Day of Rest?

by jenna on October 11, 2009

Happy Sunday!

I actually have to work on this glorious Sunday but have tomorrow off…it’s going to be my mission to find a yoga studio. Hopefully working on Sundays won’t become a pattern because I’d love to find a church here….I miss mine back home a whole lot.

Anyways, this morning I finally made the PERFECT cup of coffee! I bought a larger french press from Target yesterday because the tiny one cup one that I had been using was just leading to messy disasters.

I’m officially addicted. I don’t think I’ll ever use a coffee maker again….french press is where it’s at.

Plus oatmeal (soymilk, oats, banana, cinnamon, pumpkin butter, almond butter, mmmmmm)

So I found out yesterday that I definitely have 1 month to find a new place to live. I’m pretty bummed, not going to lie. I LOVE this place and this is the first “bad” thing that’s happened out here. Everything was going so smoothly…I should have knocked on wood a little more. As for now, it’s back to Craigs List and I’m just praying something works out. As much as I adore this little place, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Sad!

Time to shower and get ready for WORK! Enjoy your Sunday!

That’s too bad that you have to move! Have a great day at work – at your ridiculously cool job!

Bree October 11, 2009 at 8:43 am

Sorry about having to move again! Hopefully something will come up soon & then you can really get settled. Enjoy work! Oh, and I love the new header!

Lizzie October 11, 2009 at 8:43 am

Hang in there Jenna – as great as your current place is, it just means there is something even better for you at your next one!! Funny – I read the other day how you were going to look for a yoga place and just for kicks I googled it:

You really have an amazing life there!! :)

Jenna October 11, 2009 at 8:45 am

I love the new header on your blog!
Sorry about having to move again, but hopefully you will find something even better that you fall even more in love with than the place you are currently at. Keep your head up!

Rebecca October 11, 2009 at 8:46 am

Love the new header! Sorry about your apartment. I’m sure you’ll find an even better one! I think I need a french press right now.

MelissaNibbles October 11, 2009 at 8:46 am

Sorry to hear you have to move again. At least you’ll be able to look at places in person this time though. I hope you find one with better heat :)

Simone P:T October 11, 2009 at 8:52 am

I am all about living by the words “everything happens for a reason.” When I first moved out of the dorms and into my own apartment, I had moved in with my two best friends. Let’s just say two weeks later I moved into a small studio apt by myself after my parents got involved and threatened the two girls with changing the locks if they didn’t sign me off the lease. It is a long story but what I thought was going to be the best living situation ever, turned into a nightmare as they were NOT respectful of me, my belongings, and my needs. They also turned into MAJOR b!tches after I moved out and spread the nastiest rumors about that were completely untrue. I was so hurt, but I learned some very valuable lessons from the whole mess-and-a-half. You might not know why you aren’t guna be living in the cute attic for the entire year, but for some reason or another, you are guna move out in a month and move into the place you are meant to call home! :)

Susan October 11, 2009 at 8:55 am

Ohno! I thought you’d have the chance to get settled there! Guess not yet – it’s probably for the best. I bet you’ll find a new spot that’s 10x as wonderful!

Michelle October 11, 2009 at 8:56 am

may you find a church and home to call ‘home’. amen.

BethT @ Pretty By The Bay October 11, 2009 at 9:05 am

Sorry to hear about your place. Hope you find something equally cool in Healdsburg.

Madeline @ Greens and Jeans October 11, 2009 at 9:07 am

I’m sorry you have to move again! I am a big believer in things working out for the best, so I have no doubt that you will find a little place that you will love even more!

Kat (Kat's Daily Plate) October 11, 2009 at 9:15 am

Ugh, Jenna that sucks. It must be terrible to want to get all moved in and cozy but have to think about packing up in one month… I am sure you will find another cute gem, though!

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is October 11, 2009 at 9:27 am

I hope you can find something that you love even more!

Cynthia (It All Changes) October 11, 2009 at 9:36 am

Awww sorry you have to move. But maybe God has an even better place in mind for you and this was a quick safe haven until it was available.

I will be praying that you can find a home church and make it a place you love just like your home church in Florida.

Abby (Abby's Vegan Eats) October 11, 2009 at 9:37 am

Bummer about finding a new place.. good luck!!! At least you had a delightful breakfast to make up for the not-so-good news! :)

Lisa October 11, 2009 at 9:50 am

Hi Jenna! I love my French press too. I use mine to make cold-brewed ice coffee a lot of the time. You’ll have to try it; I found the “recipe” on smitten kitchen. Congratulations on your move and all the exciting things that are happening for you.

