Hi guys!
Hope you all had a lovely Tuesday evening. My day was filled up by unpacking and going up and down stairs. Exhausting. I did make a quite major Trader Joe’s run, though, which was one of the big highlights.
Tons of stuff….but relatively boring basic stuff like olive oil. Next time I buy something intriguing I will definitely take a picture!
I snacked on a cheeeeese!
I did grab dinner with a friend at Bistro Ralph though, which was aaaamazing! Seriously, if you go to Healdsburg, be sure to eat at both Zin and Bistro Ralph. Bistro Ralph is actually catering our Harvest Luncheons at the winery this week and everything is so fresh, gourmet and delicious. Yum.
I had a glass of Hawley Viognier and then later, a glass of Ketcham Pinot Noir. Both were quite lovely.
Had a cup of tomato soup to start—
And for dinner, I had salmon with caramelized figs. I am just LOVING these California figs!
Check out this side order of “1,000 french fries”
It was intense.
Food coma right now. Need to sleeeep!
Hope everyone had a great Tuesday…see you tomorrow!

I’m working on planning a weekend trip to take with my fiance when he comes out here in a couple weeks, and I’m definitely considering Healdsburg as a destination, those restaurants sound great, and it just sounds like a nice place to getaway for a day or two.

October 7, 2009 at 5:48 amI love fresh figs. The best I have ever had are in Jordan. My dad still owns a lot of property there and one of them is a farm. Every time we go the farm workers bring us CASES of our figs. They are amazing, and I keep eating them until my belly hurts.
Betsy

October 7, 2009 at 8:37 amHi Jenna, I currently live on the Peninsula in Los Altos but got married 15 years ago in Sonoma at the Kenwood Inn (when it was only 4 BR and not the mega-spa it is today!). Healdsburg is one of our favorite places! Bistro Ralphs is awesome. Our favorite place in Healdsburg though is Cafe Le Haye. I am sure you’ll get there soon. Glad you are having fun!

October 7, 2009 at 9:19 amSuch excitement lately! Wow. Since you posted the Dry Creek “general store” restaurant pic I’ve been meaning to ask: Is the Jimtown Store still in the area? I have The Jimtown Store Cookbook (2007) and it sounds neat. I guess it’s off Alexander Valley Rd. past Healdsburg. Do you know anything about Carrie Brown?
