Lunch

Bare Essentials

Thank you all SO much for your sweet and kind comments! They really do make my day :).

Well, I’m all done!! I can’t even believe it….I guess I’m not “really” done until January though when I walk and get my chef coat, diploma (sent over from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris!!!) and tall chef hat. I’m done with classes though and that’s all that matters right now!

This morning I snacked on half of this larabar:

And then for lunch I had the only thing in the kitchen:

These taste JUST like spaghettios! I had another huge apple with it to make it a meal

Not my ideal lunch and certainly pretty boring to blog about, but its all I have!! I’m sure dinner will more than make up for it tonight though!

So, this afternoon I FINALLY have my doctor’s appt to go over my MRI results. I’m keeping my fingers crossed….! And then tonight I’m going out to Roy’s with my roomie, Caitlin and Meghann to celebrate. The “party” at the wine bar had to be postponed because we really couldn’t figure out the driving situation since no one wanted to drive after going to a bar and also, it’s pretty expensive.Β  We still plan to have a fun dinner party at Roys, which will involve cocktails for sure! It will also be fun to see everyone I used to work with and say goodbye. Still can’t believe I’m moving on Saturday!

God willing I will be able to go for a run downtown after my doctor’s appt. The office IS downtown so I’m bringing my camelbak and wearing my running clothes with hopes of hitting my favorite trail around Lake Eola afterwards. Eeek!

Have a wonderful Thursday afternoon! TONS of pictures to come later πŸ™‚

Oh! the side planks questions for jenn.. yes they totally tighten and tone your waist. We do them often in yoga and maybe Jenna will do a video demo sometime. They are one of my favorite poses!

    Hi,

This is a rediculous question, but I just need some reassurance. I got down to 100/101 pounds and I’m 5?3?/5?4?. I have no clue what my ideal weight is, and I do have a history of anorexia. I’m trying to gain 2 to 5 pounds, and have been eating between 2100 and 3000 calories the past few weeks (probably close to or even a tiny bit lower than the lower number, I just estimate on the high end when I don’t know). I’m a little surprised I’m not more than this morning’s weight of 102. No reason to feel guilty, right? Thanks for letting me vent.
Hope no one minds I posted on Kath’s blog too.

everyones weight fluctuates everyday. I think if you are that concerned with a pound when you weigh so little, you should seek professional help before things worse! Good luck

Jenna, thanks for answering my question on the soy pudding! The yogurt never actually made my stomach hurt, I just spent a little more time in the restroom if you know what I mean! I better not try it though because I don’t really enjoy that too much : )

I had another question about sud-dried tomatoes. Are they just dried tomatoes? Do you know if they are like chewy. For some reason I imagine them to be like a raisin but with a tomato taste!

    Thanks!

    Anon,
As a recovering anorexic, I know how hard it is to allow yourself to gain weight. If you are coming out of a starvation period, you will probably need alot of calories to gain weight. I was hosptialized and eating the required meal plan and losing weight at first! Your body does weird things after you abuse it by not eating enough. Anyway, my point is that eating 2000 calories or so will not neccesarily make you gain weight. And, i’m guessing your team (if you have one- if you don’t have one, def find a good nutrionist/doctor/therapist) is hoping you will put on more weight, because you are certainly under weight. I’m not sure what kind of progress you have made or where you have been so it’s hard to give good advice on the situation… but yes you are underweight. Your body won’t work properly unless you are eating enough and weigh enough.
So yeah, good luck and try not to worry so much about the number I know, that’s WAY harder than it sounds. But, just keep in mind that you have lots of lbs to gain before you’re even at a ‘healthy’ weight.

    Anon,

Your ideal body weight using dietetic calculation methods would be 115-120 plus or minus 10% (115 if you are 5’3″, 120 if you are 5’4″). The plus or minus 10% depends on whether you have a smaller or larger frame. So, if you are small framed 104-108 may be okay, but you should speak to a doctor for a professional opinion. Without looking at you I couldn’t tell you if that would be too low.

Good luck with getting healthy; please do seek professional help if you haven’t yet, it can be life changing.