Deva (Voracious Vorilee) October 11, 2009 at 9:53 am

I am so sorry that you have to find a new place – the one you’re currently in is so adorable! I am sure that everything will come together and you will find a new apartment very quickly.

Shannon (The Daily Balance) October 11, 2009 at 10:14 am

so sorry to hear you’ll have to find a new place! But I’m sure wherever you end up you’ll make it just as great 😉

Sana October 11, 2009 at 10:23 am

Hahaha Craigs list is sooo sketch, but good luck!

Tay October 11, 2009 at 10:25 am

You have the right attitude – wasn’t meant to be! I’m sure you’ll find something so much better :-) Good luck looking!

kay (eating machine) October 11, 2009 at 10:26 am

aw, that sucks. i don’t like looking for places… i’m so excited we’re buying a house because i HATE moving! good luck finding somewhere new!

Dee October 11, 2009 at 10:38 am

I love your Target french press! Pressed coffee is the very best. I’m so sorry to hear you have to leave this cute little attic apt.! But maybe your next place will be even better! Happy Sunday!

Julia October 11, 2009 at 10:56 am

I really wish you the best of luck with finding a new place that’s gonna be a great home for you:)

xxx Julia (Taste of Living)

Chloe (Naturally Frugal) October 11, 2009 at 11:04 am

I love my french press, it’s so easy and takes no time at all. Plus, I find the flavor to be a lot better. Also – love your new design, very pretty!
Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be able to find another place soon. As around the winery and keep searching craigslist, people are desperate for renters right now. Good luck!

Kelly L. October 11, 2009 at 11:04 am

Hey Jenna,

Why do you have to find a new place?

Joelle (The Pancake Girl)) October 11, 2009 at 11:06 am

A day of rest sounds lovely and much needed… I think I may have missed you explaining this, but why do you have to move out in a month?

Julie October 11, 2009 at 11:09 am

Thats such a bummer about having to move again. But now maybe you can find a place with working heat and a bigger free internet bubble. Good luck on your search!!

Jaima October 11, 2009 at 11:17 am

Good luck finding a new church home…I was in your old bible study at Palma Ceia and just want you to know that we are continuing to pray for you from afar!

Pure2Raw Twins October 11, 2009 at 11:20 am

Just remember that things happen for a reason! Therefore maybe your next place will be even better. I wish you much success in your search! Glad that you got your coffee to work out.

caitlin October 11, 2009 at 11:23 am

i like your new header.

and if you dont email me with an update about NYC i will kill you.

love you!

Suzanne de Cornelia October 11, 2009 at 11:56 am

Love the new header! Sorry for your trouble to have to move again—but am sure you’ll find an even better place.

FoodCents October 11, 2009 at 12:00 pm

Moving is indeed a pain in the rear. You might find, as many other wise souls have mentioned, it is all for the better. Maybe you will find an ideal place right across the street from your ideal yoga studio… stranger things have happened.

Best to you, Jenna!!!

lindsey October 11, 2009 at 12:08 pm

I bet you’ll find something SO amazing!! Love the new banner :)

lk October 11, 2009 at 12:33 pm

I love french press coffee… I recently got rid of my coffee maker too. All about simplification. Sometimes going back to the “old” way is worth it! And the FP really doesn’t take that much longer.

Courtney (The Hungry Yogini) October 11, 2009 at 1:10 pm

What a bummer about moving! But I’m 100% sure everything will be ok. I remember earlier this year, when things were really difficult…I knew big things were on your horizon…it’s all coming true, my dear. It will all be ok. =)

Kristen October 11, 2009 at 1:13 pm

I don’t know if I quite understand the concept of the french press…do you heat up water and pour it in? O.o

emily October 11, 2009 at 1:55 pm

I’m sorry about your apartment, I’m sure you’ll find something even better though!

Heather (Live,Love, Enjoy Nature) October 11, 2009 at 2:03 pm

Best of luck finding a new place :) you’ll find some amazing I bet!

Daria @ Daria Can Cook October 11, 2009 at 2:07 pm

Aw, no fun! Good luck finding a new place!

christie, honoring health October 11, 2009 at 2:22 pm

I love your new header, it is really pretty!

Good luck finding a new place, when one door closes, another one opens!

I wanted to let you know that all that has been going on for you has really inspired me to pursue life and live my passions. I recently decided to become certified to teach yoga and as of this morning, I was accepted into a program and I start next weekend. I’m so excited to start this journey, thanks for inspiring me.

