Good morning!
Can you believe today is already the last day of November???! Where did this YEAR go? Seriously, it’s been a blink on an eye.
This morning definitely called for a big green smoothie:
I felt totally awful until making this…..I slept horribly last night (was reading blog comments at 4 a.m….why why why) and knew I needed something intense to start this Monday. I used a scoop of chocolate Amazing Meal, about 4 cups raw spinach, 2 tsp maca powder, a glob of naturally more peanut butter, a frozen banana and a cup of unsweetened almond milk. Mmmmmmm 🙂 much better!
I’ve got a little agenda for today involving coffee with Tracy, cleaning the house, getting some freelance articles done and working out.

I’m SO excited!!!!!!!!
My two best friends from high school are coming to visit on Thursday for the weekend!
Last time I saw both Christie and Alissa together was in Charleston (miss it SO much!) when I went for that little spontaneous trip last May….and now we are heading out west to visit me and wine country. I can’t wait!

November 30, 2009 at 8:47 amGirlfriends visiting?? Super fun!! One of my best friends is coming for Christmas and I can’t wait to see her! Something to definitely get you going through the week 🙂
On the sleep front – not sure how much trouble you have sleeping (and given the crazy year you have had, who could blame you??!!), but my husband uses a Melatonin supplement, (something the body produces naturally) that helps you go to sleep and often stay asleep (it’s non-habit forming). I’m not a doctor, but maybe it’s something you could look into if you happen to be in a health food store. The friend who recommended it to my other 1/2 is actually a doctor, so it’s indirectly endorsed!! 🙂 The reason he started taking it was b/c he didn’t want to use Ambien et al. It got him through a very stressful couple of months at work. I don’t use it and this is more a friendly suggestion not a product endorsement 🙂
Sounds like the green monster was more than enough this morning!

November 30, 2009 at 9:47 amAwww, I’m happy to hear you’ll be reuniting with old friends. That’s always fun.
That green monster sounds super-packed with nutrients and yumminess! I’m going to keep my eye open for this magical maca powder. If I can drop $25 on gourmet dark chocolate, then surely I can invest in super-healthy Maca powder.

November 30, 2009 at 11:38 amOoooh, a weekend with your girls! You will have a ball showing them around like the new local that you are 🙂
I can’t sleep either if I do blog-related things right before hitting the pillow; it’s so bad that the Mr. has taken to putting a big “Do Not Open” post-it note on the laptop after 10 pm; otherwise I dream of links and nested pages.

December 1, 2009 at 6:59 amHi! I love green juice but usually juice in a juicer….I have read a lot about “green monster” drinks prepared in a blender. How did you make your green juice? I think a blender would be quicker to make and quicker to clean up???
Thanks!
PS- I live in TX and love wine country. I LOVE LOVE ZIN- one of my fav places to eat. There is a breakfast joint in the same square that has a screen door and serves poached eggs on top of polenta- it is amazing!!! You may just inspire me to go serve wine…a dream I have had for a while now…..
