Once upon the time, somebody bought me a beautiful red Le Creuset loaf pan. That somebody was my mom and I was in college at the time. It was my first “nice” piece of cookware and I absolutely adored that thing.
Actually, I still do adore it. These things last forever.
And, today I’d like to give one away to YOU. For just being awesome. And also so that we can have matching loaf pans when we bake such yummy things as peanut butter sandwich bread, chocolate chip loaf cake, cranberry walnut orange bread and Heather’s yummy carrot bread.
This giveaway is sponsored by me, myself and I. Winner can pick between a blue or red pan (though I highly recommend the red— it’s a lovely shade!). Just leave a comment here telling me the first thing you would bake in your new loaf pan. I’ll pick a random winner Friday evening by 10 p.m. EST.

April 13, 2011 at 2:14 pmI would love the red one! We have a red stand mixer, S & P grinders, my favorite spatula is red… it’s the kitchen accent color for sure 😀 I would likely bake a loaf of whole grain gluten free bread in it. Maybe take another stab at this recipe since it didn’t turn out terribly ‘perfect’ the first time… But I will not be defeated! I CAN overcome my fear of baking with yeast! IT IS NOT SCARY!

April 13, 2011 at 2:15 pmOh! I love le Creuset and a loaf pan is the one thing I don’t own at all. I’d love to have a red one (to match the other red le Creuset I have) and the first thing I’d bake is Amish Friendship Bread. I love that stuff. It’s the best!

April 13, 2011 at 2:15 pmI have about 13 lbs of frozen, shredded zucchini from the my mom’s garden last summer taking up space in my freezer. They are begging to be made into a delicious loaf my mom’s zucchini bread, perhaps with the addition of dark chocolate chips. Because they make everything better.
Plus a red one would match my red dutch over. Red for the win.
Katharina
April 13, 2011 at 2:15 pmI am absolutely in love with my own le creuset dishes. They’re the best thing since sliced bread (actually, they’re probably better) but I would really like to bake in the tin, not for myself but for my sister who is just starting to bake (which I think I super exciting) now that she’s moved to the city, so I guess the first thing I would bake with her is a proper loaf of bread. Sourdough I guess because that way I could show her to make a proper starter herself (and you can never have enough sourdough bread in your house).
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga)

April 13, 2011 at 4:07 pmI know many people have said this, (and there’s a good reason they have!) delicious banana bread. I don’t know if this is gross or if I’m going to end up with salmonella one day, but my favorite thing is to take the banana bread out a bit before it is done, leaving a thin layer of half-way cooked dough on top. And of course my slice would be spread with butter…

April 13, 2011 at 4:18 pmi just made your peanut butter bread recipe, and it is so delicious! my only complaint is that it crumbled some when i cut it (maybe due to using self-rising flour or possibly because i could NOT wait until it was completely cool! it smelled so good baking!). i might try adding some chocolate chips to the mixture next time before baking. so if i won the above dish, that’s the first thing i’d bake in it! :o)
Patricia

April 13, 2011 at 5:52 pmAhh my dream-come-true is a lecruset collection! My coworkers at the office always joke that I should’ve gone to culinary school because I always bake stuff and bring it in! I would definitely bake my homemade cinnamon bread loaf (rolled with cinnamon sugar and raisins inside) but on the savory side, I’d also use it for for baked chicken tiki masala risotto (baking it at the end makes it nice and creamy). Yummm
