Last night, I ate a crab the size of Sebastian on steriods.
Today, I was feeling inspired so I spent all of my weekly grocery money (oops) on a deluxe set of chalk pastels, paper and a new sketch book. And then I sat at the kitchen table and spent two hours drawing Adam a beautiful picture.
Hah! This is the photo I drew. I can’t show you the actual drawing…. you’d laugh at me!
While I was deep in my artistic zone, I broke Adam’s kitchen chair. I don’t know how. He laughed, I blushed, and then I presented him with my masterpiece. And then collected my supplies and went home. He says he will frame it and keep it forever!
Tonight we have a date night involving church, the local taco truck and The King’s Speech.
Tomorrow, dave farmar comes!!!!!!
The End.

January 15, 2011 at 4:34 pmThat’s so fun you decided to…pastel? Sketch? I clearly am not an artist.

January 15, 2011 at 4:35 pmLook forward to your review of the King’s Speech–we were neutral on it but everyone older than us seemed to love love it!

January 15, 2011 at 4:44 pmLove that : “The size of Sebastian”…okay, can somebody please send me a copy of The Little Mermaid!?
Do you draw for real though? I really want to see The King’s Speech. Firth is supposed to be amazing in it. I wonder if the movie is as good though or if it’s really the performance worth seeing? Let us know!

January 15, 2011 at 4:45 pmEventful weekend for you. We had a big snowstorm and I haven’t left my bed.
I am banned from any form of physical exercise for the next 5 months…and you definitely inspire me to find other things to put some love into. I’ve been reading — unfortunately, I made it halfway through “Freedom” by Jonathan Franzen, and while it is a tremendous book, I don’t think I can finish it – can’t give it the attention it deserves. I need to start making better picks, since I’m pretty much on bedrest.
Do you ever have to not finish a book? That bugs me, but oh well.
That movie sounds good. I hear Colin Firth gives an amazing performance. Enjoy it with your guy.

January 15, 2011 at 4:45 pmI just finished reading Her Daughters Dream (on my kindle!) – it was SO much better than Her Mothers Hope. At first I did not really want to read it but I decided to give it a go, so glad I did! Also, The Kings Speech is FANTASTIC! I cannot wait to hear what you think!

January 15, 2011 at 5:00 pmOhh c’mon! You told us about the picture..the least you could do is show the drawing! 🙂 We won’t laugh. Seriously, I’m sure if any of us laughed we’d be immense hypocrites.

January 15, 2011 at 5:03 pmI love all the colors! I think you could sell that picture and pay for the chalk. I would hang it on my wall. Enjoy Dave Farmer!

January 15, 2011 at 5:18 pmNot many people would appreciate my drawings either, but I love doing them. I do crafty things at least a few hours per week. It’s good for the soul… kind of like chocolate and avocados (just not together… I don’t think).

January 15, 2011 at 6:06 pmShow us your drawing!
I love that photo of the pastels… it’s inspiring me. One of my majors in college was art (since I knew I’d take a bunch of classes for personal enrichment, I picked up the major in addition to my “real major”) but I haven’t done anything in awhile. I want a deluxe set of pastels.

January 15, 2011 at 6:31 pmI’m actually really curious about this broken chair :p We had a friend come over (who happened to be pregnant) who was the last straw on one end of our futon. I haven’t laughed that hard in a while but on the upside we now have a use for the phonebooks the apartment keeps passing out 😀

Can you please please direct me to the post that you had sometime in 2010 where readers listed TONS of books they’d recommend you reading? I just spent 20 minutes going through your archives and couldn’t find it? 🙁

January 15, 2011 at 10:38 pmOh man, I haven’t used pastels in SO LONG! I haven’t sketched or anything like that in a long time in general. The closest I’ve gotten is coloring in a coloring book. Not quite the same thing. 😉
