Luck Revived

Wow—-thank yall SO much for all your supportive camera comments! But guess what?!

This morning at work my camera randomly started working again!!!!!!!!! Nothing short of a miracle, right?! 🙂 I couldn’t believe it! It still smells like coffee and is pretty beat up looking (I need to start keeping it in a case and away from all liquids), but it works and that’s what matters!

I slept awful last night. I think it was because my dinner was sooooo rich and I went to bed feeling so stuffed…..uncomfortably so! I hate that! I couldn’t fall asleep because I felt so bloated and full and then I had trouble staying asleep. And then, before ya know it, the alarm is goin’ off and a new day has began!

I started it right though with a mess of 1 cup oikos mixed with a Mott’s no sugar added applesauce, 2/3rds cups puffins, 1 banana and some peanut butter….all topped with a sprinkle of my gingerbread sugar!

For lunch, Adam made a killer Greek salad! Check it out!

img_3106.JPG

How pretty is that?! I just love it. I made a HUGE salad (everyone was laughing at me cause I took so much on my plate!) with grilled chicken and the club’s signature white balsamic dressing.

img_3108.JPG

With a ginormous honey crisp apple on the side. I only ate half of the apple….I was so full after all that salad!

I ate a Cherry Dark Chocolate Kashi bar for a mid-morning snackie:

img_3097.JPG

The apple was big. Enough said. I always choose the largest ones at the store because I love them so much!

And for a mid-afternoon snack, I noshed on a pb&j made with a spoonful of peanut butter, some blackberry preserves and an Arnold’s Sandwich Thin.

img_3113.JPG

After work, I came home and relaxed for a little bit, catching up on yalls blogs! I love this time of day! Around 4:30 I went for a nice 5 mile run along the boardwalk. It was absolutely goooorgeous outside…..68 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It was divine.

And for dinner, I heated these bad boys up:

img_3114.JPG

I had five (no sauce, I don’t like it) with a half cup of steamed edamame and a toasted Ezekiel english muffin.

img_3115.JPG

I liked these dumplings. I had never had this particular brand but I’m a big fan of dumplings (or potstickers) in general. They are just so light and delicious. I ate them all the time in college!

For dessert, I had a rice pudding and a small handful of bunnies:

img_3116.JPG

And now I’m enjoying a lovely mug of Celestial Seasonings Vanilla Chamomile tea. 🙂

As for work today, it wasn’t as busy as yesterday but I had to do a couple really time consuming tasks. First of all, the rolls. These take a solid hour to roll out and then you have to proof them, egg wash them and bake them. It’s a morning activity for sure.

img_3107.JPG

Look at the gorgeous meringue topping Adam piped onto the key lime pie I made yesterday!

img_3103.JPG

I love me some meringue. That’s for sure. Its like billowy clouds of heaven. Yum.

I also baked more chocolate melties:

img_3104.JPG

Made more batter for the club’s signature “reverse chocolate chip cookies”:

img_3110.JPG

I also baked a huge sheet tray full of rich chocolatey brownies:

img_3112.JPG

And made more chocolate mousse, caramel sauce and creme brulee base. None of it was too incredibly photogenic though.

I’m soooo tired tonight. I’m going to tune in for a little of the World Series (its my kind of game….only 3 1/2 innings), read and then zonk out. Does anyone have fun Halloween plans??! For the first time ever, I am the candy giver-outer! I’M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to sit by the door and see all the costumes! This neighborhood is probably the most popular Halloween destination in all of Vero and is FILLED with kids. Yay! My “parents” bought a bag of candy but I think I’m going to go buy another tomorrow afternoon…something I like so I can nibble while I sit. My favorite candy is………………..good & plenty! Yes, I’m a HUGE black licorice fan. I love love love black licorice. I could eat good & plenty by the boxful. I think I’m the last remaining person that likes it but I can’t help myself.

I’ll see you tomorrow! Happy Humpnight! 🙂

ps—-for all my Chicago loves!!! We are thinking either a big, casual Sunday brunch and/or getting together for drinks on Saturday night at around 10:00 after a planned dinner we will be attending.  We probably will do both get togethers but don’t feel obligated to come to both…you can if you want to though! The Sunday thing will be with ALL 15 of us food bloggers and will include lots of Quaker snackies. The bar get together is a conjuring up of Miss Kath and myself, so it will probably be a little more personal and small and will include lots of…….wine? Either way, it would be fun to meet yall and if people that are interested in meeting up, could you please just jot me a super quick email (jenna@eatliverun.com) with your name? It’s easier for me to get a real count that way rather than looking back to a previous post.  Yay!!!! I’m going to freeze my butt off!!!!!!! 🙂

    yay camera miracle!!

My daughter is going to be a black cat (like Dexter in fact!) for Halloween. She is so pumped. I was totally savvy and spent like $10 on the whole thing. I got a black sweatshirt from wal-mart and black sock cap and then made felt ears with pink middles that we hot-glue-gunned on. She is doing her face up all cute with whiskers and sparkley make up and all that jazz. I’ll have to put a pic of her up on my blog after. woohoo for slow-pokes, those are my favorite candy. 😉

Glad to hear that your camera is working again. I was going to suggest that it might work after leaving it to dry but didn’t because I am no technology expert, but I am glad to hear it’s been revived.

I love black licorice too! It’s just me, my grandma and my dad who like it, and I thought WE were the only ones left! Ha! Enjoy handing out the candy- we have candy for the kids as well but our neighborhood is mostly filled with college kids- I don’t think many of them will come around!

…definitely not alone. I LOVE black licorice and good n’ plenty. I’m also pretty bad with technology (spilled tea on my cell last week), love books, and probably belong in the 1950s — a time when good n’ plenty were much more popular!!
