Hand Over Your Lettuce

My new macro lens came today and I love, love, love it!

IMG_1127
I mean, who wouldn’t want to take the most up close and personal photographs of lettuce?
IMG_1128
I’m getting hungry again just looking at it!
IMG_1126
It even makes channa masala look pretty!
IMG_1129
Well, sorta.
IMG_1130
That would be Trader Joe’s brand, in case you were wondering. I rarely ever buy frozen entrees anymore because I lack both a microwave and the patience it takes to cook frozen meals in the oven. However, tonight I really wasn’t in the mood to cook so there ya go.
Anyone have those days where you just feel scatterbrained to the point of tears? I have no clue what was wrong with me today, but I just felt like I was on the verge of crying all day long. I couldn’t get my act together and my mind was everywhere. It’s a complete miracle I didn’t drop 6509 Riedl glasses at work, or even break one for that matter. Goodness!
And on that note, I think I need some chocolate. Stat.

Edited two hours later to add:

Sometimes all you need is a really good book. I feel SO much better and I didn’t even have to eat the chocolate.
***
Now, an hour past the time I previously edited.
Frozen banana soft serve with freshly whipped cream and dark chocolate chips.
Suddenly, all balance has been restored to my life.
I’m really going to bed now. Goodnight.

Yum, I love Trader Joe’s packaged meals. They actually have great ingredient lists — the pre-made Indian food has really simple ingredients, like tomatoes and chickpeas, without preservatives or nasty additives. Yum.

oh wow. i need a good camera.

i have days sort of like that – i don’t feel like crying, but i get randomly depressed about everyone and everything and can’t seem to find a way out of it. i usually feel better the next day though – just another silly girly moody thing 😉 ugh. but guess what? it’s almost friday!

Well – I did cry all day at work – tucked away in the office, in the bathroom…drying my red face…long, hard day.

But alas, I am alive. And I Thank God for that.

Always be Grateful for what we have people. Because we are lucky to even have that.

And I think your photos are stellar. Who knew lettuce could look so lovely? …lettuce…really?… 🙂

Those photos are gorgeous – I think macro lenses are so much fun. Books are such great things – they really do take you to a different place. I sometimes get so immersed in the story that I am reading that I’m unaware of what is happening around me.

Having just moved cross-country and enduring unemployment (which I’m happy to report, am no longer enduring), I know how it feels to feel anxious and on the brink of a teary breakdown. I’ve been like that for the past month, and I feel for those around me who’ve had to put up with it. A good chunk of your novel should help you escape with whatever’s making you tick.

I’m very impressed by the quality of your photos! That camera was a worthy investment, indeed. Looking forward to the many more gorgeous food shots to come!

I love banana soft serve with whipped cream on to. Even my husband loves it and he is not one for healthy treats. I bet my chocolate chip cashew cookie dough balls could be great shopped up in some to make a healthy version of chocolate chip cookie dough icecream. Gonna have to try that! ….runs off to put some bananas in the freezer.

I had the same kind of day yesterday – just wanted to cry and was not happy…we all have those days and it does feel great when you get past them. I do think mine had something to do with my high school 10 year reunion this upcoming weekend…puts me in a weird mind frame. Oh well, it will be fun!
I hope you are feeling better today and have a great weekend!

I’ve had several of those kind of days lately. 🙁 I start freaking out about everything I want to do, need to do, and should do, but never have the time for. Work has been crazy, so that’s not helping.

But then last night and the night before, I went on a really hard run. I can’t believe how much better I felt! I mean, I was sore, sweaty, and gasping for air, but I think the endorphins pumped me up. Plus, I probably slept much better. 🙂

Glad to hear you’re feeling better!

Wow, the new lens really does make everything look awesome. I am stuck in the stone age with a AA battery-powered point-and-shoot, and you have no idea how jealous I am that your camera can adequately capture the magnificence that is banana soft serve. No joke.

Oh and channa masala – I think I cook up a batch 1x a wk now – my Hubs favorite meal 😉
