I am officially obsessed with Meghann’s new puppy, Maddie!!!! Isn’t she SO cute?! She is so well behaved too. She didn’t make a peep all throughout dinner and just laid curled up on her mama’s lap. So cute! I want one!
We had a really fun girl’s night tonight at this little bar/pub down the street from my house, Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I’ve eaten there before and love their food and the atmosphere is awesome. Us three girls split a bottle of Pinot Noir—

And ordered spicy sweet potato fries as an appetizer—

As Gina would say, they rocked my face off 🙂
As for an entree, Meghann and I went half and half on the pizzas because we couldn’t choose. I ordered the goat cheese grilled pizza with caramelized onions, balsamic reduction and dried figs—

While Meghann ordered the Spinach and Arugula pizza with feta cheese. I took half of hers and she took half of mine and we feasted!

totally and completely aaaaaamazing! I liked the Spinach and Arugula pizza but my favorite was my goat cheese one. Not surprising though because I have a little more than a minor obsession with anything and everything goat cheese. The figs were the perfect compliment and, well, it was a total party in my mouth 😉
After dinner I was driving Anne home and we took a detour to my house to have a Summit fashion show……….with animals.

A teeeensy bit more wine 😉

The big question: what do we wear to the Summit cocktail party?!

No comment:

I think I laughed until I was in serious pain. Hysterical. I’m leaning towards the green dress but sort of feel like its a little too Christmasy…thoughts? If we showed up in wet suits though that would be pretty darn cool. Just sayin’.
Must get some sleep now because I have a hot 6 miler in the morning.
G’nite!

August 7, 2009 at 10:26 pmHahaha I love everything in this post – especially your green headband in the first pic and the PUPPEHS!!
The green dress is beautiful. I don’t think it’s too Christmas-y. 🙂

August 7, 2009 at 10:30 pmThe goofy picture at the end of the post is cute. The green one is elegant and matches you really well. Meghann looks really good in the summery flower one.
Michelle
August 7, 2009 at 10:31 pmI vote the blue one with sassy black heels and a ‘drop’ necklace to show off your neckline.
Looks like you’re having fun. Fried sweet potatoes are a small slice of heaven. I ate them every morning in Timor…the trick is moderation. But omg they’re heaven.
Alex
August 7, 2009 at 10:36 pmHello! I’d just like to say that both dresses look great, but the green dress is the best:). Not too Christmasy, I think.
Janine
August 7, 2009 at 10:36 pmI actually like the BLUE one better for a summer cocktail party! Both are gorgeous though!
Alyssa
August 7, 2009 at 10:37 pmThe BLUE DRESS!!! 🙂

August 7, 2009 at 10:45 pmI like the green because it’s a really different color. For Anne, I like the first one. That is, of course, assuming you won’t be wearing the third options.
Sarah
August 7, 2009 at 10:56 pmGreen for you and the print one for your friend!

August 7, 2009 at 11:00 pmI vote for the green dress for you and the patterned one for Meghann, but you both could wear sacks and look fabulous.

August 7, 2009 at 11:15 pmsweet potato fries are amazing! i had some tonight too.
and i love the green dress-you don’t see as much clothing in that bright true green, so it stands out.
Sara
August 7, 2009 at 11:18 pmCute dresses! But all this talk about Summit outfits on all the blogs is making me feel like it’s expected to be some kind of fashion show… Yikes!!! ;/
Jessica
August 7, 2009 at 11:21 pmThat green dress looks AMAZING on you. Not xmasy at all!!!! It makes you look thin and healthy. Loves it!

Kate
August 7, 2009 at 11:23 pmI think the green one is great! You’re so gorgeous! I think that living green and wearing green are a great statement and I don’t think it’s too Christmassy at all 🙂
Kailey (SnackFace)
August 7, 2009 at 11:30 pmThough the wet suit doesn’t look half bad, I am loving the dark blue dress on you! Stunning!
I’m so happy you had a fun night! And the pizza sounds out-of-this-word good! Have a glorious 6-miler in the morning!

Tammy (Defining Wellness)
August 7, 2009 at 11:45 pmYou are too cute. I want to hang out with you sometime — you’re so much fun. I’ll be in Wilmington, NC during the summit, but I can’t wait to read the posts. I hope you all have a great time. I love both dresses, but I must say, I think the blue one is the winner! Very classy! BTW, goat cheese and fig pizza? Um, yum!

August 7, 2009 at 11:45 pmI LOVE the wetsuit thing…you should totally wear that to the cocktail party!
JK, JK… The green dress is fabulous on you and you are fabulous in it, so wear that! Yaaaay! And thanks for the inspiration — I was planning a pizza night (starring TJ’s premade pizza dough, of course) and now I am totally going to put figgies on my pizza! The grilled pizza look wondrous!
Lizzy

Suzanne de Cornelia
August 8, 2009 at 12:34 amThe green dress is it. Although love the wet suits! For your friend…I’d go with the pink dress she had on for dinner. The shiny light blue material is pretty and the shape of the halter dress is really nice…I just have a real thing against patterns. [JFK would not allow Jackie to wear patterns.] To me, the are too busy and detract from looking at girl. But that’s just minimalist me. Love the hairband!
Amanda
August 8, 2009 at 12:34 amI love that darker blue dress!
Erica
August 8, 2009 at 12:48 amGo with the blue dress! It looks great on you. Great color and fit. Have fun next weekend.

August 8, 2009 at 1:12 amYou are way too young to remember, but in those wet suits and those poses you reminded me of my favorite childhood Saturday morning cartoon: Dynowoman and Electragirl. Thanks so much for the laugh. By the way, you are usually beautiful in just about all your clothes. You have a wonderful sense of style.
Kerry
August 8, 2009 at 1:23 amGo green!

August 8, 2009 at 7:36 amI know “go green” is in and it does look wonderful on you, however, the blue dress rocks on you. Anyone who looks that incredible in a dress deserves to wear it. Friends, puppies and VINO are always the perscription for a wonderful night of relaxing and laughter!!!!!!
Erica
August 8, 2009 at 7:45 amWhat a yummmmmmmy dinner. I love goat cheese too- its seriously incredible. Meghann’s new baby is the cutest. Very cool that you got to meet her.
I like both dresses but the blue is the winner in my eyes!
KatieF
August 8, 2009 at 8:08 amI’m a fan of the blue dress. Simple yet sophisticated. But the green dress is nice too. Don’t worry about it too much–you’ll look nice in either of them!
Kim
August 8, 2009 at 8:12 amBoth are great, but I think I love the green dress a bit more. I’m loving that you’ll be wearing bright colors to the cocktail party — such a burst of Florida amongst the basic Northeastern blacks and grays 😉
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down)
August 8, 2009 at 8:23 amI’m loving the blue dress, but you can’t go wrong with either…they’re both absolutely stunning!!
Although, I have to say, the wetsuit idea is pretty crazy cool too. 😉

Anna (www.annaseats.com)
August 8, 2009 at 8:48 amThose spicy sweet potato fries look AMAZING!
The green dress is really cute! If you pair it with summery looking sandals/heels and jewelry you may not think Christmas green anymore when you see it!!
chippednailsandall
August 8, 2009 at 8:48 amalthough I AM tempted to say the wetsuit, haha, I think the blue looks fabulous on you. It’s a style I haven’t seen you wear a lot on the blog and I think the blue would complement your eyes well!
