“Try the Amazing Grass 30 day challenge. Pay careful attention to how you feel mentally and physically before you start taking Amazing Grass. Take the recommended amount of our products twice a day for 30 days. If you donβt feel healthier, weβll give you your money back.* “
Anybody with me?? I have definitely noticed an increase in my energy levels on the days when I previously choked down a glass of dirt Green Vibrance. I’m on a mission to eat as clean as possible and have the most energy as possible to help me with my athletic goals, so I am going to do this challenge. I know this stuff can be pricey, so to help out Eat, Live, Run readers Amazing Grass has generously extended a 15% discount. Just enter the code EatLiveRun at the online checkout.
When I received these products and was reading up on them all, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Amazing Meal blend has a whopping 10 grams of protein PLUS greens in it!!!! That freakin’ rocks! This would be the ultimate addition to any smoothie or shake and I can’t wait to try it. Review on that product this weekend.
This morning before work I was excited to try my first Amazing Grass product to kick off my 30 day challenge!
I chose the berry flavored greens for a “gentler” approach to drinking dirt greens. I decided to be hard-core again this morning and mix it purely with water because, as the Amazing Grass people claim, “it tastes great with just water!”
The verdict?
I am VERY pleased to announce that this was a MUCH milder “greens experience” than my prior experience. There was no strong “algae-ish” taste that I felt was present in Greens Vibrance. Granted, I tried the wussy version (berry flavored), but I was happy with this product and managed to get down the entire glass with no gagging sensation. I still think that this would be much better in a smoothie or freshly squeezed juice, but it wasn’t dreadful plain.
This morning I also (and hesitantly due to prior experience) dug into the bars that Amazing Grass sent me—-
I played it safe and tried a chocolate flavored one—
Now, I will admit that I was VERY nervous about this bar. I mean, the combination of greens in a bar form just DOES NOT sound good to me. Anyone?! I decided that I must try it though….I mean the company went through the trouble to send them for me and is obviously proud of their products. I thought I had to give it a fair shot at least and then I would never eat it again if I hated it. So, I went in for the first bite…..or, rather, nibble. The tiniest nibble ever!
And……..to my utter delight and surprise, IT WAS GOOD!
Seriously! And I am totally not just saying this. It really was good! The texture was like a Milky Way bar and I loved the dark chocolate coating. I could not tell AT ALL that there were “greens” inside and instead I tasted dried cranberries and almonds. It was actually delicious. I brought one to work to give to my co-worker and my dad also tried one this morning….both said the exact same thing! They both said that they expected to have to spit it out because, well, it is greens and chocolate……..but then they actually loved it!
This bar had 230 calories and was very nutrient dense. There was zero crash mid-morning and I was left feeling satisfied all the way until breakfast, 4 hours later! Way to go, Amazing Grass! I am a tough critic and it totally passed the test.
So……all that being said…….who’s with me?! Anyone up to the 30 day challenge? I have felt SO energized all day long and not consumed a single drop of caffeine. For the first time, I don’t even NEED a mid-afternoon Friday nap! I am incredibly impressed and feel pretty passionate about the results here. If I can still feel full of energy after being up since 3 AM and working 9 hours, you can too! Try it! π

April 17, 2009 at 2:00 pmI am glad that is working so well for you!! My budget wont let me do the challenge with you but if you feel great after the challenge then I will definitly invest in the product. Meanwhile I might go and try one of their bars though.

April 17, 2009 at 2:06 pmI try to do a green smoothie for breakfast at least 3 days per week and I love the way it feels… I’ve thought about adding a powder like this to them and would LOVE to do a challenge with you! Do they recommend a specific product? Your quote from them just says the recommended amounts of the products twice daily for 30 days… which products? What should I buy? I’m on the website now but could go buy it from the store down the road to save on shipping : ) If I weren’t snowed in today I’d be there right now!

April 17, 2009 at 2:20 pmIf I had the money I would totally do it! I’ve tried the chocolate powder before and it was pretty good =)
I thought that was a candy bar at first! The outside coating looks like a real candy bar haha

April 17, 2009 at 2:23 pmI am very interested – just worried that it will have a similar effect as wheat grass – looking into it.

