn’t happy with. This activity included a lot of drama, money and it was giving me anxiety. It was sort of empowering when I finally realized. Hey! I don’t have to keep up with this and quit. That same day I bought a new pair of running shoes and started training for my 1st half marathon. I felt amazing!
JulieJuly 23, 2010 at 10:00 am
This is hard! Buying a house together with the boy and moving in together for the first time was really exciting!!

The best day of my life was the day my baby girl was born – mother’s day of this year! She was the greatest mother’s day gift!
KeraJuly 23, 2010 at 10:02 am
The day I won my college’s top honor. I spent my freshman year as a recluse; never got involved in activities, didn’t try to go out and make friends… all I wanted to do was go home on the weekends and see my boyfriend. When we broke up at the beginning of my sophomore year, I joined every activity I could to take my mind off of him. I ended up joining some of the best groups on campus and meeting people that would change my life forever. It all culminated in my final year of school, when I received the top award for academics, involvement, and service in the collegiate and greater community. The whole process was more rewarding than I can truly express.

The best movement of my life was last may when I was accepted to Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, and Dartmouth University for undergrad. SO MUCH hard work over the years and it really paid off. Now I’m a rising sophomore at Harvard 🙂

I feel like the easy answer is my wedding day, but it’s true! I am generally not one who likes to be around a lot of people or big crowds, but I loved every minute of the day!
EricaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:04 am
My best moment would have to be when I graduated from college. I’ve since gotten my Masters but I was proud of surviving those four years and getting my undergrad!

I would have to say my last day I spent in Italy of my families two week vacation last summer. We visited where my dad used to live and he coincidentally saw two of his old childhood friends he grew up that he hadn’t talked to in 30 years, i had never seen him so happy! and then to end the night with dinner on top of an apartment looking over the entire city of Milan with my family! I’ll never forget it!

One of the best moments of my life was when I crossed the finish line during my first marathon. I am not sure it really hit me at the time, but looking back, training for a marathon is tough (the time commitment and consistency of training, especially). I know that if I could handle that, I can handle most other things that come my way.
monicaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:07 am
Best moment??? gosh! that is really tough one…. I try to enjoy life everyday, but I also have to study hard so that takes away time from life. Hmmm…..I’m a hearing impaired/deaf soon to graduate from medical school and praying that I will get accepted into residency! that will be the day! life-altering!

One of the best moments in my life was when I decided to go back to school, and I could see how happy and proud my mother felt. However I know that the moment I walk across that stage and I hear them say my name, That will be one of the greatest moments of my life!

The day I got married for sure 🙂

Oh wow. I think the best moment of my life was actually when I ran my first half-marathon at mile 12. It that exact moment I realized that I have run farther, continuously and without stopping once, than I ever have in my entire life–probably more than in an entire week. It was farther than any of my training and it was only a mere mile until the finish. I felt unstoppable. I felt accomplished. I truly felt like it was a turning point to being a new person. And I felt all that while I felt numb and dead, too (hey, 12 miles is a lot). 🙂

I’d say the day I graduated from college (May) and the day I got a position at my dream company in my dream city (Minneapolis!). Everything just seems to be coming together so perfectly…

i’ve had a lot of great moments and elated feelings, but the very best day of my life is yet to come. and that is super exciting.
Tamar MJuly 23, 2010 at 10:16 am
I ran my first 1/2 marathon with my sister in April, which she was a more experienced runner than I am (and faster) we crossed at the same time. When they called out our names and realized we were sisters and screamed it out we both broke down. It was the best I have ever felt because I realized then that you could do anything you put your mind to.
JessicaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:17 am
The day I realized I was in love with my husband. It was so comforting and scary at the same time.
PamJuly 23, 2010 at 10:22 am
One of the best moments of my life happened just recently. Even though I have been blessed with the life I live and friends and family, I have been going through a very difficult depression. I have reached out for support from loved ones and in the end I am in better place and not to sound egotistical I know it has been mostly my doing. The best moment was not overcoming my depression, it was realizing I helped myself and that I am a strong person that there is nothing I can’t accomplish if I put my mind to it. If you let people in and do things that are good for you and your soul your life will be so much better.
JannaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:25 am
The day I finished my first adventure race…I weighed 300 pounds and my partner and I finished dead last…but we FINISHED…to the entire crowd cheering us on. Best thing I ever did…turned my life around!

