Dessert/ Dinner

Treated to Dinner + Wine!

Hey yall~ I just got back from dinner with the parents and now we are fixing to watch No Reservations (surprise, surprise…one of my favorites!) but before we sat down for the movie I wanted to blog! 🙂

Today for a snack I wasn’t that hungry because of a super lunch…I snacked on an orange though driving home and once I got home and unpacked those cookies….you know I just had to have one! They are SO good! Even my dad said (who is a total omnivore) “wow did you make those cookies at school? They are the best cookies I’ve ever had!” I took that as a thumbs up sign for vegan chocolate peanut butter!!

We went out to dinner at the wine bar/bistro I was talking about and I still wasn’t that hungry (lunch + cookie really filled me up!) so I just ordered some black bean hummus and pita breads (I probably ate about four of those pita wedges and most of the hummus!) and a large spinach salad with walnuts, roasted eggplant and roasted portobella mushrooms with a side of red rice. I also had two glasses of the most fab. petit syrah. Don’t you just love family outings?! When I got home (about 10 minutes ago) I dug into the cookies again and had two. I hope there are some left for Ryan when he gets back in town tomorrow! I think he would cry if I ate all the chocolate peanut butter cookies because that’s his favorite combo ever!

Hmmm, I just don’t understand the chocolate/peanut butter mix myself, but to each their own!

Umm… Peanut butter chocolate is THE most amazing combination ever!!! Better than…. bread and butter even!! better than… oats and banana (gasp!)… better than… a good steak a savvy cab (gasp! for all the vegans ; ) ) but yeah. I am not vegan but I have not seen a better looking cookie!!! I am “around the world” when it comes to protein sources. I’ll do mostly chicken, a little beef, and will do beans and dabble in black bean burgers and the like. I love it all pretty much!!!
I think I might just have to buy Eat Drink and Be Vegan if that’s where the latest baking spectacle came from though!!!!
True, I never thought I would post at 4:30 am but we all have those nights every now and then. Fortunately, I already had planned ahead, and my friends bought “munchies” and I advised them to buy things I HATE!! So now, oversnacking here!!! I will thoroughly enjoy my brunch tomorrow!!!
And thanks again for the cookbook recommendations!!
