Hey!
I’m about to head in to work…Halloween party tonight and apparently they are having a little caramel making crisis over there right now that I have to take care of. 😉
This morning I met Kelly for coffee and we ended up chatting again for almost two hours!
Mmm french press coffee!
I was kind of obsessed with taking the perfect picture of my coffee mug….
I should have gotten this beautiful latte! 🙂
I didn’t get home until 11:00 and then had to rush in the shower and make a quick lunch before a 12:30 conference call. I did get to sample some of this yummy new bread though…BlogHer Food seems like it was AGES ago but I wanted to take the time now to thank Arnold Bread for being my primary sponsor for the conference. As part of my sponsorship agreement, I agreed to review several of their products, which will appear on the blog for the next couple weeks. This is definitely one of the perks of being a food blogger! 😉
Anyways, this bread is part of the Stroehmann Dutch line, which is also under the “Oroweat label” out West. I loved how SOFT this bread was and it made a delicious egg sandwich (1 egg, 1 egg white, hot sauce and muenster cheese). The only drawback to this bread was that there IS high fructose corn syrup in the ingredient list, which I was not aware of until now. However, it is 100% whole wheat and makes for a nice fluffy sandwich.
+ a pear for yet more food photography on my wood floor.
Alrighty—gotta jet to work now! I promise to tell you all about my costume later tonight when I get home. I feel sort of lame but oh well….you’ll see! 😉

October 29, 2009 at 1:50 pmI can’t wait to see your costume. 🙂 I hate dressing up for Halloween, I think it stemmed from the girls always dressing slutty in college. I can’t wait to see!

October 29, 2009 at 2:02 pmMy roommate ran the Philly 1/2 marathon and got was able to snag 4 of those Stroehmann’s wheat loaves to bring home. We made tons of pb&j sammies, french toast, and bread pudding with that soft, yummy bread. I think ezekiel sprouted grain bread is the polar opposite of Stroehmann’s – but it’s still my fav brand. I love the heartiness and chew.

October 29, 2009 at 3:12 pmAgreed… can’t get down with the HFCS, no way, no how… but I can give you props for your method of eggs, cheese and hot sauce sammie… great combo!

October 29, 2009 at 3:22 pmYou can definitely tell that you got a new camera – your pictures look great!
I love Orowheat bread out here, it’s one of the ones I usually buy at the store, although I also don’t like the fact that it has HFCS. Maybe they’ll change it?
Have a good day at work!
Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun)
October 29, 2009 at 3:50 pmThat bread is so soft it can’t stand up! I love chewy, soft bread for sandwiches. Particularly, PB and J.
Looking forward to the costume reveal! Still don’t know if I’m going to go for it and wear one this year or not. Whatever it may end up being, it’ll be half-hazard and random. Maybe that’s what I’ll tell people.
“What are you supposed to be?”
“Half-hazard and random.”

October 29, 2009 at 3:51 pmMmm that coffee looks so good! Your hardwood floors are seriously gorgeous, haha. They make a great backdrop!

October 29, 2009 at 4:13 pmAn egg and cheese sandwich with fluffy wheat bread sounds like my kind of meal. And hot sauce really does go with everything! (OK, except maybe oatmeal…)
Love the new camera.

October 29, 2009 at 4:29 pmThat latte looks like a work of art! Would you believe I’ve never had one!…and I’ve even worked in 3 different coffee shops during University ?!! Haha.
Halloween parties are sooo fun! Hope you have a great time…and avert the caramel disaster!
I like Chelsea’s costume idea! “Half-Hazard and Random!”
Where do you buy your Arnold’s bread by the way?? I’ve never seen it here – I live in Canada – but I guess alot of our products and stores are different…the closest WF’s is about 5 hours away in the ‘big’ city…and I still live in a populated city as it is!!

October 29, 2009 at 7:57 pmYou and Kelly look so casual/Peet’s Coffee on Fillmore St. [Pacific Heights] San Francisco. I just went t TJs and out to dinner in Carmel where had two glasses of wine and feel like crashing in front of the TV with the bag of Cheeto-like but healthier TJ product…but told the restaurant I’d blog about them so better get to it! Then the bag of Cheetos. Dinner, 2 wines, bag of Cheetos….not exactly a can of Slim-Fast…..Bwahaha.
Can’t wait to see costume. Especially if lame…those are even funnier!!
