Tequila and Tacos

by jenna on October 31, 2009

Hi guys!

Wow, what a day! I just got back from being at work for 12 hours but a good chunk of that was spent at our party so I can’t complain. ;)

I had the most random lunch ever today because I had nothing to pack! I really need to get some stuff to make sandwiches…

Yeah, that’s right. A sweet potato and an Amazing Grass protein bar. That’s how I roll…with a sweet potato in my purse. Actually it was quite filling and rather nutritious if I do say so myself.

I had the best tour today and had a blast with the folks….there were only two of them so it was really personal and then after I totally hung out with them for like an hour outside, tasted wine and had a mini photoshoot. Oh, my job. It’s rough…really. ;)

I ate an unpictured Pure Bar for a snack and then around 5:30 our party began….taco truck and all!

IMG_0282

I made guacamole for 40….

(and had a refreshing Corona)

Good times.

My grilled chicken burrito was AWESOME!

Mmmmmmm

It was fun. We had a Mexican dj and Spanish karaoke. And then somehow we all ended up back in the kitchen doing tequila shots.

Good times.

After cleaning up and everything I ended up getting home around 10:15 and then met a friend for a glass of wine. I’m more than due to be in my bed right now! I got the most awesome care package EVER today though from a friend at home and it totally made my whole day….mix cds and all. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ;)

In regards to my previous post, something must have happened because I guess the post from last night somehow got erased! I don’t know…the blog ate it. Boo!

I usually keep a Clif Zbar and an apple in my purse…so I don’t find your sweet potato too odd. :-)

Love your shot glass! :) The burrito looks so yummy! I love adding guac to things like that (in fact, I love adding guac to almost everything!).
Coronas remind me of Mexico! Enjoy your weekend!

That guac looks so good. How many avocados do you need to make guac for 40 people?!?!?

Oh man, I love sweet potatoes. So yummy. You eat them *RAW*, though?! I heard eating raw white potatoes is not considered healthy and has been linked to schizophrenia…

But, sadly, I am allergic to tequila — and thus, agave in general… so lots of tasty naturally sweetened foods are off my list. Make me all puffed up like a puffer fish.

I have the same exact necklace you are wearing! What a great find!
And on the topic of Taco trucks…I was awakened each morning my freshman year of college by a taco truck playing the Mexican Hat Dance song. It was a lively way to wake up each morning, but I didn’t appreciate it at the time.

You look so beautiful while throwing back those shots in that Tequila montage! Haha.

The picture of your burrito made me want to cry. I miss California so much it’s ridiculous.

Also, how did you fix up the sweet potato for lunch? Did you just bite into it like an apple? Haha, if so, that deserves a major digital high-five!

Taco truck! YUM!

Last time I was in NY, I found a taco truck, a waffle truck, and a dessert truck. It was intensely awesome.

A simple sweet potato is the best dinner. But it’s not complete without hummus and hot sauce :) A girl in my dorm was very confused that I dumped hot sauce on my sweet potato and not brown sugar, haha.

I think a sweet potato and a green bar is a great sounding lunch! Maybe that’s just because I’m obsessed with sweet potatoes, haha.

I love that you took a tequila shot from an espresso cup, too funny! And you are so not alone in the sweet potato lunch- I have sweet potatoes for lunch more times than I have a regular sandwich each week!

The guacamole looks great! Have you ever tried japanese sweet potatoes? They are yellow on the inside and has a slightly different consistency, almost creamier. They are delicious steamed.

My face would have been awful after doing a tequila shot! That is the one type of hard liquor that just doesn’t sit well with me. But looks like such a fun time!

I had a baked sweet potato today. YUM! So filling and delicious! I splurged and melted tiny marshmallows on top. The best!

I wondered what was going on when you mentioned that previous post and it wasn’t there. I thought I had missed something. Boo on the blog for eating it! :-(

Have a great weekend!

We had so much fun with you on Saturday at the winery. I love your blog and the photos from the Rebel are top notch! You are an inspiration. I have my photo shoot on Tuesday so the transformation of my old world website is about to begin. Here’s looking at you across my case of Michel Schlumberger. I am reading your posts to learn what I might cook to go with my wine and remind me of a great day in the sun in Dry Creek. Ahhh…sweet potatoes!
