Breakfast

Let The Madness Begin

Happy Monday!

I’m actually feeling productive so far because I just bit the bullet and paid my August school loan payment. Now I can breathe a little easier (and be a little poorer) for the rest of the month.

August is, by far, my BUSIEST month yet! I also printed out my monthly google calendar and started to fill the bad boy in

IMG_2405.JPG

There might be one more extra trip thrown in there that is a secret as of right now! 😉 For some reason I have an aversion to filling out my calendar online like a normal person would. I have to print it out and use a black pen. However, I do use google tasks and love the feeling of electronically drawing a line through each one as I finish. Can you say Type A personality? How do you guys keep on top of your life? In my mind, organization is key!

Breakfast was a bowl of Nature’s Path FlaxPlus cereal with soymilk!

I’m pulling my yoga clothes on and getting ready for 90 minutes of Shakti Flow at the studio followed by a rather massive grocery shop and some True/Slant goodness.
See you in a bit!

I’m a calendar queen. I must have at least 3-4 different calendars going on right now, some for work, some for personal use, some online, some off. I like the hand written ones best, so I know how you feel.

    Happy Monday Jenna.

I have to write stuff down as well. I’ll forget it’s on the computer. I love that cereal. It tastes like Total to me. Okay, I know you love frozen yogurt and I have to share this with you. I just came back from San Francisco last Thursday and while I was there running the San Fran marathon (qualified for Boston, yea) I had the best frozen yogurt. It’s in a liquor store called Michaelis in the Marina/Cow Hollow area. It’s on Union St. and there are all these cute shops. You have to check it out when you go for the Nike Women’s. I’m running the marathon and I can’t wait to go back. They have peanut butter fro yo and it’s seriously the best!!!!

I am a list person by all means. I will find little pieces of paper with grocery lists, to-do lists, whatever lists. I just recently found google tasks and love love it. I fell so accomplished seeing things scratched off. I will still have my scratch pieces of paper though. A girl can only give up so much.

I use an old fashioned hand-written calendar — as great as technology may be, I just love writing it down myself and physically ‘X’ing out the days that have passed. What can I say? I’m a weirdo 😉

Hey! Why are you going to Lexington? My boyfriend moved there—I am in Atlanta. It is a pretty fun town with lots of good eats. Let me know if you have time and maybe we could meet up or at least I could suggest some good eats! Monica

Oh I’m old fashioned too! I have to print everything out and write by hand. And I am a little OCD with organizing, I may or may not have a few planners and calenders?! But I mean I have to have one for my desk, one for my purse and one for my social life- I know call me crazy!

Have fun at yoga and have a great Monday 🙂

I’m all about my planner. I have to do lists and events written all through it and post its galore. I also use it to write down quotes I hear that I like and books I want to read! I need to write everything down or I forget it!

Calendar with post it’s. I love crossing things off! I always have a daily to-do list and I make sure that for every 2-3 tasks I put something on there for my personal/mental well-being, be it reading recipes, playing with DH in the pool, manicure, etc…

I am the same way. I have some obsessive compulsion that requires me to write my schedule by hand. Same with math problems. I like to see the entire thing written out before me. None of that calculator crap for this little “Type A”-er!

I much prefer hand writing tasks too…despite all the gadgets we have to do it electronically!! I think it’s something about having it where ever you go and being able to write anything anywhere on the page. I’m going on a massive grocery shop today too!

I would rather write a calender than use my blackberry as well! August is always a busy month for me to, trying to fit everything in before fall and it’s my b-day month I like your simple cereal and soymilk! Student loans make me cringe:(

I’m the same way! I was given a palm pilot years ago (long before the Crackberries came out) and I just couldnt use it because I love, love, love skimming through my planner by hand andm most importantly, crossing things off the list! I’ve never used gmail task though, great tip!

I use my Outlook calendar now, but all through highschool and college I was a slave to my day planner. It is SO satisfying to manually cross off your to-do list. Mmm, I need to go eat some brekkie now and get this week started!

How has the cereal been treating you as far as the fullness factor? Does it last at least 3 hours? Just curious

    Thanks and happy August 😉

it does keep me full! I couldn’t eat cornflakes and stay full but the FlaxPlus does because of the added protein. I love it!

then i end up throwing them away or dont really look at them haha, i think its just the process of getting it out of my head, and onto paper that is helpful.

and i keep a calendar like you 🙂

do you keep track of serving sizes for your cereal ?

I’m with you on the pen-and-paper organization! I use all kinds of spreadsheets and documents for other things, but for scheduling and organizing, a paper calendar lets me really get a sense of how my time needs to be laid out. I’ve never been successful at switching to electronic organizers. Plus, electronics don’t allow for cute little symbols and drawings!

I am definitely the same way about having to pencil things into an actual planner and I feel so much more organized when I write everything down. My boyfriend keeps all his scheduling in his headn, I don’t know how some people do it!

I have Post Its EVERYWHERE! My computer(s) are surrounded by them at work. The mirror in my bathroom at home has a few. Oh and my car is home to one of two stickies.
I also use Google Calendar for email reminders, like my dentist appointment next week I have to book 2 months in advance. Without those two things I’m lost! I hate writing in bulky planners. They remind me of being in school.

OH and my phone has a daily remind for my Pill. Gotta love technology!

I keep my room spotlessly clean. If the place I spend the most time in is organized, it inspires me to keep my life that way, too. Lol. And the paper-and-pen calendar thing, that’s a favorite of mine. It’s more personal.

    Have fun grocery shopping! 😛

I am the same as you…I have to print my calendar out and then write in it. Who knows why I can’t fill it in online? It just isn’t the same 🙂 I actually use a very old-school daytimer and just write everything down that way….I’d go crazy (and be unorganized) without it!
