Ugh. I am having quite a strange Monday morning. Everything was fine when I woke up. I felt great, woke up early and headed to the gym where I did a total body workout. Then, when I got home I was starving and made some oatmeal with 1/2 cup oats, soymilk, 1/2 banana, peanut butter and blackberries. But when I sat down to eat it I could only eat half and then it was as if I was forcing myself to eat. I did end up eating the whole bowl, but did so at such a glacial pace it was totally unlike me. And then, I had the worst stomachache ever!! Like really really bad, where I had to stop making my lunch because food was enough to send me over the edge. I was in the process of panfrying tempeh bacon to make a sandwich but the scent of that made me sort of want to hurl (sorry for the early morning graphics!) so I threw it all away and just put a can of soup in my lunch with some crackers and a pear. Then….the strangeness goes on–the power went out! It was out for about 15 minutes and just came back on. Weird…my tummy feels okay now but I am definitely queasy. I’ll be taking it easy today!

May 19, 2008 at 12:41 pmI’ve always wanted to try Wolfgang Puck’s soups, but they’re so pricey! Let us know how it tastes. =)

May 19, 2008 at 1:21 pmMags,
I really don’t know!! I found them in a plastic baggie at my parent’s house. I know my mom got them from the health food store but I don’t know what kind they are. They taste like little saltenes or pretzel crackers.

May 19, 2008 at 2:24 pmjenna, I don’t want to sound nosy or anything (and I’m not suggesting anything!!) but could you be pregnant? It’s just a thought! b/c those are very pregnant-like symptoms…of course, you probably just caught some stomach bug ^_^

May 19, 2008 at 2:29 pmHi Jenna,
Along with what ana said, first thing that came to my mind too was: could you be pregnant?

May 19, 2008 at 3:33 pmHey Jenna. I’m in the Olrando area also and wanted to recommend Ethos Vegan Kitchen to you if you have never tried it. Yum. It’s on Ivanhoe Row in College Park. The Healthy Trio is awesome.
Hope your day gets better.

May 19, 2008 at 3:58 pmI used to do what you described when I was in my 20’s because I had gall stones…even the smell of food could make me feel like I was going to hurl…that went on for a couple of years…finally went to the doctor worried it might be something serious…testing showed gall stones, had my gall bladder removed (back then that’s what they did) and have had no problem since and that’s been 38 years ago!
Also, pregnancy is a real possibility too…sooooo…watch what you ingest until you are certain you are not pregnant…
Hopefully it’s none of the above and you’ll feel better soon.

May 19, 2008 at 6:05 pmJenna hope you feel better! I posted this the other day, but don’t think you saw it,
When you used to make oatmeal ahead of time for your early morning class, how many days worth of oatmeal did you make at a time? And how did you store itβ¦β¦.several days worth would take up a lot of space with all the containers.
I make mine with milk, so I have done two days worth, but am afraid with the milk to do longer? Thanks!

May 19, 2008 at 6:34 pmYou could be pregnant…more likely it had something to do with being on that boat yesterday. your inner ear might be a little out of whack.
jenna
May 19, 2008 at 8:29 pmI’m thinking inner ear…it was VERY rough out yesterday and I almost got seasick, which I have never done before!

May 19, 2008 at 8:31 pmMolly,
You’re right…I think 2 days would be the best for oats with milk. I made my steel cut oats 5 days in advance because the only liquid I used was water and then I would reheat them in the morning with milk or soymilk. I’m a little hesitant to go past the 2 day mark with milk…great question!
jenna
May 19, 2008 at 8:31 pmOh! And I would store them in tiny tupperware containers!

May 19, 2008 at 8:33 pmBrit,
I own intuitive reading but have not read the whole thing…I’ve just read certain sections of it and really liked what I read. I need to read the whole thing though before I can make a “statement” about it…which I should do because its been sitting next to my bath tub for ever!
