March 2011 has come and gone.
I can’t even believe that tomorrow is April 1st and we are one month closer to summer!
Here are some of my favorite March highlights—it’s been a fun month between cooking delicious treats, moving to a new house and visiting Texas friends!
This month, Adam and I somehow got incredibly addicted to Grey’s Anatomy and have watched (are you ready for this?) 4 WHOLE SEASONS. Yes, I’m aware that means we average three episodes a night, but what can you do? One of my favorite evenings we had this month was when Adam cooked his famous cedar plank salmon and we powered through Season Two.
I made s’more pop tarts and they were…unbelievable. Pretty much the best thing ever.
….ate a grilled cheese sandwich that changed my life. Seriously. You all MUST go to Blue Star Cafe in Austin and get this—it’s worth the flight.
Oh, and while in Austin, I discovered that I sort of rule at Bananagrams. Okay, maybe not…but almost!
I discovered the secret to amazing granola: lots of chocolate. You know it!
And finally, after months of cold ran, the sun finally came out! And with it, these sunflower chip cookies. Totally my new favorite cookie to date. And sunflower seed butter is my new favorite nut butter!
In April, I’m predicting we catch up to season six of Grey’s and I take a trip to a (very) far away land. Lots more yummy recipes and daily shenanigans to come!

And I’ve never played bananagrams…is it fun?
Your March looks absolutely fabulous! Your photography is stunning, and I hope you have an amazing April and beyond, too!
Here’s to a wonderful April!
(True confession: I got bananagrams for Christmas, but haven’t played yet… now I’m curious
bananagrams is amazing!!! favorite game ever.
Same here, but I got it 2 Christmases ago!
I’ve never heard of that game before but I looooove boardgames! I’ll have to look for that.
ooo where are you traveling?! Its been a pretty fantastic March for you guys!
what a fun March!
Please return to France so I can live vicariously through you. I’m obsessed with all things French right now.
What a great month! I love it when I get into a new show and can watch tons of episodes one right after another. It’s ultimate relaxation.
I love eating an awesome dinner and watching too many episodes of of a show you love … sometimes, it’s just the best!
“And sunflower seed butter is my new favorite nut butter!”– I fell in love with TJs SFSButter about 4 years ago and proclaimed it my fave nut butter, too! And especially for the price! Those $12 fancy cashew butters in WFs can go to someone else..I will rock my 3.99 SFSButter
I love your March recap!
And whether it happens or not, I hope you DO travel to a faraway land and have a great time!!
It’s been a great month of friends and food! Now bring on April and all the deliciousness that come with Easter
Booking the next flight to Austin for thet grilled cheese sandwich right now! LOL
I wish!
Such beautiful pictures Jenna! Looks you had a lovely month … I’m looking farward to summer too. Stone fruits anyone ?!
Alex and I plowed through FIVE seasons of Weeds this March! AND we got engaged
It’s been a great month
I have to make those s’more pop tarts. I love pop tarts!
What an amazing month. I agree… March went by so quickly! I’m ready for the warmth of April and the full Spring to finally get here!
I was just in Austin last weekend and did not go get that sandwich…fail!! I will just have to drive 2 hours to find that gem!
Oh my God – Paris?! Eek. Has Adam done a lot of traveling as well? Not familiar with his background. Just that he cooks a mean salmon…and chili
Everything sounds so good for you right now!
By the way – do you drink at all Jenna? I know you used to write about wine a bit when you worked at the winery before. But I noticed that beer on the table and it got me salivating
Dreamin’ of sun and patios right now. Do you miss the winery or regular “hours” ? (if that’s possible!)
I LOVE having Grey’s Anatomy marathons….no better way to spend a free evening than Great TV and Great Food!
Ooo, can’t wait to hear about the big trip to a far away land!
Hi Jenna!
Love the blog as always. I just wanted to let you know (if you don’t already) that your posts aren’t showing up on my browser (I use Google Chrome)–there will be no updates for three or four days, and then all of the posts you’ve done in those days will suddenly show up. It’s happened a couple of times, when I can see them on Firefox, but on Chrome it will look like you haven’t posted. Probably my fault for using a bizarre browser, but just thought I’d let you know in case you want to get your internet gnomes on it.
