Hi 🙂
I hope everyone is doing well. You know when your brain is so jammed packed full that you can’t fathom anything more…that was me today—in a constant head spin! However, a four mile run helped enormously and now I feel much, much better. It was actually one of the best runs I’ve had in a long time. It had just finished storming outside so it wasn’t tooooo hot and I just blasted my ipod and was alone with my thoughts for 39 minutes. Love it.
Before I went I did snack on an Oikos + MixMyGranola (I felt like I was back at The Summit!)—
I honestly think the number one thing that has improved my runs is GATORADE! Seriously! The weak, watered down gatorade I sip while running helps me soooo much. I haven’t had a post-run headache since I started!
Dinner was super casual and easy. I kicked up a box of Annie’s Mac & Cheese with some feta, sharp cheddar and fresh ground pepper and served it alongside a wild alaskan salmon burger (honey mustard on top!) and a bell pepper.

August 18, 2009 at 8:43 pmAny form of exercise helps clear my mind too! Did the extra padding underneath the soles help make your run smoother? Hope it wasn’t painful! tc.

August 18, 2009 at 8:53 pmI agree with the Gatorade theory, its helps me keep hydrated so I don’t feel lightheaded after a long run. I remember in high school before and after my track races I would chug Gatorade and feel great hours after my race. Oh and I too would love to visit Pure Food and Wine someday!

August 18, 2009 at 8:53 pmUgh, a jam-packed mind is the story of my life lately! Happy you had a stellar run, sometimes my workouts are the only break I get to clear my head 🙂 Still gotta try Gatorade, perhaps for this week’s long run? Enjoy your night!

August 18, 2009 at 9:11 pmMy husband and I were in New York this past weekend for the NYC half marathon and we went to Pure Food & Wine for dinner Sunday night. I’m so happy that I was able to eat there! And my meat and potato loving husband really enjoyed the food! I would go back to NYC just for Pure Food & Wine:)

August 18, 2009 at 9:32 pmI have been meaning to tell you this since the last time you mentioned your gatorade was hot during your run. I always take an ice cube tray and fill it with gatorade and freeze it over night that way while I’m running the ice melts and the melting gatorade gets watered down from the water. I am always sure to freeze the gatorade because the cubes melt towards the middle to end of my run when I need a little extra something. Glad to hear your run went well today. I love how much a good run clears my mind and makes me feel so great afterwards!

August 18, 2009 at 10:19 pmMy new job has kept me from running as much as I’d like – and not having an “outlet” really got me emotionally wound-up. I totally know how you feel about runs helping “sort stuff out!” 🙂

August 18, 2009 at 10:32 pmGreat run!! I looked all over the block for Pure when we were in New York last time and could not find it at the address – I really believe I was in the right place (even though I am the most directionally/geographically challenged individual out there!). Need to try again next time I’m there.
One of my friends/clients does her own ‘abundant living’ show on You Tube and took a little trip to One Lucky Duck:

August 19, 2009 at 1:45 pmJenna- my husband tried a new electrolyte powder this weekend that he really liked. He had been drink Gatoraide, but the amount of sugar in it was bothering his stomach while he was working out. This weekend he tried Heed. I know that you’ve been watering down the Gatoraide and thought you might like to try something else! Just FYI 🙂
