Lunch

Lunch and Learn

Hi guys!

How’s your day going so far? I got back from the beach around 9 and was sort of lazy for awhile…snacked on trail mix…caught up on my blog reading…chatted with an old friend….

And then I went to a “Lunch and Learn” with my boss at his wife’s cooking school here in Healdsburg. I love this idea: once a month, they bring in a chef who does a cooking demo and the guests eat what he prepares. Today I actually KNEW the chef, which was Christopher Greenwald, because we worked together at an event a few weeks ago at the winery. And I looove his cooking! 🙂

I love how we got to take home the recipes….I am definitely going to be trying my hand at that almond cake. It is TO DIE FOR!

The salad with the roasted delicata squash, goat cheese and grilled pork was fabulous as well—

That might be best photo of food I’ve ever taken….heck YES!

I had a splash of our pinot blanc—

And ONE bite of cake + fig! 🙂

I practiced my self control today!

I’m going to run out and attempt to throw together a Halloween costume now and hopefully get back within an hour so I can do some YOGA before heading to bible study tonight. See you later!

    This is SO COOL.

After going to ‘Eatz’ in Hollywood this past weekend, I think I have finally found that my true passion in life would be to own my own little cooking school.

Being that I have a degree in marketing, I have no idea where to start or how to get there. Maybe someday!

Love the idea, love arugula, love almond cake, love the pix. Putting the link on my FB page. lol

Mentioned your new camera this PM when at outdoor cafe for coffee with local acquaintance who was Clint Eastwood’s Academy Award nominee cinematographer/Director of Photography, because I need to get one. He said that the Cannon 1000 F [think that was it] around $150 is also a good one for bloggers. Just FYI if anyone interested. I know zip about cameras and he’s the expert.

    Fabulous post!

    Hi Jenna,

I was wondering if you ever thought of doing a post with a listing of wines – type, price. I was wondering cluelessly thru a wine and spirits store (live in PA) and was tryign to remember ones I remembered you tried!! Just a thought, ya know, in those 5 minutes of spare time you have!!

That pic of the entree is awesome. But, I like the self profile more. You really do look grounded, serene and present. Some people are never able to be any one of those let alone all three!

I want that cake. And not just one bite. I’m a “go big or go home” kind of girl when it comes to cake (in my case, it’s often just “go home big,” but whatever). I admire your ridiculous amount of self control!