My best life moment has been finishing the Komen 3-Day 60-mile 3-Day walks. It’s so empowering to have walked 60 miles for breast cancer with over 2,000 people and being cheered on by people you pass along the walk and to have raised so much money for the cause. Finishing the walks is especially important to me since my mom’s a three-time survivor.
I’ve just never felt as strong or awesome as I do when I finish the walks.

The day my husband proposed.

I felt my best after working at a summer camp. I had fallen down a mountain, broke my ankle in several places resulting in several surgeries and couldn’t place any pressure on my ankle whatsoever. Yet I stayed at the camp and worked the entire summer(they hired a junior counselor to assist with hikes, rock climbing and other activities I couldn’t be part of). It was a summer of huge spiritual and emotion growth. Bonus was that I lost about 50 lbs during those 10 weeks…even on crutches!

I feel like there have been so many great days that its hard to choose just one, but if I had to pin down a really special day it may have been Christmas last year. My parents relocated from our hometown to Denver the following January, and my husband and I, as well as my sister, brother-in-law, and brother are often busy with our own lives. But that one day, we all were together, eating tons of food, opening presents, and drinking wine, and it was wonderful!

I’m going to skip the obvious, wedding and children’s birth, and go for the very first time in my life that I felt at my best! That would be the day I graduated high school…I was on top of the world. I was the first person in my family to finish high school and I had accomplished through remarkable odds. Then I married, and had three amazing (yet sometimes annoying, ha) children. Which are the light of my being! My next great moment will be when I walk across the stage in a few years being the only person in my family to graduate from college!
Suzanne de CorneliaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:46 am
Many, but if choose one, when I lived on the beach in Santa Barbara and my son came home from school for Christmas. I had a roast in the oven, had made his favorite carrot cake (Silver Palate Cookbook recipe–very good–but I augment and even better). December SB sunsets are incredible. We went over to the deserted beach with our sheltie, Ladd. The water was a sheet of shimmering purple out to Anacapa. One lone star shined like silver in a sky of whipped pink, purple, and azure blues. A battered old white top-heavy fishing tug was rocking its way into the harbor trailed by seagulls, pelicans and dolphins. We didn’t say anything–both of us knew this was the birthday of his deceased father/my true love and we were thinking about that. But it was a moment of unforgettable peace, beauty and love. One I’d wish to live with in eternity.

ShaunaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:50 am
Hard to say. I was thinking about this recently, and I can’t pin down just one moment because I haven’t experienced many huge ones. I will say, though, that this past year has been the best year of my life because it’s been wonderful living with my lovely boyfriend–and enjoying the baking, eating and laughing that goes along with it.
MichelleJuly 23, 2010 at 10:50 am
The BEST moment of my life… it feels silly , but the one thing that sticks out in my mind is being named Captain of the Swim team for my senior year of high school. I had just gotten my braces off that day (ah at 16!) and was feeling like a million bucks – I remember I could not stop smiling and was so proud of my achievements to be selected as a leader for my peers.
EricaJuly 23, 2010 at 10:54 am
Most recent moment I’ve felt great…TODAY. I had LASIK eye surgery yesterday. Woke up this morning and for the first time in 15 years I didn’t have to put in contacts or wear glasses. I am seeing the world so much more clearly today! It’s amazing!!

