Clearly my home is a yoga studio. I mean who really needs a couch when you have three mats?
I washed all my mats with lemon water today. Apparently that’s supposed to be an all natural mat cleanser…who knew? Keeping yoga mats out is also a great procrastination tool when you say…have to write a book or something. I would write a page then do jumping squats or a tripod headstand. Another page, another headstand. I think being upside down gets my creative juices flowing.
Also, I’ve been STARVING all day. For a snack, I had a pear with cinnamon and almond butter—-
And then may or may not have dug my hand numerous times into the bag of blue corn chips. Oh, the temptation! In an effort to finally feed my screaming stomach, I made a large pancake for dinner!

January 13, 2010 at 8:11 pmI’m SO wanting to travel out there and hop on a bike with you. Can’t imagine a greater way to enjoy that part of the country, OR raise money for cancer research (clearly something I care a lot about). If only I weren’t a full-time student… will definitely put aside some to donate, however 🙂

January 13, 2010 at 8:27 pmHey Jenna- I am really interesting in joining your team. I bike enthusiast and this sounds really fun. How amazing would it be to ride my bike through Napa Valley? Is this just a century ride or is it a race?

January 13, 2010 at 8:27 pmHoly Headstand!! How long have you been practicing yoga anyways?? It’s a challenge for me just to get my hips down for a basic diamond pose LOL – pathetic.
Anyways, congrats on the fundraising – anything for charity and out of the heart is good.

January 13, 2010 at 8:41 pmI wish I could join you! If only life didn’t get in the way of all the things I wanted to do. Great job on your fundraising efforts…such a great cause!

headstands are so great for creativity…at the very least it gives you something to do until you get creative again 🙂

January 13, 2010 at 8:45 pmThe pix of Dexter extremely cute, esp in the pink bag. Have no doubt you’ll make/exceed your goal, esp since have til May. Might start off a bit slower than normal, just because many focused on raising donations for Haiti right now.

January 13, 2010 at 8:50 pmI really want a yoga mat, but i can’t find them anywhere near by. Need to get on that soon though, hardwood isn’t kind during exercise.

January 13, 2010 at 9:06 pmWhen I saw your Tweet about the tripod headstand earlier, I thought you were trying to take a photo of you doing a headstand with a tripod. Hahaha…shows how much I know about yoga ; )

January 13, 2010 at 10:15 pmI have heard that headstands help with energy (taking it up a notch) so that would help with creativity, right?

January 13, 2010 at 10:58 pmWow, thanks for the great tip on how to clean your yoga mat. I have two that are quite nasty and stinky. I have debated putting them in the washer, but I heard that was bad. I didn’t know what to do. The lemon water is a lot less expensive than actual mat cleaners as well! Thanks again!

January 14, 2010 at 12:07 amI know vinegar is a good cleaner but I didn’t know lemon worked on mats – great tip!

January 14, 2010 at 2:17 amI can’t believe you still don’t have a sofa! You should look on freecycle and see if there’s one in your area available. People get rid of the most random stuff on freecycle, and some of it is still really nice!

January 14, 2010 at 3:12 amOh I wish I could join you in the ride!! I am riding in a century in September! I rode 75 miles last year and with the proper training it’s not that bad!! But the training does take it out of you!! The good thing is….you get to eat more since you are burning so many extra calories!!!!!
I burned something like 2500 calories during the 75 miles ride!!!!!

January 14, 2010 at 3:23 amIt’s good to know that a little lemon water can clean a yoga mat. I was hesitant to purchase one of those expensive yoga mat cleansing sprays, not I’m relieved to know that won’t be necessary.
Love the pancake dinner! I was just perusing the Kodiak site last night…I’m think it’s time to invest.

January 14, 2010 at 4:50 amMaybe you did not buy a couch because you don’t want to own a lot of stuff in California. I’m currently in a stage in my life where I try to keep everything I own down to three suitcases, so I know how that is. But anyways, you can buy futons that are really comfy and cute that are really cheap. It could be your couch and then a bed for guests. Just a thought.
Good luck on the bike training!

January 14, 2010 at 4:50 amLemon water, I had no idea. I’ll have to give that a try. I wish I could get out there to participate (you live in a part of the country I am kind of in love with) but I’ll just have to settle for donating 🙂
