Morning!
You know, last night when I went to bed I thought to myself “maybe I could just try to go out on a short little run in the morning and see how my ankle is doing”….yeah NO. The storm is still raging out there and I actually sort of like it because it will force me to be productive all day until I go to the studio at 4:00 to work the desk and go to yoga.
I had a bowl of cold cereal this morning because I just couldn’t cook anything on the stove that would require more dishes to wash in the bathtub. Hoping the plumber will be here this morning…yuck.

This big bowl has a mix of 1/2 cup cinnamon raisin Ezekiel cereal, 1/2 cup cinnamon puffins, soymilk and banana. After I ate it all I went back for one more sprinkle of puffins and a sprinkle of granola 🙂

Want some TEA?!

I was lucky enough to receive some samples from Wiseman Tea Company. I LOVE loose teas and these are no exception. All of their teas are finely made and blend together actual pieces of dried fruit, spices and tea. Here’s the package I got (the same one that one of YOU will get!):

A comfy t-shirt, 4 tins of loose tea and a diffuser. I tried the Sencha Orange Passion (green tea) first and LOVED it! It has huge pieces of actual dried orange in it!

I love it!!!!
So anyways, the folks over at Wiseman Tea want to give one lucky ELR reader a tea care package as well. All you have to do to enter the giveaway is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite flavor of tea. I’ll pick a winner tomorrow morning!
Ready, set, go tea!
Erika

January 20, 2010 at 9:15 amI love buying a few different loose leaf teas and creating my own blend. I just purchased some Vanilla Black and added it to a strong Oolong. Scrumptious! My secret weapon (since I don’t have a cute little diffuser) is a coffee filter! I add a teaspoon of each tea to the center of the coffee filter, then I twist the top and pour the hot water over the “tea bag.” It works wonderfully, but a cup-sized diffuser would be nice…. 🙂

January 20, 2010 at 9:27 amMy favorite tea depends on my mood. I guess overall I’d have to say a nice spearmint with grean tea. I’m always going to be happy drinking that – especially when I get to make it with mint from my garden.
But for winding down in the evening I enjoy Madagascar Vanilla Roobios. And for a black tea I LOVEEEE Stash Almond Cream tea (with Teavana Almond Biscotti as a close second).

January 20, 2010 at 9:32 amOh my gosh! This giveaway is right up my alley! I started drinking loose leaf tea five years ago when I was in Germany and have been hooked ever since! And since I can’t pick just one favorite, I’ll tell you my top two:
“The A L’Opera” by the Mariage Freres: it’s a French vanilla green tea that is made of sweet spices and red fruits. It. Is. Amazing. If you are ever dying to try new tea, definitely check out Mariage Freres. It’s the best.
My second favorite is a pomegranate black tea that some of my friends brought back from India. I believe it is by Infinitea, but don’t hold me to that! It’s a great tea with just enough kick to get you through the day!

January 20, 2010 at 11:14 amIt’s a tie— between PG Tips (with a wee bit of vanilla soymilk) and the earl grey / green tea blend that I keep finding in my office’s kitchen. But once I had an amazing Moroccan mint tea at some random restaurant in London; sadly I cannot recall the exact location.
Mmmm now I need some more tea!

When the electricity is out here in Carmel during storms I make it on the heater and all is well in the world! I love most all teas depending on mood–spicy orange, soothing jasmine green, red zinger type tea, black teas–you name it. Love heavenly tea.

January 20, 2010 at 11:47 amWell first, I’d have to say it depends what time of year it is! haha. But, I would have to say my long-term tea relationships are Chai tea (my first kiss), Earl Grey (the one that got away), and Green Tea (my soul mate). I DO enjoy myself a cup of pomegranate green tea though – so let’s just say I’m casually dating a variety of teas. : )

Rachel
January 20, 2010 at 11:49 amSo I actually don’t have a flavor of tea, because I’ve never tried it. In fact, for the past three weeks I’ve been going back and forth trying to figure out what kind of tea to try as my INITIAL tea experience, and if I were to receive this package (hint hint, haha) then that decision could be made for me. My only job would be to drink the tea, because I totally trust your opinion!

January 20, 2010 at 11:50 amI love tea, too! I lived in London for a couple years, so quality everyday black tea is a must. At one point, I had boxes of PG Tips, Yorkshire Gold, and Bewleys (an Irish brand) in regular rotation, and I had a complex (and rather whimsical) system for deciding which one to drink.

January 21, 2010 at 1:21 amI LOVE Lapsang Souchong tea. Strong black tea, with a smell that reminds me of sitting round a riori (open fire) in the mountains of Japan on cold nights. You can’t drink it too often, it is very strong, but it’s such a beautiful, evocative flavour. 🙂

January 21, 2010 at 1:23 amMy favourite tea is Lapsang Souchong. I used to live in Japan, and the smell of this tea reminds me strongly of sitting round open fires (riori) in old farmhouses, the smell of woodsmoke hanging in the air. The taste is strong but not overpowering. It’s a tea to contemplate with, rather then ‘get up and go’ with. Beautiful, complex and evocative.

January 21, 2010 at 3:21 amGenmaicha tea for sure.
I love the smell as it brews, the taste when I sip it, and the feeling of comfort during, and after it’s consumed. If I could I would drink it like water. But I love to savour every. last. drop. 🙂

January 21, 2010 at 5:15 amI discovered this tea made by “The Republic of Tea” last week that I can’t stop drinking. It’s their “Get Relief” tea (don’t laugh 🙂 ) –and it tastes amazing! It has cinnamon, anise, and peppermint in it. The cinnamon really adds a delicious twist to the anise and peppermint. HIGHLY recommend it!

January 21, 2010 at 7:11 amI love green tea in the morning, lemon ginger herbal tea after meals to settle my stomach, and earl grey/english breakfast as a treat now and then! I kind of have an obsession with tea and have to force myself not to buy another box each time I go to the store! It’s getting to the point where I need to devote a shelf in my pantry solely to teas haha…

June 3, 2010 at 6:59 amHi Jenna! love your blog-but never comment! I live near the Philly area and went to college there, but I am unable to make the blogger meet up tomorrow…So bummed. You will love Philly. It’s a great city. I also wanted to recommend a book to you that I just finished. You may have heard/or read it..The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. It’s an easy, quick read told from a dog’s perspective. I know you love dogs so I wanted to share it. From one dog lover to another ;o) Safe travels!