My BEST was pretty recently, actually. I was on my way home from my boyfriend’s house…we had just gotten into an argument, I was stuck in traffic, and it was raining- a pretty crappy afternoon. I was sitting at a stop light with my hand out the window and I said to myself “you know, it’s okay”. It really is okay. It doesn’t matter if it’s raining or there’s traffic or it’s Sunday and you have to go to work tomorrow- it’s okay. For the first time in my life, I wasn’t thinking about financial issues, relationship troubles, work problems, or anything else…I was just there. I just was. That day, I realized that life is about so much more than work or money or working out or food or blogging…it’s about SO much more. And no matter what, it’s okay (:
I called my mancakes after this epiphany and apologized for the argument. I told him about everything I’d just realized and he said, “Well, yeah Shelby, it’s about time you figure all of this out. I’ve been waiting for you, love.” Totally awesome. Just awesome. I’m definitely smiling big time as I share this. I know it’s not a huge event- a marriage or child or graduation- but it is an outstanding turning point in my life.

The minute we signed papers for our home in TN. I have lived in 7 states, in 36 communities, went to 12 schools in my life. When we retired to TN, it felt the most permenant in my life–and 10 years later, it is same home, same house, same community, same house.

The day I felt my absolute best was the day I graduated college with 3 Associate of Applied Science Degrees in Business Technology in just 3 years and found out that I also got a special recognition certificate for having all A’s for the three years that it took me to get those 3 degrees.

It would have to be the day I traveled to Cinque Terre in Italy. It may be lacking on a momentous life occasion and it has no sappy story, but I spent the entire day hiking along the Mediterranean ocean between the 5 villages and it was the most beautiful place on earth and the best day of my life.

The best day of my life was the last day of a leadership retreat for a bunch of college students that I had been planning for 9 months. It was the hardest most stressful 9 months of my life and the whole week was exhausting. But when I got to see the impact the retreat had on those students it was all worth it and I actually broke down in tears. That was also the moment that determined my current career path.
MarisaJuly 23, 2010 at 11:06 am
I can’t think of the ABSOLUTE best moment, but I am always very happy when I am at the peak of a great hike with an amazing view and wonderful friends. 🙂

I think I have a couple of ‘best’ moments but certainly graduating college, with a GPA I worked my a** off for, was very exciting.

By far when my first son was born. There is definitely something about having your first born in your arms.
CourtneyJuly 23, 2010 at 11:12 am
The best moment I have had thus far is one that most would see as a nightmare. After 3 years of law school and studying my face off for the bar exam, I found out that I had not passed by the tiniest of margins. It could have been traumatic but, I think that there are very few moments in life where God really shows us that He has other plans for us and our lives. I was disappointed but I was really honestly secure in knowing that God had a better plan for me and it was going to be bigger and better than I could have even imagined. So far, every day since then has truly been bigger and better than I ever thought possible.
AmandaJuly 23, 2010 at 11:13 am
Best moment of my life? So far, it’s when I was accepted into nursing school, so the next best moment? When I graduate 🙂

The very moment my baby girl was placed into my arms, I knew it would forever be the best day of my ENTIRE LIFE!!!
KatieJuly 23, 2010 at 11:22 am
Totally unfair question. 🙂 I’ve had so many good moments but I cannot say one was the best. I like to enjoy the moment in the moment and savor it.
CateJuly 23, 2010 at 11:26 am
Too hard to choose just one, but I loved walking on the moors near the Bronte home in northern England with my husband. The weather was cloudy and misty (perfect for feeling like I was in a Bronte novel), and we saw dilapidated houses and lambs with black feet. The views of the surrounding countryside were splendid!
CaitlinJuly 23, 2010 at 11:26 am
I’m not married, and I don’t have kids. My best day was when I got my dog. When I was 5 I had been begging for a dog. One day, during Christmas, my parents took me to the mall to see Santa. When Santa asked what I wanted I had said a puppy, of course. He told me to close my eyes real tight. When I opened them there in my arms was a little shi tzu puppy. I named her Molly and had her for 11 years. <3

My best moment in life, so far, was the day I got accepted to grad school! I’ll be in a MA/PhD program for Hispanic Lit and it feels like, since the acceptance and the decision to move from VA to TX, everything has just fallen into place and has happened the way I envisioned it. Good things come to those who have experienced a lot of bad.

