Behind The Butter

Expensive Trip!

Definately did a little damage at the grocery store today! I really thought I had things under control and had a list written out and all of that, but I guess the things I needed were more on the pricey side and I suppose it didn’t help that I went to The Fresh Market, which is the most expensive of all the grocery store chains! I went there though because I needed specific vegetables for recipes this week and I always find the best, most fresh ones there. I also needed Gruyere cheese and pancetta, which are more specialty items and might not be found at the regular store. I’ll try to keep it light next week! 😉

Yum…looks like you have all kinds of good ingredients for cooking though. The produce looks great! 🙂 And fage yogurt…I’m so jealous. The closest chain that carries it for me is about 45 minutes away. I make it a point to splurge every now and then though, and make the trip. Fage is so worth it. 🙂

    Sarah,

Fage = amazing…it’s so pricey but I always shell out the money because there is seriously no comparison to regular yogurt! The boyfriend tried to surprise me by buying me some to eat when I’m home on the weekends but he bought the fage total instead!! 250 calories! He looked so hurt when I told him I only ate the 2% or 0%…at least he tried!

one more thing- do you ever go to subway? if so what do you get? I always get turkey on wheat with tons of veggies and the ff sweet onion sauce or mustard. I don’t eat out often but if i’m in a hurry, subway is my spot. Do you think their wheat bread is whole wheat?? thanks!

    Hi Jenna,

How much does Fage costs? The smallest container (200ml ?) costs around 4 plus dollars in my country. Yikes! I shall try it one day when I’m feeling rich since I’ve heard only good things about Fage.

    Cheers

I wish Maryland had amazing frozen yogurt places like Florida! I’m so jealous! PS the Whipped Cottage Cheese is amazing, I’m addicted to it!

    Mel,

I really don’t go to subway often but when I have gone in the past I always ordered either a veggie on the honey oat bread (no mayo, honey mustard + provolone cheese) and baked lays or I would get a turkey in a wheat wrap with the same mustard, no mayo and cheese. It’s probably the best choice if you are on the road or on the run!

    Alicia,

Where are you from? Yes…fage is super $. I’m not sure how much exactly the small containers are here because I always buy the large containers…which are about 5 dollars for four cups of yogurt. It’s pricey, but worth it!
