Summering

Here are some photos of our quick trip to Tahoe from my Instagram stream. I dragged my big ol’ DSLR along and didn’t bring it out once…figures.

Enjoy!

Stayed: at a home in Kings Beach that I found via Homeaway from Vacasa Vacation Rentals. I was a little worried because it was incredibly affordable compared to other homes in the area (so much so that we thought it was way too good to be true). The house was small, but cozy (we were with Adam’s aunt and uncle)! It was perfect for us and had a great view to boot. We lucked out big time.

Ate: Wolfdales, Christy Hill, Jason’s, Blue Onion, Char-Pit

Read: Wild. Heaven Is For Real. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. <—-I can seriously knock some books out on vacation.

Played: Kayaking to Crystal Bay and back. Reading for hours in the hammock. Eating mile high cones of soft serve. Drinking beer in the hammock. Grilling goat’s milk triple cream brie cheese with honey, brown sugar and nuts. Laughing till my stomach hurt. Margaritas. Mimosas. Lots of iced tea. Tan lines.

I’ve only skied in Tahoe and I can honestly say your photos (these and previous ones) of your trips have convinced me I have to experience a warm vacation there! Someday when I’m back from Europe…. Your photos also make me want to experience that hotdog and the salmon. What a fabulous get-away! 🙂

Love your photos. I am from the city and grew up going to Tahoe at least once a summer. My family has a condo at Heavenly but we would stay in a cabin at Zephyr Cove. My grandparents met at church camp there (they are 93 and 89 years old now!) and honeymooned there, my parents honeymooned there, and my husband proposed there..it is an incredibly special place and I’m glad you enjoy it!!!