The best moment of my life happened…YESTERDAY! I graduated nursing school in May and have been waiting to take my NCLEX (test to be a real registered nurse with a license) all summer. I finally took the test and thought I bombed it after, called my mom crying and everything. I went to the beach with my best friend and her mom for two days just to keep myself busy while I waited on the results. At 3:00 yesterday, I left the two of them on the beach while I went up to the room to check my NCLEX status online…PASS! I am officially a REGISTERED NURSE NOW! YAY 🙂

I think that one of the best moments of my life so far was seeing my goddaughter just minutes after she was born. The miracle of birth is such an amazing thing, an her’s was made even more special by how difficult it was for her parents to become pregnant with her.

The best moment of my life was when I got my first “grown-up” job! All that education and hard work finally paid off!
JamileJuly 23, 2010 at 11:40 am
I think it was the day I realized I was really truly on my own and I could totally take care of myself. I was like, “wow, look at me, I’m an adult.” This was years ago, after college, but still, important to me.
LindsayJuly 23, 2010 at 11:41 am
Since I haven’t been married or had kids, it is hard to say which day was the best day of my life. Maybe when I got my first teaching job. Or when my boyfriend became my boyfriend (now of 4 years.) There are so many fabulous days that it is hard to pick just one.
MMillerJuly 23, 2010 at 11:49 am
Such a very hard question Jenna! I have the normal best days, My Wedding, the births of my 2 children, when my kids graduated from high school, when they call to ask my advice, my last day of radiation, my last day of IV chemo (both times), The day I was told I was in remission from my cancer…again! But I think I will say the day I quit my job to stay home and relax and take care of myself for a change! It has been difficult financially, but I never felt better than that first month after quitting my job! It has been 2 and a half years now and I don’t regret it one bit!
ErinJuly 23, 2010 at 11:49 am
Of course, my wedding day, but I felt amazing on our honeymoon…nothing to do, nowhere to be, except in a lovely b&b in northern Minnesota with my new husband. It was glorious.
ShannonJuly 23, 2010 at 11:51 am
The best day(s) of my life was when I stood for 46 hours straight (without sitting or sleeping) in Penn State’s Dance Marathon. It benefits children with Pediatric cancer and that year I danced (2007) we broke $5MM raised! Not only did I accomplish an incredible physical feat, but I was helping those who needed it most!
MichelleJuly 23, 2010 at 11:54 am
This is kind of different from some of the other best days. Nothing really happened. I was visiting friends living in Maui and they took me to a lavender farm and a goat cheese farm. and then we sat on this hill overlooking Maui’s north country and ate goat cheese and drank lavender lemonade and it was …. perfect. That was the happiest i’ve ever felt. 🙂

A couple of years ago my boyfriend and I summit Mt Washington (NH) during winter. Although fairly short, it’s a tough mountain due to its very extreme weather. The whole climb took us about 12 hours, hiking with crampons, axes, goggles, etc. At times the winds were so strong I was nearly blown over, and we took a wrong turn that could have had a very dire ending had we not have consulted the GPS. After we finally got off the mountain and to the nearest bar I think I called everyone I knew to let them know what we had just accomplished. I felt like I could do anything after that!
AprilJuly 23, 2010 at 12:11 pm
I have had soo many best days, but I would have to say the day my son was born. I was super worried about several things during my pregnancy because I had a blood clot and was taking blood thinner shots twice/day until he was born. I was so worried about the side effects that the medicine would have on my unborn son at the time. When I finally got to hold him in my arms and see how beautiful he was, was the most rewarding and peaceful day I had had in the previous 9 months. 🙂

The best moment of my life…is when I was accepted to University.
I majorly slacked off in high school and had to retake a couple of courses in order to apply to university. I got an A+ and an A- and was accepted to my top choice of school, and I just felt so proud. I’ll be starting there this fall 🙂

The best moment of my life was when I realized there was coconut butter. 🙂 Just kidding. It was when I was able to marry the best (yes, the best. Sorry ladies, he’s the best of them all) man put on this earth. He challenges me, loves me unconditionally, and gives me ninja boots. All of which make me smile and thank God for such an amazing partner.
AbbeyJuly 23, 2010 at 12:17 pm
Sorry, but my wedding day was honestly the best. My family still talks about it fairly regularly and it’s been four years already. Simply perfect.

