Hi guys!
The movie was SO good! More on that in a second π
Exercise today was brief because I like to save my legs the day before a long run. So, I just took Mikan on a nice 50 minute walk. We both enjoyed it. When I got home I was quite famished and polished off a plate of leftover enchiladas with salsa, beans, guacamole and a plethora of hot sauce! With more Tazo iced green tea on the side—

Mikey slept—

And then my mom and I hurried out to meet Anne at the movies! I really really liked the movie. I mean, how could I not love a tale of a normal food blogger that gets a book contract and later a movie deal? Plus, major perks for my alma mater, Le Cordon Bleu! π Maybe by the time I’m 30 I’ll get there….haha
I snacked on my new favorite treat ever afterwards—

And just finished faxing in my final paperwork for the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in October!!!!!!!!!!!! I’M SO EXCITED FOR SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!!! (shrieking at the top of my lungs) I need to start training hills, asap.
I have some things to do and then I’m meeting Meghann and Anne for dinner around 8:00. I get to meet Meghann’s new little puppy baby so I’m pretty excited. She will have to come over and play with cousins Mikan, Dexter and Mikey tomorrow π

August 7, 2009 at 5:20 pmMikey is so cute! You must be having great weather in Tampa, ’cause it’s cool and cloudy in Seattle. Just had to get that off my chest because I have goosebumps. No one should have goosebumps in August! I’m so looking forward to seeing J&J. Happy to see positive reviews because I really enjoyed the book. Wish I would have thought of the idea… Years ago I tried to follow a vegan cookbook for a year. Only made it a few months before I needed to eat a cheese sandwhich. Did think Sandra Bullock could have played me though… Good for you signing up for the Nike Half. What a fun thing to look forward to!I’ll be running the Portland Marathon in October (my first & last).

August 7, 2009 at 5:53 pmI played hooky this morning and went to catch the flick myself (can’t beat matinee prices!) Even though I always think the book is better, I loved the movie. Meryl is always fabulous, but everyone was great in the film.
Not that vegetarian friendly, but it wasn’t as descriptive as the book… π Two thumbs up on both!

It’s funny, as I was watching it, I was actually thinking of you and your blog (creepy much?!) and thought that if you hadn’t seen it yet, I would need to recommend it to you. But of course you were on top of it! Glad you liked it too π

August 7, 2009 at 7:51 pmOMG I cannot WAIT to see Julie & Julia! I guess it’s technially a ‘chick flick’ which I don’t typically go for, but come on, how can I say no to a movie about cooking and blogging?!
That Bon Appetit cover looks amazing, btw. I LOVE roast chicken!

August 7, 2009 at 8:47 pmThat dinner looks incredible! Is it the recipe you have listed or a different one for enchiladas?? And Mikey is too precious for words (my kitties love clean laundry, boxes, and sleeping right on top of pillows). Glad you are staying positive and moving forward in life with such heart!

August 7, 2009 at 8:50 pmHi!
I have never introduced myself and I feel like a HUGE stalker but I love your blog and I read it everyday. Even in the middle of class when I should be paying attention. LOL! I jsut wanted to say that you are amazing and I know this because of all the people that LOVE you and your blog. As a new blogger I know how much work it takes to come up with stuff to write about so keep up the great work!

August 7, 2009 at 8:59 pmI met Julia Child twice when I lived in Santa Barbara/Montecito…she lived there two. The second time I was driving up to San Francisco to cook for a friend [who isn’t a good cook and loves my cooking] who was having a party for 50. We went back and forth on the rather complex menu….and was looking forward to the fun of creating. Ran into the Santa Barbara market as leaving town. Was on line with Julia and her husband who died shortly thereafter. She recognized me from before and said hello and asked what I was up to. I told her about the dinner and the menu and she replied “Oh just put something on the grill.” I thought that was hysterical.
Jenna, she didn’t write her book until she was 50! There’s loads of time and you will get there! You’ve already done more than most do in a lifetime!
I love Nora Ephron films and can’t wait to see it.
PS how do we load a pix/icon here?
Madelin @ What is for breakfast?

August 8, 2009 at 12:11 amSeriously girl, TRAIN THOSE HILLS!! I consistently ran hills in almost every run, and the SF hills were no big deal for me. I powered by other people struggling, so those hills paid off. But they can be killer!

August 8, 2009 at 1:47 amThanks for the sneak preview of Bon Appetit π (it takes a few weeks to get my copy here in England).
I’m still to go see the movie – I hear Amy & Meryl are fantastic in it, plus yes, the food….
Happy training for SF!
