Dinner/ Exercise/ Fitness/ Lunch

Necessary, Definitely

Hi friends!

You aren’t missing much here in Tampa today—it cloudy, cloudy, cloudy….which is making Jenna very sleepy, lazy and sinus headache-y! This morning Ryan and I met my mom at church and then I headed over to meet the lovely Meghann at Greenwise for lunch! Since the weather is cool and cloudy I chose to have SOUP for lunch! I think Greenwise has the best soup ever—today I had a cup of delicious creamy chicken and rice:

Along with a mix of different salads all smooshed into one. Some mediterranean tuna salad, salmon salad and a few pieces of buffalo mozzarella tomato salad. They all were delicious—the tuna salad actually had large pieces of seared rare tuna in it….no flaky tuna here! And you can’t beat tomato mozzarella—especially when there is pesto in the mix!

I was stuffed after all this food and after a sad goodbye to Meghann (she will be back for race day on the 28th!), I met up with the boy and we took Mikan for a nice hour long walk! I just love long walks and we took a very scenic route through old neighborhood streets with historic family homes. I felt like being productive so I also did four sets of walking lunges (15 reps each set) down the street. Much to the embarrassment of both Ryan and Mikan. 😉

Then, Ryan went to hit golf balls and I went to the library and then home. I had been planning on running all day but never got around to it, so I did a quick 1.5 miles on the treadmill to keep up my 5K training.

As for dinner—-I felt like something LIGHT and HEALTHY after all the treats that have been involved in this weekend.

Honestly, I feel quite bloated from it all—starting with pizza and cookie cake on Friday night to last night’s FEAST and wine. I know my body and it was telling me it was time for a few days of health, starting with tonight. I’m not going to go all out and participate in the ever popular bloggie crap-free week (mainly because I can’t survive without chocolate peanut butter and it has sugar in it!), but for the next couple days I’m going to try to eat as healthy as possible. And no wine.

I really wasn’t even hungry for dinner tonight and have a sinus headache so I threw together something incredibly simple—-roasted brussels (roasted with evoo + sea salt at 400 for 20 minutes), baked garnet yam and a plain chobani. Boring, maybe. Necessary, definitely.

Followed by sugar cookie tea with stevia! Thanks, Sarah!!! =)

I was making bread the other day, and remembered your oatmeal version. Do you soak the oats before adding them?

My sister-in-law spontaneously does lunges. You made me think of her!

I feel like on Friday night I had the same – it’s Valentine’s day tomorrow mentality and kind of been overdoing it in the eating department ever since. Today my dinner plans were canceled (which would have meant another super caloric but very delicious meal) and I was actually excited about healthy eating for a day. It’s so funny how after a few days of splurges, your body really craves something healthy. I can’t live without chocolate either so I’m not doing the CFW challenge but I think it’s good to go back to basics and just eat as clean as possible. Good luck!

    Hi!
I don’t usually post, but am interested in your bible studies 🙂
My husband and I just started attending a Christian church in our area and I am very excited to learn more and have it become a part of me! Do you ever do any studies with your bf? Do you have any advice for a beginner? (if that makes any sense!)
    Thanks 🙂

      A + M,

Glad you are interested! I actually don’t do any studies with my boyfriend—I am currently doing one with one of my friends and do them by myself as well. I like doing Beth Moore studies because she is so engaging and really gets you into the Word. They aren’t really for couples though and are geared more towards a women’s ministry. You can find out more information on all that she offers at her website: http://www.lifeway.com/bethmoore . I have done Believing God and now am doing Esther and love it!! Also, you could see if your new church offers any studies—they usually do!