Best moment of my life was graduating college! I know this sounds so basic to most, but I was the 1st of my family to graduate college. I’m blessed to have an amazing single mother that put her 3 children at the center of her world. We never went without and always got more than we deserved! The look on her face as I walked across that stage will be something I cherish forever. Not everyone is meant for college, but I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to partake in a 4 year ritual that I’ll never forget! Bring on the Athenos!

One of the best moments of my life was while I was swimming division 1 in college and not only did I surpass my goal.. but I was able to drop more time that I ever imagined. Taking after my dad in swimming, watching him be so proud of me was one of the greatest feelings ever.

My best life moment has to be the day my fiance proposed. Not just because we were finally getting married (after dating for 8 years) but because I was so overcome with happiness and a sense of serenity that I hadn’t felt before. He totally blew me away with how much thought and detail he went into in planning the proposal and he was thoughtful enough to include all my friends and family too. It took me 3 days to come down from that high and actually sleep!

When I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. ‘Nuff said, my life has changed!
HeatherJuly 23, 2010 at 12:33 pm
It was close to a year after I had left my hometown and moved to Arizona. Some friends and I had taken a road trip to Mexico, and as I sat on the beach a certain song came on my I-Pod. With that song on, sitting on the beach and looking at the water, it hit me then and there that I could not have made a better choice to move and try out a new adventure in life. It was hard at first, but at that moment I knew it was the absolute right thing I should have done (and did)!

The day I graduated from law school, because I’m the first one in my family to graduate from high school, let alone a graduate program.

The day my daugher was born…….and that was 20 years ago, but it is still the very best! 🙂

The best day of my live has to be the day my kids were born. Nothing greater.
StephJuly 23, 2010 at 12:47 pm
So far in life, the best moment for me was graduating college.
College was very hard for me, my parents were going through a nasty divorce (and yes, it took about 4 years) where my dad stalked my mom, my mom was having medical problems, I was working part-time, I never knew if I could afford to attend the following semester, and I was my mom’s emotional caretaker during this time.
When I graduated, I felt SO proud of myself that I had overcome all that CRAP. I literally cried walking down from getting my fake degree.
StephJuly 23, 2010 at 12:51 pm
Right now, the best moment I remember feeling was when I was running the NYC Half Marathon. I felt great and during the middle of it, I almost started crying! But, in a good way. I couldn’t believe how much I had accomplished and how hard I had for this day. I was so overwhelmed, I could’ve started bawling in the middle of that race! It was crazy, but it was one of the most amazing feelings I’ve ever felt.
MeganJuly 23, 2010 at 12:52 pm
The day I met my husband – he was a trainer at a gym I had just joined.
IngridJuly 23, 2010 at 12:57 pm
hmmm… lots to choose from… getting engaged, married and the end of 2 one year deployments are up there, but the day i found out i was pregnant was pretty much one of the most exciting and happy days of my life :o)
kristinJuly 23, 2010 at 12:59 pm
the day i got engaged!!
EmilyJuly 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm
After being told that I could not concieve on my own, I was amazed, overwhelmed, and over the moon that I was able to do just that-get pregnant on my own. Without a doubt the best day of my life!
MoxieMamaJuly 23, 2010 at 1:01 pm
The best day of my life was the day I became a mother. I was in labor for 23 hours (not active labor the whole time, thank goodness!) and at 3:59 am, when my daughter was born, it was just the most amazing feeling.
By the way, I’m a new reader here, but I am in love with your blog! So glad I found it!
AshleyJuly 23, 2010 at 1:07 pm
The best moment in my life were all the times I’ve been able to go skydiving. Nothing screams “wake up call and refresher” like a drop from 13,000+ feet. 🙂
JenJuly 23, 2010 at 1:15 pm
My wedding day was far the best!
For some reason I had worried I’d be a sweaty mess the entire day, pass out on the alter, and everything would go wrong…but it was absolutely PERFECT 🙂
JaniceJuly 23, 2010 at 1:16 pm
I would have to say the best “3” days of my life were when each of my children were born. Sorry I can’t pick just one day, I just never thought I could love 3 people so much.
EspieJuly 23, 2010 at 1:19 pm
The absolute best day of my life (thus far) was the day I completed my 2 year Peace Corps service. I returned back to the US on Nov 20, 2009 and had this unbelievable wave of emotions going through my body the entire day. I was extremely proud of the good, bad and ugly experiences that I endured while serving in the Dominican Republic as a Health Educator. I was also stoked about returning to AMERICA and meeting my new nephew and reconnecting with friends and family that I had only communicated with a handful of times in 27 months (and let’s face it, I was looking forward to eating all the yummy food I missed- swiss cheese, jalapenos and cheesecake!).

