Holy moly on a poly, this sandwich…..!
Sorry. I’m getting all hot and bothered just by looking at it again. It was that good. Simple, too. And did I mention delicious? Done and done.
Tempeh, Goat Cheese and Raspberry Jam Sandwich
1 sandwich roll (I use Whole Foods brand 100 calorie sandwich thins)
1/3rd block of tempeh, sliced into two thin parts
1 tbsp raspberry preserves
1 ounce goat cheese
Smash yo’ jam, cheese and tempeh together on the roll. Devour.
I’m off to go close the blinds and lick the jam jar. Someone stop me…….I dare you.

LOL Jenna you are hilarious. And yes, that sandwich looks awesome!
I goat cheese and jam together. I can’t speak for the tempeh, but I have goat cheese and fig jam on toast every morning!
I still have no idea what tempeh is, but that looks delicious!
I love goat cheese, but with tempeh and jam?! I’m… skeptical.
I wouldn’t dare come between a girl and her jam.
Whoa, that sandwich looks phenomenal!
my lunch was so simliar! a whole wheat deli flat w/ tempeh, laughing cow + hummus, and cherries on the side!
You make me really, really want to overcome my fear of tempeh. That looks divine.
I loooove goat cheese, tempeh, and JAM! this sounds right up my alley. I’ve never seen the WF sandwich rolls – I’ll have to look for em!
Oooh, so good looking!
Tempeh is my newest obsession. I love it!
there is nothing to be feared about tempeh!!! it is my all time favorite lunch go-to. tempeh-avocado-tomato-spinach leaves- hummus. go crazy.
oH I agree – that sandwich sounds incredible!
I would never, ever, ever, never, ever come up with this combination. It sounds intriguing!
Hi Jenna,
I may have missed this in past posts, but where do you buy your Tempeh? Is it sold at TJs?
Thanks!
Laura
I’m not Jenna but yes, it’s sold at Trader Joes.
Thank you! I appreciate it…i am sure I have walked by it a thousand times!
It’s kept in the refrigerated section with the tofu!
I’ve never understood the cheese and jam combo…..maybe now I do!
I never understood the whole jam, tempeh and cheese combo thing until I actually tried it. It’s absolutely delicious.
I can’t wait to have goats cheese again! I’ve had to give it up during my pregnancy but with baby coming this week, you can bet i’ll be buying some SOON!
I LOVE tempeh/jam sandwiches. I add dijon and spinach/greens to mine.
This combo always makes my mouth water, but for some reason I never have all of the ingredients on hand at the same time. Oh, and licking the jam jar = totally acceptable.
hahaha…i’m not getting in your way on that one! i would pity the fool who dare try to stop me from doing that
I keep hearing about raw tempeh sandwiches and have yet to try it! This looks and sounds great lady!
I’m not sure I’d try tempeh just yet, but goat cheese and jam? Yes!
I sooooo wish I wasn’t allergic to soy! Your sammie looks delish!
Goat cheese + jam is SUCH a great combo. Actually, goat cheese + anything is a good combo. I’m pretty sure goat cheese + dog poop is a good combo.
Cheese and jam is just heavenly!
oooh what an interesting combo! I just can’t seem to get a taste for tempeh though…..
I put jam on everything. Sandwiches, oatmeal, bananas. The list is truly endless.
those cherries in the back look tempting
I ate this last week except it was on one piece of Ezekiel with laughing cow cheese and Crofter’s superfruit Asia jam. Great minds think alike!
I love coming to your blog and seeing your wonderful creations, I know everybody says it – but I get tired of seeing some of the same breakfasts or dinners over and over again…
I really need to try this cheese and jam combo
Your funny, that does look really good.
Jenna,
That looks flippin’ amazing! I had tempeh for the first time yesterday because for some reason I never thought it was gluten free! I will have to try that sammich on some of my GF bread or perhaps wrap. I have some fig goat cheese, so I will throw that on there instead…i’m sure it’s gonna rock my world

Your blog lately seems repetitive and honestly really boring. I don’t know how any one would want to comment on picture of a sandwich ???
You kind of just did, Kate.
I don’t know why anyone would bother taking time out of their day to leave a nasty comment just because they didn’t like the blog content. Move on if that’s the case.
Not a combination I would think to try but cheese and jam always sound good to me
I’m not feeling this sandwich. i dont love cheese
Yum! Tempeh & Jam were meant to be
heh. i lick the jam jar with the blinds open. glad i’m not the only one!
So jealous..that looks delish!
I wish I could find tempeh somewhere.
I so want to like tempeh because that really offers so many more options to my veggie eating, but, ugh! Someone please tell me what is to like about it??
And, um, Kate #33, I’m going to give you the attention you obviously crave and answer: because a tempeh, cheese and jam sandwich isn’t something most people would think of or try without this post–as you can tell from the comments above. That’s the point of a food blog. To talk about food.
YUM! I’ve been on a jam and cheese sandwich kick lately too! Why however did you know? (:
For whatever reason I just can’t get my head around a sweet tempeh sandwich!! I’m soooo needing to try this.
I just tried this combo using organic tempeh, goat cheddar, and swiss raspberry jam. I’m pretty sure I am in love. I can’t wait for dinner so I can eat this again…
Whoa… saw the reference to this in your latest post about baking rolls. I thought….eew, tempeh and jam!? Okay, I can see the goat cheese and jam… but tempeh… just never thought of as something to go with something sweet. But I trust you. If you say it is good, I will try it!
