Can Someone Please Tell Me What’s Going On?

Another night in and out and home by 9:00! Am I on a roll or what?!

Speaking of rolls (that was really corny…sorry)….

Sushi!
Tina and I hit up Sushi To Dai For (hah) downtown because both of us were craving sushi and I had never been. Sushi is another one of those things I miss from the South. Certainly (not by any means!) saying the South has the best sushi, but I ate so much of it growing up that it always reminds me of home. By the way, Chick-fil-a and Sonic’s crunchy ice are definitely high on the list as well. I do love me some waffle fries.
But yeah. Sushi! It was so good. I had the first two rolls. A regular spicy tuna and a small baked vegetable. The baked vegetable had asparagus, carrots and eggplant in it and was topped with jalapeno slices and spicy sauce. Really yum. I also had a glass of La Crema Chardonnay because after my day, I needed a glass of wine.
The best part of the night? After dinner we randomly stumbled into an art show across the street. The art show was in a hair salon with free booze and tips benefitting the homeless. Tina tried to ask which homeless shelter we were benefitting and no one seemed to know…
But they had art! And classy red solo cups!

I live for random/spontaneous activities such as this.

And it’s still getting better! We almost crashed into THIS monstrosity on our way out!

Santa Rosa? Dr. Seuss mobiles? Can someone please inform me of what’s going on here? Apparently they race these beasts on the railroad tracks here come fall. Who woulda thought?
Too much. Too much. I need to just pet Dexter or something and calm down from all the excitement.

Definitely time for you to visit Southern California. While we’re not quite the South, we have sushi, Chick-fil-a and Sonic!

They race those bikes on the railroad tracks?! With the trains coming or without (just properly trying to gauge the adrenaline factor)?

Sushi just may be my all time favorite food. I’ve made it myself before and the getting the rice correct is the trickiest part!

Sushi! It reminds me of home too. NYC might have some of the best sushi places, but PA has the tackiest decor, which makes it far more memorable 🙂

Did you know that the only Chick-Fil-A in New York City is in an NYU dining hall? They make you swipe your card at a security gate twice- once at the building entrance, and once at the dining hall entrance- because they’ve had so many issues with people trying to sneak in. Too funny!

UGH… Chick-Fil-A. I hear you, girl! I miss it SO much! No other fast food even holds a candle to it. I went to my cousin’s grad party last night and they had chick-fil-a catering with a huge plate of nuggets. I was on cloud 9!

I’ve been really craving sushi lately and I don’t even think I like it. So weird! I’ve tried it once or twice in the past. Maybe it’s time to give it another shot? I love random arts shows, too. What I really love is free wine tastings. There’s a place across from where I work that has them every day. Sometimes I just want to slip out at lunch and drink, but know that would probably be really unprofessional. 🙂

Love this post- you crack me up!

Girl, you’re in my (2nd) neck of the woods in Downtown SR! Sushi To Die for’s not bad but I know there’s some better places out there. That contraption you’ll see often in DT SR. There’s a guy that likes to ride it around on the weekends by Flying Goat and hang out by Aroma Roasters.
You’ll see more like this on Sept 26, 2010 at the Handcar Regatta in Railroad Square between 4th & 5th St.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. 😉

Yum…sushi! We go to an all you can eat sushi lunch about once a month! And we have our wine tastings (kind of) at Total Wine and the Fresh Market! We actually have a liquor store that has tastings on Friday and Saturday nights too! I love Fort Myers! Glad you are enjoying living in CA!

I want that bike to ride to school. I’m sure that’s exactly what they have in mind when they call my town a “Bike Friendly Town”. 🙂

holy sushi!!! Love me some sushi and ahahhaa LOVE THE SOLO cup. At least you lead an exciting life…even if you end your night at 9pm. I’m one to talk though, I tend to spend the day/night with my parents on the weekends and wind up in bed by 10 and up by 645 anyways! Hope you had a great weekend!

That sushi looks delicious and unique. I love trying “specialty” rolls at restaurants. That’s where you can really tell if it’s a good place!