There’s a close tie between finishing my first marathon last may and climbing four fourteeners in Colorado two years ago. The views were breathtaking
Jackie (Peaces of Earth)July 23, 2010 at 1:22 pm
My best day would have to be when I was studying abroad. There were many days while studying abroad that were amazing, but one definitely stands out. I was visiting Amsterdam, with my feet in the wading pool staring at the IAMSTERDAM sign. Nothing particularly exciting was happening, but I realized that at that moment I was doing EXACTLY what I should be doing and there was absolutely no other place I’d rather be. I wasn’t thinking about the past, or the future but was so content and happy in the present moment. That’s a feeling I’d like to feel always.
DorothyJuly 23, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Well, recently, when I found out that I passed the NCIDQ exam to become a Licensed Interior Designer I was so happy and proud… I think I’ve been glowing ever since!

The best moment of my life was when I opened a letter saying I got a full scholarship to college. I also went to an awesome concert with my best friend that night, so it was an great day all around!

The absolute best day of my life was my wedding day. It was the last time everyone in my family was together (we’ve had some deaths and illnesses since then) and there was just a magical feeling in the air that no other event that I can remember has quite recaptured. The births of my two children come in close second, but there is just something about 36 and 31 hours of labor (respectively) that kind of takes the edge off of that magical feeling!
JuliaJuly 23, 2010 at 1:38 pm
I’d say I have a best WEEK of my life that repeats annually. My family goes on vacation to a little lake on the other side of Tahoe and it’s pretty much my definition of heaven — hiking, kayaking, yoga outside, plus great food! Wonderful.
DanicaJuly 23, 2010 at 1:42 pm
I honestly can’t pinpoint one best moment but relaxing and tanning on a boat cruising around a lake on a warm breezy day is always amazing!!
IlanaJuly 23, 2010 at 1:42 pm
I’ve had so many different “amazing moments” in my life, it’s really hard to narrow it down.
But to be honest … here’s mine. It seems so simple, such a throwaway moment, and in the actual moment, it was actually a lot of stress, but last summer, I was in Thailand for 7 weeks with my best friend. We were getting ready to fly from Bangkok to Phuket but because of an internet glitch, I ended up on a flight the night before her flight, and we absolutely could not change the arrangements, no matter how hard we tried. So for the first time in my life, I was completely on my own in a foreign country where I absolutely did not speak the language, and I was flying in late at night, to arrive at my hostel well past midnight.
I’ll never forget stepping off the plane in Phuket and feeling a crazed rush. Here I am, alone, in Phuket of all places, grabbing my bag off the luggage conveyor belt like it ain’t no thang, like I do this all the time. Phuket! And me! Alone! Independent! I love the mystery of de-planing in a new place, where you have no idea what to expect once you walk out the doors of the airport, and this was my first time absolutely on my own. I just kept thinking, “I’ll never be able to tell my parents about this. This is how girls get kidnapped and killed in the movies and on Law and Order. That’s how it works. The unit splits up and you aren’t honest about your plans, and you die.” But I didn’t die. I spent my first night in a real and serious hardcore cheap ass traveler’s hostel that night. “Welcome to the rest of my life,” I guess.
In that moment, I knew I never wanted to stop exploring. I want to get on every plane and go everywhere and experience that same mystery and fire everywhere I possibly can.

