Good morning!
I needed a break from oats this morning! I love’ em, don’t get me wrong, but weekends are my time to have a little fun with my breakfast so I decided to branch out this morning!
What you have here is a delicious yogurt bowl filled to the brim with deliciousness. I used 1 chobani (mental note to buy more yogurt today!), about 1/2-ish cup of my new favorite granola–Zoe’s Honey Almond, blueberries & blackberries (!!), a drizzle of almond butter, a sprinkle of muesli and a spoonful of raspberry preserves.
It was amazing. Definitely started my Sunday off right!
What is YOUR favorite yogurt messy bowl combo?
I finally updated my food philosophy page after many many moons (it still said I was a culinary student living in Orlando). Check it out!

February 22, 2009 at 7:59 amOMG my messy yogurt bowls are ridiculous! I eat them mostly in the summer because they get better the longer they sit, and I’m super busy in the mornings!! They’re usually 0% fage, frozen cherries, fresh peaches, rolled oats, puffed mixed grain cereal, cinnamon, and some sugar for extra sweetness. YUM!

February 22, 2009 at 8:35 amHey Jenna! I’ve been following your blog for a long time, but when you asked this question, I knew I had to chime in (I’m eating a yogurt “mess” right now!). 😉 My combos are always bizarre-sounding, but they’re so TASTY! My favorite is Fage Greek yogurt (~1 cup?), canned pumpkin, shredded carrots (yes!), applesauce, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, frozen berries, grapes, PB Puffins, and crushed nuts. Green tea powder is yummy too.

February 22, 2009 at 8:49 amchobani + puffins + blueberries + raisins + honey OR wallaby banana-vanilla + grapenuts + banana slices + maple (the possibilities are endless…). i also like bob’s red mill muesli– or any good muesli–soaked in any kind of yogurt (30 min or even overnight).

February 22, 2009 at 9:06 amHi Jenna, My favorite messy bowl is plain fage 2% mixed with pumpkin , banana slices, and a few golden raisins topped with 1/2 cup of Kashi Go Lean Crunch and drizzled with crunchy almond butter and TJ’s pumpkin butter- so yum! Or I mix it up with plain greek, mixed berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries), Go Lean Crunch, topped with almond slices and dried cranberries. Have an awesome Sunday!

February 22, 2009 at 9:23 amZoe’s is the BEST granola. Into my yogurt mess, I love a warm Vitabrownie and almond butter…maybe a banana if I’m feeling sassy. 🙂

February 22, 2009 at 9:25 ammmm that looks good! I would say my fave is probably greek yogurt, sliced banana, blackberries, quaker squares and a little granola…mmm I wish I hadn’t already had breakfast!

February 22, 2009 at 9:51 amI used to eat a “mess” like 2 maybe 3 times a day – as I am sure you know. I loved to mix Kashi Go Lean with greek yogurt and fruit but then I realized that Go Lean cereal was the culprit to some yucky tummy aches – I have to eat soy in small amounts. Starting my day with cold cereal is not the best choice for me – it is like eating air to my body (unless I eat more than a single serving). Now that I have been eating oats and oat bran, I feel satisfied and quite enjoy the simplisity of my bowls these days. I still mix yogurt with a little cereal as a snack but nothing like I used to compile into one bowl.

February 22, 2009 at 1:04 pmThis is a beautiful bowl! I want to reach out through the screen, grab it, and shove it down my throat–I mean, er, savor it in a ladylike fashion…
I like making overnight oats with nonfat plain yogurt, blueberries or strawberries or banana, a squirt of locally harvested honey, loads of cinnamon, and all natural PB! Sometimes I mix jam in if I use a banana, and other times I have tried adding a few spoonfuls of blueberry kefir to the mix, which is delish. I’m not sure that qualifies as a “mess” but it looks like one!

February 22, 2009 at 3:28 pmYou did a great job on updating your food philosophy page.
As for my fav messy bowl, I don’t have one. I’m so picky with yogurt and the only brand I can eat straight is Chobani but it’s hard to get around here. I do kind of like the Trader Joe’s Greek Non Fat Plain on my waffles so maybe I can try mixing stuff with that. Anyway, all I have mixed with the Chobani is granola and fruit but I like it on it’s own. Looking forward to reading what everyone else puts in their messy bowls, haven’t got a chance to read it yet.
