Yucky! This morning I woke up with a sore throat :(. I hope its just some weird passing thing because I can’t get sick right now!! I’m going to make a huuuge tea to take to school this morning so hopefully that will help a little.
I knew I needed an extra filling breakfast this morning because today is my day to help out with the wine tasting…aka I have to stay after school and do the dishes. Everyone in class has to do it once and today it’s my turn! We are tasting French reds though, which are my favorite =). I made a big bowl of overnight oats and I incorporated some butternut squash in there to pump them up even more. Here’s what I used:
1/2 cup multi grain cereal soaked in 1/2 cup water overnight
1 chobani
1 spoonful peanut butter
1/4 cup butternut squash
tons of cinnamon
1/2 banana
maple syrup 🙂
Creamy, cold and delicious! Now I need some tea to warm me up!!
I am also bringing this bar to school for a snack before the tasting:
I’m off to make some tea and get my butt to school! Hopefully my throat won’t get worse…have a great morning, y’all!

September 16, 2008 at 4:25 pmHey Jenna, hope you feel better! I’m out in Cali and everyone out here is sick too, I think something is going around. I have a question for you about your tofu, I made it last night and while it turned out great, it didn’t really turn out very crispy, what do you think I did wrong? I did only use about a little over a tsp of sesame oil, do you think I didn’t use enough oil or was it something else? Thanks!

September 16, 2008 at 5:14 pmHope the throat turns out to be nothing serious. LOVE all that cinnamon on your oats. I am a huge fan plus I find it helps hold me over longer (something about blood sugar I think).

September 18, 2008 at 12:54 amdo those protein bars ever bug your tummy? I find the ones with sugar alcohols totally ruin my stomach?

September 18, 2008 at 12:55 amAlayna,
I think I have a stomach of steel after trying so many odd things this year in culinary school. So no, I don’t get bothered by those bars but I know some people do. It just depends on your sensitivity to the sugar alcohols. If it hurts your tummy, definitely stop!