For me it was three days after I moved to Miami. I jumped in with both feet, put everything I owned into a U-haul at hooked my car to the back and took the plunge. I moved to Miami without a job, without a place to live and without knowing anyone! I was literally thousands of miles from home. Three days later, I had already moved into an apartment and had a great job. I pulled it off! I couldn’t believe it fell together so quickly and so right. It was the most AMAZING feeling.
Amanda @ VegaciousJuly 23, 2010 at 1:49 pm
The day I graduated with my master’s degree. It was the culmination of so much dedication and sacrifice. And, at one point I didn’t think I was even going to continue. Looking back, it was one of the hardest things I’ve accomplished, but it was so worth it!

I have 3 best days….not sure if thats possible- #1-Engagement in SanFran (we are married now, but the 3-day engagement trip trumped the wedding in my mind), #2 & #3 are also tied with the birth of my children – one of them being 8 years ago today!!!!! Happy b-day to my Little Man! 🙂

I know it’s cliche but in my case it’s true: my wedding day. 3 years and 2 months later and I’m still crazy in love.
Now gimme some feta!!

I was traveling with a girlfriend through Europe over Christmas vacation 2008-2009. We were in Florence, Italy and spent the day horseback riding in Tuscany, drinking wine and THE BEST gnocchi I have ever, ever, ever had! We spent the night laughing and drinking wine and eating pasta in a small, hole-in-the-wall joint just down the street from our hotel. It was just one of those days I will remember forever!

The day I realized I was in love. Never believed in it or thought it could happen to me, but it did. And it’s awesome.
JenniferJuly 23, 2010 at 2:46 pm
Graduating college Summa Cum Laude has been the best moment of my life thus far. But I’d imagine my future wedding day and future child’s day of birth would far surpass that feeling!
Following JulieJuly 23, 2010 at 2:47 pm
My husband was run over by a car as a pedestrian in 2007 and was in a coma for several weeks. They didn’t think he’d survive and if he did he wouldn’t have any language. When he awoke from the coma, recognized me and reached for my hand…that was the best moment of my life. And he made a miraculous recovery. You’d never know he was in such a terrible accident, had brain surgery and was in a coma. And I swear, I’m not making this up!
TheresaJuly 23, 2010 at 2:48 pm
my dad and i went on a long bike ride at the beach, past all the houses where we used to stay when i was younger. i don’t know if it was the endorphins from the exercise or reminiscing with the padre that just got me in a top-notch happy place 🙂
MarissaJuly 23, 2010 at 2:48 pm
Tie between the day I finished my Master’s degree, and anytime I get to spend time with my whole fam. My husband and I live far away from our parents, so those times aren’t as often as we’d like — but they’re super special every time!
MollieJuly 23, 2010 at 2:52 pm
That is SO HARD! The BEST??? Hmmm, probably a day spent in Tahoe on the beach with my family. Or maybe my college graduation – it was so wonderful to see my parents so proud of what I’d accomplished with their help. My success was really their success, so graduating with honors was the best gift I could have given them.

The best moment of my life was when I met my husband. He has been an inspiration to me. Little did I know how much that one pivotal moment (meeting him) would change my life!
RachelJuly 23, 2010 at 3:03 pm
The most recent best moment of my life was when my fiance proposed to me. 6am, just woke up, no makeup on, hair a mess, and just the two of us. We took a picture of it for us to remember, but that picture will never be seen by anyone else!! I was the happiest girl on earth!
Shannon @ Before SunriseJuly 23, 2010 at 3:06 pm

Amanda (modernation)July 23, 2010 at 3:29 pm
What a great question. The best moment of my life would be standing up as my best friend’s maid of honor. We have been through so much together and her wedding was shortly after her father’s death. It felt so great to be there to support her on such an important day.