Thank God norcal decided to give us nice weather… it was getting rough there for a minute!

We’ve been having some issues with Chrome—not sure why and still trying to figure it out. So sorry about that!!
I saw you tweeted about acupuncture for migraines, everyone is different but usually there are great results with that technique. Try it!
Looks like a fun (and tasty!) month
And April is sounding pretty awesome too!
Never played banangrams (if that’s the name of it??)! And the s’more poptarts? Oh no you didn’t just go there!
Jason and I have become addicted to The Office. I’m not sure how it happened, we used to hate the show…like, loathe it. But now we can’t get enough. Kevin and Dwight are too creepy and funny to pass up!
Gray’s Anatomy is somewhere on my list!
PS. The boyfriend is also loving Dexter, but it’s too gory and killer-ish for me! Hehe
Thanks for letting us come along for the ride! I absolutely loving your writing and recipes.
March was good to you.
I’m still drooling over those homemade poptarts. And the scones..and cookies..granola…
Hi Jenna
I remember going through a particularly rough breakup in high school and instead of finding solace at the bottom of a tub of ice cream, I turned to Greay’s Anatomy. I went through all three seasons in the span of one week (that week being fall break). Might have been wasting my time…but it sure was great therapy!!
BTW, I’m a Trader Joe’s employee here in Tennessee and have absolutely loved our sunflower seed butter since the day we opened. I told one of the managers about your sunflower chip cookie recipe and she loved it!
Where in the world di the first quarter of this year go? FOR REAL!!
Cute post! I love recaps. All of the great reminders of all of your tasty treats. Yum!
what a great month for you! it’s all about the great food…brings everything else together
I am watching the AMAZING episode that’s on tonight for Grey’s
( all I will day is that it involves singing,,,,and the storyline has me in tears,so catch
up soon Jenna!)
Are you and Adam heading to Italy for a holiday? That’s my hopeful guess
Or……come visit your Canadian fans here !!!
PS Paris was what first came to mind…but I thought that seemed
too obvious a guess, but prob where you are headed!!
What a wonderful bunch of memories! Can’t wait to see what is ahead!
Can’t wait for your April!
I want to make those sunflower butter cookies. I love that picnic table outside. And what is bananagrams!?
April is my Birthday month!
March was a lovely month. I’m dying to try those poptarts!
I loved this monthly re-cap. Sounds like such a fun time
Can’t wait to see what you cook up for April!!!
March was a good month!!
wish u more fun in april..-)
Sounds like a fun whirlwind of a month for March. And fun times sitting on the couch watching shows
The hubby and I are barreling are way through Lost. Just finished season 3 and will start season 4 soon, but baseball (SF Giants!!) just started so I dunno how much show watching we will do now. Lol.
I’ll toss in my guess as France as the far away land
Where ever you go, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time and eat lots of yummy food.
What a fabulous March indeed. Looking forward to April! Are you really taking a trip? Hope so!
Heidi xo
I’m ADDICTED to Bananagrams! I discovered it this year and can’t believe I lived so long without it.
It’s like Scrabble but more fun and without the time investment.
Looks like you had a fabulous march, and I cannot wait until our grill isn’t covered in snow (yes…still…) so I can finally try the salmon you rave about.
Can’t wait to read all about your April adventures!
How is Grey’s so addicting?! My boyfriend I just finished Season 6 tonight & it was AWESOME! Best one yet…
Sunbutter makes me happy! It’s so tasty, and I love that it’s nut-free, so I can bring it to school. Those sunflower chip cookies are lovely! I think I’m going to try your recipe with my niece.
Grey’s Anatomy is a guilty pleasure of mine. As are those sunflower seed butter cookies. Literally can’t stop eating them!!
I love bananagrams! My boyfriend and I play it for hours on end.
I powered through all seven seasons of Grey’s Anatomy in six weeks. I think I watched like three episodes a night as well. Such a great show! Private Practice is next. Enjoy!
