Jammin’

by jenna on June 21, 2010

Holy moly on a poly, this sandwich…..!

IMG_8949
Sorry. I’m getting all hot and bothered just by looking at it again. It was that good. Simple, too. And did I mention delicious? Done and done.
Tempeh, Goat Cheese and Raspberry Jam Sandwich
1 sandwich roll (I use Whole Foods brand 100 calorie sandwich thins)
1/3rd block of tempeh, sliced into two thin parts
1 tbsp raspberry preserves
1 ounce goat cheese
Smash yo’ jam, cheese and tempeh together on the roll. Devour.
I’m off to go close the blinds and lick the jam jar. Someone stop me…….I dare you.

I goat cheese and jam together. I can’t speak for the tempeh, but I have goat cheese and fig jam on toast every morning!

Hi Jenna,

I may have missed this in past posts, but where do you buy your Tempeh? Is it sold at TJs?

Thanks!

This combo always makes my mouth water, but for some reason I never have all of the ingredients on hand at the same time. Oh, and licking the jam jar = totally acceptable.

Jenna,

That looks flippin’ amazing! I had tempeh for the first time yesterday because for some reason I never thought it was gluten free! I will have to try that sammich on some of my GF bread or perhaps wrap. I have some fig goat cheese, so I will throw that on there instead…i’m sure it’s gonna rock my world :-)

Your blog lately seems repetitive and honestly really boring. I don’t know how any one would want to comment on picture of a sandwich ???

Reply

You kind of just did, Kate.

I don’t know why anyone would bother taking time out of their day to leave a nasty comment just because they didn’t like the blog content. Move on if that’s the case.

44 SallyH June 21, 2010 at 8:45 pm

I so want to like tempeh because that really offers so many more options to my veggie eating, but, ugh! Someone please tell me what is to like about it??

And, um, Kate #33, I’m going to give you the attention you obviously crave and answer: because a tempeh, cheese and jam sandwich isn’t something most people would think of or try without this post–as you can tell from the comments above. That’s the point of a food blog. To talk about food.

Whoa… saw the reference to this in your latest post about baking rolls. I thought….eew, tempeh and jam!? Okay, I can see the goat cheese and jam… but tempeh… just never thought of as something to go with something sweet. But I trust you. If you say it is good, I will try it!