April 17, 2009 at 2:32 pmI have tried probably around 8 different brands of Greens, and the Amazing Grass is by far the best. It tastes the best and has the most protein. I drink 1-2 glasses of greens a day and couldn’t live without them! Use them in place of coffee, they wake you right up with no effects from the acid in the coffee.

April 17, 2009 at 2:36 pmAnd to Melissa above ^
I know exactly what you mean about Wheat Grass, it makes me feel awful and dizzy and nauseous. These Greens don’t AT ALL! You get a buzz of energy right after you drink them, I promise, no Wheat Grass side effects.

April 17, 2009 at 2:38 pmI’d love to try it with ya, Jenna! I have been feeling sooo tired lately and not so healthy… and I have a job just like yours… standing ALL day long!! I’ll give it a shot!! Exciting!!!

April 17, 2009 at 2:41 pmThis looks very interesting! I’ve never tried this type of product before, but I’ve had problems with multi vitamins upsetting my stomach, so I stopped taking them. This is probably a much better alternative. And if it helps me have more energy, I’m all for it! π I’m definitely considering ordering it.

April 17, 2009 at 3:38 pmI’m in, but I need to actually get the stuff first…when are you starting the challenge?
jenna
April 17, 2009 at 6:03 pmRuneatrepeat,
I’m thinking during the month of May or starting now and people that want to join in can just join in whenever and let me know how their energy levels are going throughout their 30 days. After only ONE day I am hooked! Its like the high of caffeine, sans coffee and plus 9 servings of veggies.
RUnToFinish
April 17, 2009 at 3:39 pmI doubt I could get it soon enough to start a challenge with you…and I’m still not sure about just adding water.. mm seems intense. BUT I could probably do my 30 straight days of my green smoothies!

April 17, 2009 at 4:31 pmHey Jenna! I don’t know if you have the chocolate greens powder but I love mixing the chocolate powder, a frozen banana, and a handful of blueberries – it tastes just like chocolate pudding! But raw and delicious, of course π

April 17, 2009 at 6:21 pmThat is a huge order of stuff there π Did you just pick and choose the stuff you wanted? Or was it some kind of intro pre-packaged deal? I would have no idea where to start with that kind of thing so a pack of things they recommend would be helpful π
jenna
April 17, 2009 at 6:24 pmAmy,
They just told me they were sending “samples”!!! I would recommend starting with the chocolate energy bars and the superfood powder…probably chocolate to mask the taste of greens even more!
Amy
April 17, 2009 at 7:34 pmThanks for the tip! Have a great weekend!

April 17, 2009 at 8:18 pmI’m totally down for joining you on this challenge. I’ve been intrigued by this green goodness ever since you started blogging about Green Vibrance. I’ve seen it at WF, but wasn’t brave enough to try it. But Amazing Grass looks like a better alternative since it offers a Choco flava. I’m getting excited just thinking about it.
BTW you were always quite beautiful, but I can def see a radiant glow in your complexion ever since you started eating raw and downing Hulk juice (aka Green Vibrance). ^^

April 17, 2009 at 9:03 pmI’m down! I just ordered a can of the green powder (couldn’t find the berry). I’m a sucker for anything Jenna pimps!

April 19, 2009 at 5:15 pmJenna…i am digging this offer and plan to make my purchase soon. Thanks for sharing about it. If I like it then I plan to purchase some for my year long trip to Malawi, Africa. I’m a little nervous about eating well over there so maybe this will be an answer to my prayers. Thanks again.

May 12, 2009 at 1:04 pmI tried Amazing Grass today (chocolate) … it was OK on it’s own, but when blended with a banana it was great! And the best part is that I usually am dragging my butt throughout the day, but I’m doing OK today! Usually i want to nap before going to work, and not today! I think I need to get some of this π

December 31, 2012 at 7:02 pmI drink the Greens & am like most of you—worried about the taste and gagging ! I mixed it into orange/guava juice & blended with my hand emulsifier . It was just fine!! no gag reflex…………..thank goodness – can’t go wrong with this stuff!!!
