Well I bet you all wonder what in the HECK is going on over here in Cali!!!!!!!

Let me start by saying this has been the craziest day of my life! Seriously! Just all the anticipation, the nerves, the final knowing, the emotional exhaustion……..wow. I am SO happy for Hardy, who was selected by Murphy-Goode today for the job because I know he is the absolute perfect person out there for the position. They seriously could not have picked a better fit for the job and I’m thrilled for him beyond belief. Am I disappointed? No. Why? Because right after the ceremony I was whisked away and presented with another very interesting opportunity to do social media for another Kendall-Jackson family wine that I think suits my personality even better–-Cambria.
I don’t really know even where to begin because I’m still in shock myself over everything. All I know is that tomorrow morning I will be flying down to Santa Barbara to tour the Cambria estate and vineyards and meet Denise, the winemaker. I fully believe that everything happens for a reason and Cambria is a much better fit for my personality than Murphy-Goode. Cambria wines have a much more “feminine touch” so to say and everything is really managed by Barbara, Jess Jackson’s wife, and their daughters. They make awesome Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Gris. The wines are named after the Jackson family daughters and I think there’s a ton of exciting potential there! I haven’t accepted a position as of yet but I was given the okay to blog about the possibility of working with them. Exciting stuff, right??! I couldn’t be more thrilled! From Santa Barbara I will be heading into LA and then flying back to Tampa probably on the red eye tomorrow night!
So all this news led to popping champagne with the whole Murphy-Goode crew after the ceremony and delighting in some delicious authentic cioppino with garlic bread! 😉

We had a BLAST and it was very cool to sit back and celebrate with the brains behind the whole creation of this campaign. A few others out of our group were also presented with job opportunities working with the Kendall-Jackson family and I just feel so thankful to be among them!
Right now I am emotionally decompressing myself in my new hotel room in Santa Rosa after a crazy few days. it feels SO GOOD to just relax…..! I think I’m going to relax here for the rest of the afternoon and go to bed super early so I can be ready for tomorrow: adventure number two!!!!!!!
See you for dinner…whatever that may be! Just got very munchy and was snackin’ on these delicious nuts from my suitcase!

July 21, 2009 at 7:24 pmJenna, I’ve been reading your blog for several months now and have considered posting many times- when your bother passed away, when you struggled with your shin splints, when you were a finalist for the Murphy Goode job (I voted as many times as I could!), … but I knew with this post that I needed to finally comment. You are such an inspiration to me, and checking your blog is always one of my favorites times of the day. I won’t say that you’re lucky for receiving this offer, because it’s not luck, you have worked so very hard for this and are absolutely deserving of this wonderful opportunity. Congratulations!

July 21, 2009 at 10:23 pmOMG YAY!! I am a TRUE believer that everything does happen for a reason!!! The whole reason that I work in the job I do right now was to compete in a biggest loser competition we had at work, lose 20 lbs., and become the health nut that I am today. Good luck!!!
