I got back nice and early to Orlando today with plenty of time to go grocery shopping and get all my stuff done. I hate when I get back late and always feel stressed to get everything done! For lunch I just made an Amy’s veggie burger with honey mustard, ketchup and spinach on an english muffin with soy crisps and, for dessert, applesauce with cinnamon. Eating applesauce like this reminds me of when I was a kid. My mom always sprinkled cinnamon on top! On my drive back this morning I snacked on some green grapes I found at the apartment but they were super sour so I didn’t eat many. That cereal really held me over this morning—through a strength workout and a drive across the state!
I’ve been busy preparing meals and snacks for the week to come. Super charge cookies are in the oven!! 😉

Publix has some great veggie-products, I think.

June 16, 2008 at 6:52 pmHi! Quick questions. I am a die hard Amy’s California Veggie Burger fan. My Whole Foods stopped carrying them so I got the Amy’s All American Veggie Burger, it was so gross I couldnt eat it! What kind(s) do you prefer?

I definitely like the California veggie burgers the best!!! Right now I am eating the all american and I don’t really like them very much but i don’t want to waste them. I will definitely buy the california ones from now on though!

June 17, 2008 at 4:23 amHi Jenna–
I just have a quick question for you. I know that you eat a mostly vegan diet, so I thought you may be able to answer this: how do you get your calcium? I would like to cut out dairy, but I am worried that my bones will suffer for it. I hate to load up on soy yogurts and soy cheese since they’re expensive and not exactly “whole foods.” I just see soymilk in your groceries–is that where you get all your calcium? Just curious. Thanks!

I eat tons of foods with calcium in it (such as tofu and soymilk) but I also take a multi vitamin AND a calcium supplement just to make sure. Soymilk actually has a ton of calcium and if you drink hempmilk, one serving contributes 40% of your daily calcium needs. I would look to more natural sources rather than soy cheese—-dark leafy greens, tofu, beans, soymilk…more things have calcium than you would expect and a good multi vitamin cant hurt either!