This is cheesy and not that earth shattering…but 7 years ago I met a guy through my cousin. He was nice and cute and smart and even though I just met him I felt like I had known him forever. We saw each other off and on every time I visited my cousin and her boyfriend (he lived in Ventura and I lived in San Diego, CA.) We always had a good time together, but he always had a girlfriend and I was always really shy, plus we lived 2.5 hours apart and I felt that my 21 years old was WAY too much younger than his 25 years old. Two years after we met we were in the bridal party at my cousin’s wedding. He was finally single and I was slightly less shy. We hung out all night, but when I was saying goodbye my dad decided to go mess around and embarrass his 23 year old daughter. Thanks dad. I just said goodnight and left. The next day I was talking to my friend on the phone when I got another call…an 805 area code. I knew exactly who it was. I got so excited I did a little run around my room and jumped onto my bed. lol! I never even said bye to my friend, hahaha! I took the call sounding completely calm and sure enough it was Brian. He had gotten my number from my cousin while she was in the airport waiting to leave on her honeymoon. We had our first date that weekend, and I’m writing this from the kitchen of our house right now, with our two dogs asleep on the floor. Best day ever.
KayteeJuly 23, 2010 at 4:23 pm
Realizing that I can wear the same size pants I wore my freshman year of high school! I started becoming really overweight my junior year of high school, it’s 8 years later and I’ve spent the last 7 months working hard to lose weight and I’ve lost nearly 40 lbs! It’s so exciting, I can run around now without getting super winded or feeling like I am going to collapse under my own weight.
By the way Jenna, when I am starting to feel down about life in general or I get bored with my food, your blog inspires me to mix things up. =)
nadiaJuly 23, 2010 at 4:26 pm
Hmmmm, well seeing as how I’m only 23 and don’t have any proposal or wedding day stories yet…. a couple of the best moments in my life stand out – the day i got accepted into pharmacy school, specific parts of my trip to europe last summer, and my best friend’s wedding (which led to a few dates of my own).

The best day of my life happened the first time (of 3) that I lived in Spain. I moved there with no plans and barely understood the language. I found a place and a school and dove in. I didn’t understand anything for months. Then, one day, something in my brain just clicked. I understood everything people around me said. It was amazing, and the most accomplished and satisfied I have ever felt. Everyone told me I was crazy to quit school and move to a foreign country so that I could really study and learn what I wanted to, but it was the best decision I ever made!

Having a clean slate! Best moment would be when I moved to my new town and I had 2 weeks to explore, put together my apartment, and get ready to start my first job. It was the excitement of starting my “new life” and being really on my own. Sometimes having a blank, clean slate is the best feeling!

I have two *best* moment. The first one was my first kiss. The guy made it super perfect and romantic. Hammock under the stars…Common!!! And my other one is right after my last exam of college. After high school, I had struggled a lot: gone to university and dropped out, then worked at Wendy’s (I know..so lame), and then I went to college and it was a great two years and right after my last exam my friends were waiting for me with presents and I felt so proud of myself.

I think it was the day when I realized that I am happy and content in my life. I have great friends, live in a great place and just generally feel good about myself and my life. I can’t tell you the exact date but I everyday since then I wake-up with a smile and excited for the day ahead.

The best moment of my life has to have been when I finished my first (and only, thus far!) half-marathon last year. I knew I would finish, but had no idea that I would actually be able to RUN the ENTIRE thing – you know the feeling! A super momentous moment for me, and I’m looking forward to my next race!!

Best moment? Whilst going through a really tough time; I was made to realise that I have friends and family that would love and support me through anything. No judgement. The best feeling!

To be totally cliche, my wedding day. But, my runner-up is the moment I finished my third marathon and qualified for Boston!

So excited that you asked this question because the best moment of my life happened less than a week ago!!! Last Sunday while out at dinner at Butcher & Singer in Philadelphia my boyfriend proposed to me 🙂 Wonderful food + Proposal = PERFECTION!
