Whew! Feel so much better with another 20 mile ride under my belt. Well, actually it was a 20.28 mile ride but who’s counting? 😉 I think Wednesday might become my “long ride” day from here on out because literally every weekend from now until the end of April is booked!
Before heading out, I ate an apple and then after about an hour I had 2 shot blocks. I was MORE than ready for a huge veggie sandwich around 12:30!
There was cheese, hummus, avocado and tons of veggies on this sandwich. I INHALED it. I also had a coconut water for some electrolyte action.
I need to do some major stretching later. My legs were already pretty sore from all the lunges I did yesterday and now I just feel a tad stiff. I’m going to write for a couple hours now and then head to the studio to work till 6. I see a green monster in my future….need to eat all that spinach I bought earlier in the week!
Enjoy your afternoon!

March 10, 2010 at 1:50 pm20 miles! That’s awesome! Maybe you found your true fitness calling. It always amazes me how biking and running use such different muscle groups. Someone who bikes regularly may have a hard time running, and vice versa. As a runner, I think I’d be lucky if I could bike 5 miles w/o passing out 🙂

March 10, 2010 at 2:57 pmWow 20 (.28) miles! That’s amazing! I wish I could get into cycling it seems easier on the knees than running…and I am totally jealous of your sandwich…did you make it yourself? If so….I want full deets! I love veggie sandwiches….I’m always looking for ideas for different combos…a deli near my workplace makes one with goat cheese, hummus, spinach, grated carrots and tomatoes on toasted whole wheat and it is awesome!

March 10, 2010 at 4:43 pmOh my Lord – that bread on that sandwich looks so good – soft and “tear-able” – is that multigrain?
cheese rocks on sandwiches 🙂
WTG on the ride – gosh…when I used to bike ride before I always found it “weird”, like sometimes just pedaling….not really a workout – didn’t get my heart rate up….but that was years ago when I had a bike in school…
thoughts???

March 10, 2010 at 4:52 pmIt’s so much easier for me to do the most exercise on the days I also should have class, weirdly enough. I figure as long as those miles get in sometime, that’s good enough!

March 16, 2010 at 8:29 pmgreat ride! I’m a big fan of shot blocks or luna moons on longer rides. I also love coconut water and did a post on it’s research. It has actually been used for IV hydration in other countries! I just wish I had a bit more sodium to be labeled as a ‘sports drink’.
