Dinner

Rain Rain Go Away!

Bleh! Today’s weather is worse than yesterday’s in terms of dreariness factors. It’s been slowly drizzling, gray and windy all day long :(. I like rainy days but there’s only so much I can take! This morning as I ran out the door for work I grabbed a small baggie of grapes to take with me for a morning snack:

When I got home I definitely did not feel like the dinner I had planned— I was craving something warm! So…I dug into the depths of my freezer and pulled out some frozen, yet homemade, split pea soup from a couple weeks ago. A quick reheat on the stove and it was perfecto :). I also had veggies with 1/4 cup Cedar’s Hummus and about 10 kashi crackers.

I’m feeling much better now with something warm in my tummy but I still am going to make some herbal tea to bring to school…..and of course a larabar!! Sorry no picture, I totally forgot when I was getting my stuff ready. I’m sure you all know what they look like by now though! 🙂 I’m bringing the coconut cream pie flavor for tonight. I’ve never tried this and KNOW it won’t even begin to measure up to the greatness of the peanut butter cookie, but I’m sure it’s pretty yummy.

Off to school in the rain!

But first…..here’s a tentative look at my workout schedule this week!

Today: Active Rest (yoga)

Thursday: 20 minutes of treadmill sprints/Abs

Friday: Legs

Saturday: Biceps/Triceps/Shoulders

Sunday: Timed 5K run

Monday: Chest/Back/Biceps/30 min. elliptical cross-train

Tuesday: 30 minute run

Catch ya in the a.m.!

Ahh, so sorry about the lousy weather 🙁 Hopefully tomorrow will bring brighter skies!

I’ve actually never tried the Coconut Cream Pie flavor of the Larabar (shocking, I know, since I’ve tried all the other ones obviously, haha), but my dad likes it lot – so there’s one favorable opinion for ya! 😀

Rainy weather makes me lazy and unmotivated, but from the looks of your workout schedule it does NOT have the same effect on you! Keep up the good work!

Good to know that you are having yoga in your schedule. I find that I need at least one yoga session a week or I would feel unbalanced and out of alignment. Not sure if it’s true or just my imagination though 😛

    Have a great day ahead!

Mmm soup is the best thing on a rainy day to chear you up…and warm you up! I am definately going to try that recipe. Amy’s pea soup is awesome, but expensive and I will need quick dinners for the fall when I begin my classes. Oh wait that is only 2 weaks away. I am sure this soup will bring me through the super-long Vancouver rainy season!

Please do let us know how the coconut cream pie larabar tastes!

And thanks for the reply last night – it was well-put and helpful.

    Thanks,

    Kat

I had to take many breaks and walk or else I feel like my heart cant take it. Anybody have any advice on improving endurance and speed. I wanna join the track time but I am scared of being embarassed!

ATTN Californians! Specifically BethT, I don’t know if you saw my comment yesterday, but they DO sell Chobani in California! I bought some just this week at the Whole Foods in San Mateo. They had a full stock of them. Now the PB Larabar is a different story…….

    Steph:
Thanks for the info about the Chobani. I’ve been dying to try it after seeing it so much!

Also: Does in anyone else live in/near the Monterey area? I’m new here and am looking for some people to meet up with!