Island Girl Eats October 11, 2009 at 2:29 pm

We used to have a french press and it is true that they do make better coffee.
That’s a shame about your apartment. It looked really cute and cozy.

Ellen @ peaceinmotion October 11, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Love that french press. It seriously makes one of the best cups of coffee EVER.

Sorry to hear about the living sitch. If it makes you feel any better, I found my California apartment through craigslist, took it sight unseen, and it ended up being one of the greatest places to live!

kristen October 11, 2009 at 3:27 pm

I was wondering where you got your watch that tracks your miles when running. I was interested in getting one. Thanks!

Madelin @ What is for breakfast? October 11, 2009 at 3:40 pm

Oh that is really crappy :(, you’ll find something though, and you have a whole month at least to find it! Enjoy your Sunday and goodluck on the yoga search.

Nicole October 11, 2009 at 4:14 pm

Good luck in all your upcoming searches!

julie October 11, 2009 at 4:17 pm

I don’t comment too much…but I’m sorry that you’re having to move so soon after you’ve arrived!

I just moved to Columbus, OH from Birmingham, AL a couple months ago and I made your chicken enchiladas when my parents came to visit last weekend, they were DELICIOUS and we all loved them!

Manda October 11, 2009 at 4:25 pm

Hey Jenna! Goodness, I’m sorry about your apartment. That’s a bummer. I’m also curious about why you have to move. No worries if you want to keep it off the blog, but I honestly can’t think of a reason why someone would even let you into a space if they weren’t going to rent it to you… Glad you like the French press and good luck in your search!!

Lizzy October 11, 2009 at 4:27 pm

stay strong jenna! things will work out!

Kaitlyn October 11, 2009 at 4:28 pm

Why do you have to move? How did you find the place you are at now? Maybe your friends can help you find a new place?

Good luck!

Tammy (Defining Wellness) October 11, 2009 at 4:36 pm

Awww, I’m sorry you have to move! Hopefully you’ll find something even better!

Heather McD (Heather Eats Almond Butter) October 11, 2009 at 4:59 pm

I have faith that you’ll find a new place, and it will be great.

I’ve never made French press coffee. I think I need to. :)

Jenna October 11, 2009 at 5:23 pm

sorry to hear about the news jenna! but why do you have to move?!

Andee (Runtolive) October 11, 2009 at 5:44 pm

Good luck with everything! You never know, you might love the next place even more :)

Evan Thomas October 11, 2009 at 5:45 pm

Aww, well I bet you’ll find a new place you love in a month. Think about how far you’ve came unexpectdly over the past month and how much time changes things

Jil October 11, 2009 at 6:02 pm

I’m sure you’ll be able to find yourself a great place, and eventually you won’t be able to imagine yourself someplace else! I’ve always wanted to try a french press — but I’ve been intimidated by them…perhaps I’ll give ’em a shot! :)

maria October 11, 2009 at 6:14 pm

Best of luck with your apartment hunting. How annoying since you just moved in!

Marcia October 11, 2009 at 6:15 pm

So I guess I missed why you have to move, that is a total bummer.

I read back a few posts…don’t beat yourself up on the 6 mile run instead of 11. You really should do a low mileage day the week before your run. That’s my story! (I’m planning on 8 miles the week before my half). I think you’ll do just fine!!

Mom October 11, 2009 at 6:37 pm

AWE…. I agree with Manda. Just Know The best is around the corner. I will be there to help!

Peanut Butter Bliss October 11, 2009 at 6:58 pm

sorry to hear that you have such a short amount of time in your new place :\
good luck finding a yoga studio!

J @ whole body love October 11, 2009 at 8:13 pm

I’m things will work out with a new place. Look how many things have fallen into place for you lately! It seems as though your path is predestined and your life is taking the appropriate twists and turns 😉

Amanda October 11, 2009 at 8:21 pm

Sorry you have to move again, thats a lot of work! BUT maybe your new place will have better internet : )

Devan Geselle October 11, 2009 at 10:37 pm

a month to find a place!? gah. you can do it!! <3

your oatmeal looks amazing.
and yes, french pressed coffee is SO much better than the coffee makers!

Jac October 12, 2009 at 5:48 am

sorry u’ve to find another place.. hopefully you can find one.. maybe even a BETTER one!

Sarah @ See Sarah Eat October 13, 2009 at 7:24 am

Well, I hope the next place you find is so perfect that you don’t even remember the place you are now 😉 Good luck to you!

Love the French press, I’m going to have to hit up Target. I hate my coffee maker!
