Breakfast

Home Sweet Home

Finally Saturday and I just have to throw some stuff in the car and I will be on my way home! Last night’s practical went really well. I got about the same score as I did on the previous week’s so that’s not bad…I just mess up on really small things and he is a hard grader! I have SO MUCH food to take home with me today…too much for any one family to consume. I have about 3 dozen muffins, 2 dozen cookies, a pound cake and 2 dozen cinnamon rolls. Wow!! I need to get it out of here though because I keep nibbling!

For breakfast this morning I made a waffle sandwich with some peanut butter (and a smidge of maple syrup!) between 2 flax plus waffles. And…a huge bowl of watermelon! I was so happy to find watermelon at the store–its like my all time favorite fruit. I just love it!

Today Ryan and I are actually playing golf with my parents. It should be interesting. Ryan and my dad are big golfers….but, well, me—I sort of just get frusterated with it all by the fourth hole and end up driving the cart. I don’t really understand the game all that much. It will be nice just be outside though because it’s supposed to be gorgeous out!

Your family must love it when you go home and bring goodies!!

A waffle sandwich is such a good idea. It must’ve tasted twice as good! I’ll have to try that sometime. =)

I don’t understand golf either… it just seems so boring to me. Oh well, men will be men.

Congratulations on your practical – so glad that you’re doing so well, especially when dealing with a hard grader!! I’m sure your family will MORE than appreciate the abundance of goodies you baked :0)

Waffle sandwiches are incredible – especially toasted, with some nut-butter (almond, hazelnut, or cashew, for me!) and banana slices. Yum! And wow, all of that watermelon looks like a bowl of rubies!! Gorgeous!!

For once, it’s gorgeous here as well – we actually have sunshine today, AND it’s 34°F (whoa, heatwave! haha).

Have a lovely weekend with your family, Jenna – you deserve it!! :0)

We had so much snow last night that I was standing up to my knees in it this morning while shoveling.. Ay.. what is a California girl doing in the Berkshires??? We had almost two feet and should get 5-10 inches more before tonight. At least the shoveling adds to my workout.

    Erica,

I don’t measure out my PB but I’m guessing I used anywhere from 1.5 tbsp to 2 tbsp. It always ends up being more than I think! 🙂

    Watermelon! I love it!

Have you tried soy yogurt? I haven’t but I hear some people like it and some don’t, like most things… maybe it’ll be a good sub for you.
