SO FUN!
I just LOVE events like these because they involve all my favorite things: food, friends and wine. What could be better?! I get to hang out with all my best friends and do what we do best….eat. Yes!! And dinner was SO GOOD! I know I say it all the time, but I’m just going to say (for like the 5,000th time) that this meal was totally in the top 5 of the year for me. Thank you, Foodbuzz!!!!!!!!
Dinner tonight was in an awesome produce warehouse and was put on by Outstanding the Field, who specialize putting on dinners straight from the source (aka the field). Everything was organic, sustainable and….delicious!!!!
There these interesting shrimp puff things on all the tables. Surprisingly, they were quite tasty. Think pork rinds…but shrimp.
And then, food madness began. And it was amazing.
(at this point I shall pause to tell you that I totally quoted myself turning to Kath and saying “dang…I wish I could just take a BATH in these udon noodles with calamari”)
For the record, I had two big plates of these brussels sprouts with oxtail. And, CRAZY conversations that are totally not blog appropriate were going on. More readers need to come to these events so they know the “behind the scenes” dirt on us. We had so much fun!! And loved Bonny Doon wines!
Oh, and you know what else?! I won “Foodblogger to most likely have a food network show!” How crazy is THAT???!
Tina, Kath, Caitlin and I all won awards and were so excited. I won a rice cooker so I’m especially excited!
Naturally, we went out for a round of cocktails to celebrate after dinner. I had a cosmo!—
And then, afterward……….
Night night.

November 9, 2009 at 11:27 amHey Jenna – Great to meet you on Friday with Annie. Awesome blog – congrats on the award. Those Shrimp Puffs from the dinner are actually a very common snack in Asia – you can buy them at asian markets in the US. Those ones, however, probably aren’t organic/sustainable 🙁
