the new chic food

by jenna on May 17, 2011

Tuesday night is now girls night around here and I thought what better chic food than this?

In my opinion, pork is the new veggie plate, the new stuffed mushrooms and the new Asian chicken salad.

Let’s be friends?

have fun on your girls night and hopefully there’s a bottle (or a few bottles) of wine involved too!

And I wasnt able to comment all day on your smores cupcake post…OMG amazing! Kept getting the 404 error likely due to your server issues, but I can get in to comment 🙂

Gina @ Running to the Kitchen May 17, 2011 at 2:23 pm

Heidi - Apples Under My Bed May 17, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Oh yes, pulled pork is totally the new girls night food. It’s insanely popular over my way right now. Have fun!

You just reminded me that I froze half a pork tenderloin two weeks ago and now I know what to do with it. 🙂

Natalia - a side of simple May 17, 2011 at 2:57 pm

Joelle May 17, 2011 at 4:00 pm

I regularly eat steak that is about 4x the reconmmended serving size. Bring on the meat for sure.

amy walters, aDESIGNdock May 17, 2011 at 4:50 pm

I’d take pork over an all veggie platter any night! Count me in Jenna 😉

Lindsay @ Pinch of Yum May 17, 2011 at 5:33 pm

I could truly be a vegetarian if it weren’t for pork.

Goober May 17, 2011 at 5:47 pm

chick – informal, a young woman
chic – elegantly and stylishly fashionable

meagan May 17, 2011 at 6:44 pm

as my husband would say…

can’t it be both?

Miranda @ Working Mom Works Out May 17, 2011 at 6:47 pm

Pork is ALWAYS chic in the South 😀

Kate May 17, 2011 at 6:59 pm

Omg ! How unattractive is that? I don’t even know if that’s a word, LOL !
Honestly, I got scared at first sight of this post.

Amy @ What Jew Wanna Eat May 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm

YES- maybe you could sprinkle some bacon on top too?

Hannah @ PalmBeachRunner May 17, 2011 at 8:22 pm

I agree, throw in the wine and you’ve got a girl’s night!

Katrina May 17, 2011 at 10:53 pm

Have a wicked awesome girls night!

Kristin Murdock May 18, 2011 at 11:22 am

Jenna, I feel like we ARE friends, and if we ever live moderately close to one another I will invite you over for dinner regularly. Have a GREAT day!

Molly @ RDexposed May 20, 2011 at 12:14 am

3 words: pork. belly. tacos.

Maddie May 24, 2011 at 2:07 pm

My current roommate is a vegetarian, bless her heart, but I am so over being around it. I want to sprinkle crumbles of bacon on my maple ice cream without judging eyes…

Also, BBQed pulled pork made in a slow cooker with ROOT BEER being the only other ingredient besides BBQ sauce…? Best pork-based decision I’ve ever made.
