I’m in Phoenix!

Talk about a whirlwind. I got home Monday night around 10pm, dumped out all my smelly camping clothes all over the floor, repacked my suitcase with conference clothes, slept at home and then was on my way early yesterday morning. Don’t mind the fact that I haven’t had time to do laundry for the past three weeks, have about 200 emails in my inbox, and have melted sea salt chocolate all over the bottom of my purse.
I’m going to a conference this week put on by Thermador, to test cook in their new and innovative steam ovens. I headed to the Southwest a day early though to visit one of my best friends, Molly, and explore Scottsdale a bit since I’ve never been.

Molly and I went to College of Charleston together and she came out last March to visit me in Sonoma.

Brown hair?!
Anyways. I am loving Scottsdale and especially loving True Food Kitchen. Seriously, where has this restaurant been all my life because clearly my name is written all over it. I mean, look at these cocktails!

Okay, okay…. those would be the “natural refreshments”…..but they are even better with a shot of vodka, I assure you.
Also delicious were the vegetable salad with manchego cheese and the crazy fresh gazpacho….

The edamame dumplings and a pizza with fresh pesto, goat cheese and shrimp.

It was a good meal.
Time to go brave the heat!
