Hello!
Another gorgeous day in Sonoma County!

This morning I ate some oat bran with a half scoop of protein powder + peanut butter and honey and then (well, after my food digested) went for a run around Spring Lake.

It was sooooo pretty!

My right shin gave me some trouble this morning though after running fast in my race last weekend…..I need to ice it down and get my hands on some biofreeze.
Lunch was pretty standard; a sunshine burger on ezekiel with a laughing cow and sriracha, plus a huge grapefruit!

In other news, I finally got my car back after about three weeks! It looks all sparkly and brand new. I missed her! π
I just ate a snack of a yogurt with a little sprinkle of galaxy granola (love this stuff) and am planning on hitting up a 5:45 yoga class this evening to stretch out.

Time to ice my shin!
In response to your questions from the past few days (sorry its taken me so long to get back to you!):
- my pink long sleeved running top that I wore to my race last Saturday is from Lululemon.
- I use Ole Henriksen sunlight protection cream spf 30 sunscreen on my face daily as well as Bare Minerals powder. Used both since 2007 and love them.
- my necklace is from a small spa in Charleston…I don’t remember the name…I got it in 2006.
That’s all for now…see you in a bit!

March 23, 2010 at 3:42 pmMy shins are keeping me from running more than 2 times per week….guffff. Ice ice ice! Does Biofreeze work well for your shins? My dad loves that stuff.

March 23, 2010 at 3:44 pmSpring Lake is great-I try to get over there at least once a week, and hopefully now with the days staying lighter longer I’ll get there more often. There are so many beautiful wildflowers in bloom if you go off onto the dirt trails a bit. Glad you enjoyed it! You should check out nearby Annadel too…

March 23, 2010 at 4:09 pmI bet it smells good at Spring Lake now, too, with all the wildflowers. The Monterey/Pacific Grove/Asilomar/Spanish Bay trail is just gorgeous now. Actually doesn’t look real in some lights with carpets of flowers and glittery Bay, so many of fave seagulls and cute sea otters. Watched a Mummy Gosse on her eggs on the grassy edge of rock cliff over ocean with Poppa Goose watchfully by. Geese are fascinating. Not Coldplay/Apple/Whole Foods/American Apparel/Classic white MBZ Station Wagon kind of fascinating. But still. They completely stick together.

March 23, 2010 at 5:02 pmIce, ice, ice those shins! And one of my fav shin stretches is to get down in a squat position and position myself until I feel tension in my shins. That does wonders for shin splints!

March 23, 2010 at 8:28 pmLooked like it was indeed a beautiful day! And i think you’ve inspired me to go to the fruit stand early in the morning and pick up a couple of grapefruit. They make me feel so fresh and springy.

March 23, 2010 at 8:51 pmSorry about your shins …. I used to get it all the time when I striked with my heel, good thing I noticed and changed my landing to midfoot π Hope icing it will help!
By the way, when you went to Paris last time, did you happen to buy anything from Pierre HermΓ©? I’m dying to go to France and try all his macaron flavours ..

March 24, 2010 at 7:30 amhave you ever used a tiger tail after running to roll out pressure points? picture a foam roller but smaller for your shin muscles and calves (if you dont know what im talking about ha). these work so well on any weird muscle pains or tendon injuries. mucho better than icing i find! gooooood luck. ps. such a pretty trail π
