Oh goodness…….we STUFFED ourselves tonight!!!!!!
Gahhh I am SO full right now…but it was worth it! I started with a glass of an amazingly crisp and fruity King Estate pinot gris—
And I just HAD to order the special “crabuccino”, a crab bisque served in a cappuccino glass. HOLY YUM. that’s all I can say right about now—rich, creamy and just plain amazing. The foam on top is totally just cream………SO rich…….so good. So full and bloated right now. Ugh.
And Ryan ordered the “sweetheart sushi platter” for an appetizer. I vowed to only eat 2 pieces because I didn’t want to get too full and not be able to eat my dinner, but it was just so good that I had 3! One of the rolls was a spicy tuna and tempura grouper and the other was a shrimp and cream cheese roll with king crab and baked scallop on top. YUM.
A house salad with rice wine vinegarette:
For my entree, I chose one of the specials—the red snapper. It came with wasabi mashed potatoes and green beans and was very yummy as well. I definitely ordered the sauce on the side but oh well. It was good! I was quite full, however, and by the time my food came and only ate about half of everything.
Ryan went all out and ordered the surf and turf! I had a few bites of his lobster dipped in butter and it was quite delightful to say the least
I had a glass of Erath pinot noir with dinner, one of my favorites, and by the end of it all we were quite full….obviously. However….the dessert menu came and as we all know, desserts are my specialty and I just HAD to sample something.
We chose the white chocolate banana mousse to split and were not let down!
Note to self: when your dress starts to feel reallyyyyy tight around your mid-section, it might be time to put down the fork. I just loove going out to dinner and get so excited that I always overeat. Oh well. It was Valentine’s Day and Ryan’s parents were SO nice to give us a pretty hefty gift card to this restaurant. We were so thankful!!!!
My eyes are shutting involuntarily now so I think its time to hit the sack. Here’s another picture of my Valentine and I….please note the horrific tank top tan lines from tennis today!

February 15, 2009 at 8:10 amWhat a fantastic-looking night, and I hear you on the elastic waist pants! My boyfriend and I went to dinner at a wine and tapas bar that specializes in amazing cheese plates…yes, definitely amazing, and definitely filling. I have never been so excited about running in my life as I am this morning! But you *have* to indulge a little on Valentine’s Day…it’s practically a requirement 😉
Glad you had a nice evening!

February 15, 2009 at 2:32 pmI almost screamed when I saw you were drinking Kings Estate! That winery is located like 15 minutes from where I live…if you ever make it the Pacific Northwest you have to check it out (and their Pinot Gris just happens to be my favorite local wine). Your date looked like a ton of fun! I’m salvating over that sushi…
